Anything which happens, happens in this world and I CAN WRITE A COMPUTER
PROGRAM FOR IT. That is one of the messages of my latest book on "Machine

pope, preacher or devil...I can program any and all of them.

I disagree with the view that quauntum THEORY is a scientific notion
that is far removed from politics. What bothers me about quantum theory
is that it leads on a path of thought that assumes that science has a
duty to answer cosmological/metaphysical questions as an extension of
religion rather than serve as a tool for human purposes. Out of that
line of thought has come a a whole new slew of religious cults...
including that Hale Bopp cult that committed suicide based on the belief
that subjective sensation is the path to the perfect knowledge of the
"mind of God" on the premise that the subjective is the part of us that
is immortal and that ultimately can exist without a body. Frank
Tipler's book, THE PHYSICS OF IMMORTALITY attempts to advance a system
of thinking along that path, and I have seen other efforts to develop on
the belief that technology is proof of the validity of an idea.

Unfortunately, lobbyists from Silicon Valley are gaining a lot of
political clout because of the enormous amount of money they are using
to buy political favors. Sure, they would love the public to think that
the gods in the heavens have seen fit to exercise the "invisible hand"
to enrich the computer industry enough to buy the U.S. Government for
their private purposes while leading the American people to believe that
quantum theory is far removed from politics. The fact is that quantum
theory is its technological products must be held ethically and morally
accountable to the public, whatever twists of the "Uncertainty
Principle" that Silicon Valley CEOs use to rationalize their belief that
the world is only an extension of their egos to serve at their private
pleasure. Every sexual deviant that comes along would also like to
believe that it is the "Uncertainty Principle" that explains why they
can't get a grip on their lives. It is very much a moral and ethical
issue that these CEOs have also been gaining domination over the whole
information industry and language, itself. If greed motivates abuse of
information technology and educational resources for propaganda purposes
at the expense of objective, accurate information reaching the public
about what is going on, that is an ethical issue that we had better pay
a lot of attention to rather than allow technowhizzards spin us silly
 with their quantum theory jargon.

I would advise people to pay more attention to what is coming out of the
Congressional Internet Caucus Advisory Committee than quantum theory,
and think twice about letting private interests buy the U.S. Government,
and every last remaining organization that serves as watchdogs on the
media, the environment, the educational system, the courts, etc. This
week, Bio sent out a very informative e-mail to the Roundtable list
providing a lot of very solid reasons why it is vitally important to
keep an eye on the "All-Seeing Eye" that has so successfuly put
Americans in a trance of euphoria over the state of the nation. The gap
between reality and perception in the public is a very good reason to
start reversing the dumbing down of America with the whistles and bells
that are seducing them into "interfacing" their brains with the whims of
the technological puppetmasters who control the New World Order. For
anyone who hasn't seen that item of e-mail on the CICAC, I would be
happy to see a copy of it.

I also recommend the webpage on The Marriage of Psychology and
Technology for those who are interested in reality rather than in what
 merely looks good and feels
 good.http://home.earthlink.net/~openbook/Soc.post.coldwar.html

Corruption Beyond Belief
By David M. Bresnahan

If you study Bill Clinton's past you can predict his future. It is
fairly easy to see where he is headed knowing what he has done before
and observing how he operates.

The Clinton health plan debate was a major topic of discussion in June
1994, and I was a very outspoken critic. I was also a Republican
candidate for the Utah House of Representatives, and my campaign was
in full swing -- a campaign I would win in November of that year.

"This is the special events office of the White House for David
Bresnahan," said the voice calling me on my home phone.

"Yeah, right. Who is this really," I asked, assuming one of my friends
was trying to put one over on me.

I checked. It turned out he really was from the White House. It seems
that somehow I was being invited to meet first lady Hillary Clinton.
It later evolved into a meeting with President Clinton as well.

The health-care debate was at its peak, and I had been an outspoken
critic in 1994 as a candidate for the Utah House of Representatives.
Somehow former Democratic Rep. Karen Shepherd had me listed in her
computer as a health-care reform supporter. Her staff called the White
House and asked for an opportunity for me to meet the president and
first lady.

With only a couple days' notice I was able to make the travel
arrangements and off I went, not knowing what to expect other than
being told I would have an opportunity to meet and express my views.

Before leaving I held a neighborhood meeting in my backyard, at the
Chamber of Commerce, and the Rotary where letters were signed
expressing dismay with the plans that were moving forward to
federalize health care. Even Democrats were signing the letters.

My neighbors were questioned by the FBI for a security check, and I
went through the normal security procedures at the front gate of the
White House. According to former FBI agent Gary Aldrich in an
interview on my radio show, I went through a tougher background check
than many of the White House staff.

After a brief visit to a non-public portion of the White House, I was
ushered out to the South Lawn where seats were arranged under a canopy
for a speech. It had a political campaign atmosphere, and every
attendee was given a placard that read: "Small Businesses everywhere
want Universal Health Care."

I was instructed to watch for signals from strategically placed
audience directors for when to hold up the sign and when to applaud.
They seated me in the front row, but I felt so out of place that I
quietly found my way to the back so I wouldn't stand out like a sore
thumb when I didn't raise my sign or clap wildly.

In fact, I was a real fish out of water as I realized that I was most
likely the only person in the crowd of several hundred who did not
support this absurd attempt to socialize health care.

I had been told that I would be met by Rep. Shepherd at the White
House, but she never showed. I later learned that she had finally
figured out that she had made a gigantic mistake by inviting me and
ditched the meeting.

The press were the only ones who knew that I was a strong opponent,
and they were waiting for me in a roped off section behind the
audience. We met and arranged a press conference on the lawn of the
White House when it was all over. The White House staff would not
permit them to go with me when I met with President and Mrs. Clinton.

The White House band played for at least 30 minutes prior to the
presentation. It was amazing to see the way the audience was built up
for what was to come. By the time "Hail to the Chief" was played, they
were primed and ready to give the kind of response those audience
directors were looking for.

When Mrs. Clinton spoke the crowd responded on cue with wild
enthusiasm to a presentation packed with emotion and devoid of facts.
It was a good thing I had moved to the back row.

I clapped politely when necessary, stood by my chair when everyone
else jumped up and down with their silly signs, and I hoped no one
would notice my lack of enthusiasm. If this crowd discovered who I
was, I was afraid I would be like a piece of raw meat thrown into a
pack of hungry wolves. Fortunately, I was able to avoid attracting
attention to myself.

Without Rep. Shepherd to introduce me to the president I was concerned
that my meeting with him would not take place. I was able to make
myself known to one of the staff who seemed to have nothing to do, and
I became her project.

I told her the truth. I was a candidate for a Utah House race in a
very tough district. My congresswoman was supposed to meet me but I
couldn't find her, and I was concerned that I would miss out on my
visit with the President and Mrs. Clinton. I also pointed out that I
was bringing hundreds of letters from my constituents which the
Clintons would most certainly want to receive.

She didn't ask, so I didn't tell her that my tough race was against a

Crypto AG: The NSA's Trojan Whore?

by Wayne Madsen

FOR AT LEAST HALF A CENTURY, THE US HAS BEEN INTERCEPTING AND
DECRYPTING THE TOP SECRET DOCUMENTS OF MOST OF THE WORLD'S GOVERNMENTS

**

It may be the greatest intelligence scam of the century: For decades,
the US has routinely intercepted and deciphered top secret encrypted
messages of 120 countries. These nations had bought the world's most
sophisticated and supposedly secure commercial encryption technology
from Crypto AG, a Swiss company that staked its reputation and the
security concerns of its clients on its neutrality.

The purchasing nations, confident that their communications were
protected, sent messages from their capitals to embassies, military
missions, trade offices, and espionage dens around the world, via
telex, radio, teletype, and facsimile. They not only conducted
sensitive albeit legal business and diplomacy, but sometimes strayed
into criminal matters, issuing orders to assassinate political
leaders, bomb commercial buildings, and engage in drug and arms
smuggling.

All the while, because of a secret agreement between the National
Security Agency (NSA) and Crypto AG, they might as well have been hand
delivering the message to Washington. Their Crypto AG machines had
been rigged so that when customers used them, the random encryption
key could be automatically and clandestinely transmitted with the
enciphered message. NSA analysts could read the message traffic as
easily as they could the morning newspaper.

The cover shielding the NSA-Crypto AG relationship was torn in March
1992, when the Iranian military counterintelligence service arrested
Hans Buehler, Crypto AG's marketing representative in Teheran. The
Iranian government charged the tall, 50ish businessman with spying for
the "intelligence services of the Federal Republic of Germany and the
United States of America." "I was questioned for five hours a day for
nine months," Buehler says. "I was never beaten, but I was strapped to
wooden benches and told I would be beaten. I was told Crypto was a spy
center" that worked with foreign intelligence services.

Despite prolonged interrogation, Buehler - who had worked for Crypto
AG for 13 years and was on his 25th trip to Iran - apparently
maintained his ignorance. "I didn't know that the equipment was
bugged, otherwise the Iranians ould have gotten it out of me by their
many _methods._ "

With millions of dollars in contracts and a major international spy
operation at stake, the company was eager to make the incident and
Buehler go away, even though the salesman had brought in 40 percent of
Crypto's 100 million Swiss franc sales revenue. Crypto bought
Buehler's freedom with a $1 million payment to the Iranians, returned
him to Switzerland, and then, astonishingly, fired him and ordered the
bewildered salesman to repay the bond.

The cover-up backfired, however, when current and former Crypto
employees came to Buehler's defense and shared their first-hand
knowledge of manipulated cipher equipment.

"I hold proofs [sic] of the rigging of code machines," said an
unidentified former Crypto AG engineer. "Fifteen years ago, I saw
American and German engineers doctoring our machines. It took me some
time until I was certain about the manipulations. The proofs:
technical documents. ... I put them in a bank safety deposit box. Then
I informed the federal prosecutors_ office in Berne. There were many
conversations. Suddenly, these contacts were broken off and the affair
petered out."

The engineer told another reporter: the schemes and the cipher keys
were created by them [NSA and BND (Bundesnacrichtendienst-the German
intelligence service)]. I immediately, discreetly, notified the Swiss
prosecutors. There was an investigation. I was never able to find out
the result. Today, the Buehler affair brings everything out in the
open again. And, I'm afraid. What happened to Hans Buehler could
happen to any other salesperson of Crypto AG. It's not a question of
attacking this company; it's a question of saving lives

When the Swiss media began to reveal the background of Buehler's
story, Crypto AG responded with a lawsuit in an attempt to quash the
story and muzzle Buehler. The suit was settled days

Leonard Weinglass reveals critical new evidence in Mumia Abu-Jamal case

By Jeff Mackler

Speaking at a January 23 New York City national leadership conference
called to prepare the April 24 mass demonstrations for a new trial for
Mumia Abu-Jamal in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and internationally,
chief legal counsel Leonard Weinglass presented a comprehensive update
on the case that included startling new information further
demonstrating Jamal's innocence.

Jamal, a journalist, author, leading critic of police violence and
brutality, and internationally known fighter for democratic and human
rights, was framed-up in 1982 on charges of murdering Philadelphia
police officer, Daniel Faulkner. Jamal has spent the past 18 years on
death row, incarcerated 23 hours daily in a tiny cell, while leading a
historic battle for justice and for his freedom.

Attorney Weinglass, addressing some 70 leaders of the national political
defense effort at the Columbia University gathering, reported on a
recent study done by Professor David Baldus, a leading U.S. authority on
race and the court system. Baldus' 1983-93 study, which includes the
case of Mumia Abu-Jamal, documents the concerted efforts of Philadelphia
District Attorneys to exclude Blacks from juries. Blacks were 5.2 times
as likely to be thrown off juries as whites according to Baldus. In
Mumia's case, the figure rose to 16 times more likely. No other case in
this comprehensive study has such a ratio. Professor Baldus is now
studying the record of Mumia's 1982 prosecutor, Joseph McGill in this
regard. Racism in the selection of jurors is a key point of contention
in Mumia's case since 11 African-Americans were removed.

Weinglass presented a detailed report regarding new information on the
case that had been obtained by the defense team. An internationally
renowned ballistics expert, Dr. Peter De Forrest, has been hired by the
defense team. De Forrest has discovered critical new evidence including
his assertion that the bullet that killed Police Officer Faulkner was
actually intact as opposed to the testimony of the medical examiner that
it was smashed and broken into two pieces. The defense team has
uncovered evidence that could demonstrate that the actual bullet that
killed Faulkner was switched.

A former Philadelphia police officer told the defense that such
switching was done all the time.

Additional information reported by Weinglass relates to the issue of
whether the police knew who Mumia was at the time of the murder. The
police claim that they did not know him. The highest ranking policeman
on the scene, Captain Giordano, reported that Mumia had confessed. His
testimony, however, was not used in the trial because he was indicted
for massive corruption and plead guilty in federal court. Giordano was
the ranking officer at Benjamin Franklin H.S. when Mumia led the fight
there to rename the school Malcolm X. Captain Giordano also headed the
unit in the police action against MOVE headquarters in 1978.

Police officer Forbes, who found Mumia's gun at the scene, also knew who
Mumia was. This new information offers the defense a powerful argument
for discovery, that is, to demand access to the huge files the police
admit to having on Jamal yet refuse to turn over to the defense.
Previous defense efforts to access these and other files, have been
denied. The new evidence opens new legal avenues for such discovery.

Weinglass presented some stunning information related to Mumia's alleged
confession. Priscilla Durham, the security guard at the hospital, who,
some two months after the alleged murder, reported that Mumia had
confessed his guilt as he lay in the hospital, is dead.

Durham claimed at the 1982 trial that she reported this confession to
another police officer, Bartelli, one day after the murder. It appears
that Bartelli, also, is dead.

And finally, another security guard who reported that he heard a
confession, is also dead.

A detailed report was presented by Weinglass on an individual who was
reported to be on the crime scene who may have been the person who
actually killed police officer Daniel Faulkner. A driver's license had
been found in Faulkner's clothing. The police had arrested the owner of
the license, who, while able to prove that he was not on the murder
scene, stated that he had given his license to this person. Two months
after the murder this same person was arrested on other charges. He was
found to be in possession of a 22-calibre weapon which might have been
capable of firing a bullet with a copper jacket similar to the one found
on the crime scene. The copper-jacketed bullet could not have been fired
by either Officer Faulkner's gun or Mumia's gun. Jamal defenders have
long argued that the above information, known to the police at the time,
was illegally kept from the defense. It was not presented at Mumia's
1982 trial.

WASHINGTON (AllPolitics, February 6) -- The legislative clerk who called
the roll during U.S. Senate votes was killed Friday in Arlington, Virginia.
Bates called the roll during Senate votes in Clinton's impeachment trial

Raymond Scott Bates, 50, and his wife were struck by an automobile
about 6:30 p.m. as they were walking across Lee Highway. Bates died a
few hours later at Washington Hospital Center, and Ricki Ellison Bates was
listed in critical condition Saturday morning.

The car that struck them was driven by an unidentified 22-year-old man
from Manassas, Virginia, police said. No charges have been filed, but
police are investigating.

Bates' voice was heard across the country when he called the roll during
votes in President Clinton's impeachment trial.

The Washington Post reported that Bates had worked in the Senate for 30
years, the last eight as the legislative clerk. Senate Parliamentarian Robert
B. Dove said Bates began his Senate career as a bill clerk after arriving in
the nation's capital from Arkansas.

Ricki Bates is employed by the Arlington County public school system,
neighbors said. The couple have two daughters in college and a son in
middle school.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

Jordan's Abdullah: From Soldier To Regent

Picture: Reuters Photo

AMMAN (Reuters) - Prince Abdullah bin Hussein, eldest son of Jordan's dying
King Hussein, was swept from special forces commander to regent after his
terminally ill father named him his heir last month.

The 37-year-old prince, who had been commander of Jordan's Special Forces
in an army which forms the bedrock of support for the ruling Hashemite
dynasty, assumed the powers of head of state Saturday as the king lay
unconscious in an Amman hospital.

Up until recently Abdullah had rarely been considered a leading contender
for the throne.

Energetic and enthusiastic, he showed more interest in night-time missions
with his forces patrolling for smugglers along Jordan's eastern borders
with Iraq.

Close associates say Abdullah, whose interests include collecting ancient
weapons, had little ambition outside the army, telling military sources as
recently as two months ago he had no wish to be king.

Ungroomed for the highest office, he was thrown into the international
spotlight by his father's shock decision last week to install him as heir
in place of his brother Prince Hassan, his designated successor for 34
years, and by the swift and deadly return of a cancer which the king
battled last year.

Barely had Hussein rushed back to the United States for more treatment than
Secretary of State Madeleine Albright arrived in Amman to express support
for the soldier prince.

Princes from royal families of Gulf Arab states and the son of Libyan
leader Muammar Gaddafi also came to Amman to voice their backing.

The future king's leading role in the military should help ensure he gets
the support from the armed forces crucial to a smooth transition.

But sources say his political abilities remain untested and question how
well-suited his sometimes impulsive enthusiasm would be to complex affairs
of state, dealing with other Arab leaders who have ruled for decades and
tackling the economic woes bedeviling his resource-poor country.

Abdullah was crown prince for a short time in his infancy but his uncle,
Prince Hassan -- King Hussein's youngest brother -- was appointed heir in
1965 to ensure the crown would not pass to a young child at a time of
mounting Middle East turmoil.

He has occasionally acted as regent in the absence of King Hussein and
other senior family members and has built up links with young members of
Gulf Arab ruling families.

His main role has been within the Special Forces, a highly specialized
commando unit dedicated to maintaining internal order. It helped to quell
riots in southern Jordan in 1996.

Last year he led a high-profile Special Forces operation to storm the
hideout of gunmen who had killed eight people in Amman. When the shooting
was over Jordanians chanted his name on the streets.

A few months later his father promoted him to major-general and diplomats
speculated that the king, the Middle East's longest-serving ruler, was
grooming him to take command of Jordan's land forces.

Although Jordan's constitution does not rule it out, the fact Abdullah had
an English mother, born a non-Muslim, had been seen as an obstacle to his
taking the throne of a tribal Muslim country.

Jordanians, especially those of Palestinian origin, have shown greater
affection for Prince Ali, son of King Hussein's third wife Alia -- a
Palestinian Muslim. Abdullah does, however, have a Palestinian wife.

More recently King Hussein had appeared to be preparing the 18-year-old
Prince Hamza, his eldest son by his fourth wife Queen Noor, for the throne.

But officials said the king judged it too risky to name an untested
teenager as next in line for the throne.

Prince Abdullah was born in Amman on January 30, 1962, the son of King
Hussein by his second wife, Englishwoman Toni Gardiner, known as Princess
Muna.

He was sent to school in England aged four but completed his high school
education in the United States. He later took one-year courses in
international affairs at Oxford University in England and Georgetown
University in Washington.

In 1980 he joined the British military academy at Sandhurst and served in
the British army in West Germany and Britain. He served in Jordan's 41st
and 90th armored brigades, the air force's Helicopter Anti-tank Wing and
the Second Guards Brigade.

In 1993 he was appointed deputy commander of the Special Forces, assuming
command one year later.

Abdullah married Princess Rania in June 1993. They have a son, Prince
Hussein, and a daughter, Princess Iman.

Abdullah is a qualified frogman and pilot. His interests include car
racing, water sports, scuba

Comment: Clinton psalms off
Republican over brunch with GodBy Mark Steyn

 Prosecutors
lose the battle over Lewinsky

I want you to know that I care for you and I
love you, Oklahoma Republican Steve Largent told
the President, and that's one of the mysteries of
Jesus.
I'll say. They were both at the Hilton for the annual
National Prayer Breakfast, one of those opportunities to
flaunt his faith that Bill Clinton never passes up.
The President's religion is yet another mystery: in
one of the most striking examples of his ability to
compartmentalise, he strolled out of his
church after an Easter service, waved his trusty Bible
to the crowds, and then went back to the Oval Office to
observe the resurrection with Monica in a more personal
sense.
Mr Clinton is always talking about my
God, and you can't help feeling his God is a kind
of Vegas version of those Graeco-Roman types: a
celestial lounge act with cigar and martini, unwinding
in the hot tub with the angelic hostesses, the sorta God
who knows that what counts is not how much you forgive
but how much you've got to be forgiven for.
At yesterday's ecumenical breakfast, Bill Clinton's
God took His place with more traditional
Judaeo-Christian-Islamic models. The President was
joined by the nation's highest-rated radio scold, Dr
Laura, author of a new book on the Ten Commandments and
hence reluctant to concede the Clinton position that at
least three of them don't rise to the level
of impeachment.
Dr Laura's catchphrase is: I am my kid's
mom (if you want to learn more about her, there
are some nude photos on the Internet).
The event was chaired by Congressman Largent, a
rising Republican star who was chosen to give the
official response to Mr Clinton's State of the Union
address and laid out a compelling GOP platform - he
talked about country singer Vince Gill's Christmas album
and revealed that he'd been raised in a single-parent
household. Mr Largent's catchphrase is: I am my
mom's kid.
Other speakers included the President (I am my
intern's mentor) and the Vice-President (I
am my President's Vice-President). Also present
were both the man Mr Clinton kept waiting in the outer
office while he finished up with Monica, Yasser Arafat
(I am your President's 10 o'clock
appointment), and the first Democratic Senator to
criticise his leader, Joe Lieberman (I am my
party's only supporter to date of a bipartisan Finding
of Fact resolution).
Lord, hear his prayers, beseeched Senator
Lieberman. Help him with the work he's doing with
his family and his spiritual advisers.
Mr Clinton's certainly been doing a lot of work with
his spiritual advisers. In December, they issued a press
statement about which particular Psalm he'd be reading
in private during the final House impeachment vote.
The President's work with his family is less obvious.
At the prayer breakfast, he didn't so much as brush the
sleeve of the First Lady, to his right. On

Ah, yes, J.D. Quayle, lamenting having been "...told that traditional

originally was going to post just the Wash (DC) Post article with its
ominous references to and quotes from J. Danforth "Potatoe Man" Quayle.
Then I reflected on his activities to avoid VietNam and went searching for
some information -- basically digging through www.dogpile.com and found
nothing -- nothing but sites that catalogued every attempt of his to be
articulate and statesman-like (i.e., funnier than, well, ...). So, I

Dan Quayle on Getting Into the National Guard

I do -- I do -- I do -- I do -- what any normal person would do at that
age. You call home. You call home to mother and father and say, ``I'd like
to get into the National Guard.''
-- Senator Dan Quayle, 8/19/88 (reported in Esquire, 8/92)

There was no influence used. I didn't have to use any influence because
before I applied, there were openings, when I applied, there were openings,
and after I applied, there were openings. Those are the facts. And if
you're interested in the facts, there they are.
-- Senator Dan Quayle defending the way he got into the National Guard
(from `The Unofficial Dan Quayle Video').

I did not know in 1969 that I would be in this room today, I'll confess.
-- Senator Dan Quayle responding to questions in 1988 about allegations
that he used family connections to get into the Indiana National Guard
(reported in the Washington Post, 8/26/88).

When you get into conflict, and regional conflicts, I mean, you have to
have certain goals, and a goal cannot be really a no-win situation.
-- Senator Dan Quayle attempting to explain his military service during the
Vietnam war (reported in the Washington Post, 9/6/88).

Obviously, if you join the National Guard, you have less of a chance of
going to Vietnam. I mean it goes without saying.
-- Senator Dan Quayle discussing his draft record on NBC's `Meet the
Press', 9/20/92. (reported in the Houston Chronicle 9/21/92)

I got into the Guard fairly. There were no rules broken, to my knowledge...
I, like many, many other Americans, had particular problems about the way
the war was being fought. But yes, I supported my president and I supported

LOS ANGELES
If there's something that seems terribly familiar about the sights and
sounds of the new NBC miniseries "The '60s," debuting tonight during
February sweeps, it may be because you've seen this before, and recently.

A '60s retrospective?

It seems as if the decade never went away.

The touchstones of the counterculture – from the Volkswagen Beetle to
bell-bottoms – have long been adopted by Madison Avenue. Mercedes-Benz has
appropriated the peace symbol for its advertising campaign. The Jimi
Hendrix hit "Purple Haze" can now be heard on Muzak. The newest bluejeans
from the Gap? They're called "1969." And there is still a call for
"Revolution" – by Nike.

Because plenty of former campus radicals grew up to become the studio
chiefs, movie producers, CEOs, magazine editors and ad executives of today,
the cultural predilections of the baby boom generation have become the
reference points for the rest of the country.

"They're in their prime, they're in power, and one of those places they're
in power is in the media, so their self-obsessions tend to become
everyone's self-obsessions," says cultural critic Todd Gitlin, the former
president of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS), the leading national
New Left organization of the time. "The '60s have this aura of being not
just about their own youth, but about the youth of the 21st century. About
the collective youth."

This is cause for consternation to those who see the decade as a
destabilizing social upheaval whose destructive effects have yet to be
fully

Impeached POTUS

Blumenthal Busted by Fellow Journalist

Described Monica as a "stalker," then denied it under oath

A veteran British journalist and social friend of senior Clinton aide
Sidney Blumenthal has challenged Blumenthal's testimony that he had no
knowledge of any White House effort to paint Monica S. Lewinsky as a
"stalker."
In an affidavit signed Friday, Christopher Hitchens, who writes for
Vanity Fair and the Nation, said Blumenthal, at a lunch last March 19,
"used the word 'stalker' several times" in talking about Lewinsky.

At the lunch, also attended by Hitchens's wife, Carol Blue, Hitchens
said Blumenthal said Lewinsky "had been a 'stalker' and that the
President was 'the victim' of a predatory and unstable sexually
demanding young woman," according to the one-page affidavit. "Mr.
Blumenthal advised us that this version of the facts was not generally
understood" about President Clinton's relationship with Lewinsky.

Blumenthal had testified to the Senate that Clinton had mentioned the
word "stalker" in a conversation and felt himself a victim of Lewinsky's
advances.

A central allegation against Clinton in his impeachment trial is that he
had Blumenthal and others smear Lewinsky to undermine her credibility.
News media accounts disparaging Lewinsky sometimes cited White House
sources.

Blumenthal was asked in his Senate testimony whether he had "any idea
how White House sources are associated with statements such as . . .
'She's known as the Stalker.' Do you have any idea how that got in the
press?"

Blumenthal responded, "I have no idea how anything came to be attributed
to a White House source."

Yesterday, Blumenthal said in a statement: "My testimony to the Senate
was truthful. If someone is saying it's not, they are mistaken."

In the affidavit, Hitchens said he and Blumenthal "are social friends
and journalistic acquaintances" and that "I have knowledge that Mr.
Blumenthal recounted to other people in the journalistic community the
same story about Monica Lewinsky that he told me and Carol Blue."

One journalist who refused to be identified by name said last night that
he recalled in late spring hearing Blumenthal talk about Lewinsky being
troubled and Clinton having rebuffed her advances. But that journalist
said he had read much the same information months earlier.

Negative news accounts referring to Lewinsky's alleged obsession with
Clinton and with sex began appearing in the media several weeks before
Hitchens's lunch with Blumenthal. For example, a Jan. 29 article in The
Washington Post cited as sources Lewinsky's own friends and co-workers
and a former teacher from Portland, Ore., who had a five-year affair
with her.

Sources said House investigators, acting on a tip, called Hitchens to
ask about Blumenthal's statements and that Hitchens submitted the
affidavit.

Even without the Hitchens's affidavit, some Republican senators said
yesterday they believed Blumenthal was not telling the truth: "The great
irony of this is that he may be the other person who lied under oath and
he may have to do the time," said Sen. Larry E. Craig (R-Idaho).

The Washington Post, Feb. 7, 1999

Journalist Christopher Hitchens is claiming in a sworn affidavit that
Blumenthal described Monica Lewinsky as "a predatory and unstable
sexually demanding young woman" who stalked the president. According to
three sources, the Senate is in receipt of the affidavit, a copy of
which was obtained by Fox News Channel.

Hitchens said under oath that on March 19, 1998, he had lunch with
Sydney Blumenthal and another reporter at the Occidental restaurant in
Washington, D.C. At the meeting, the affidavit says, Blumenthal referred
repeatedly to Monica Lewinsky as a "stalker." Sources say the affidavit
makes it clear Blumenthal felt any journalist should consider the
Lewinsky scandal in that context.

This contradicts Blumenthal's Senate deposition Wednesday in which he
said he never passed on to reporters the president's comments to him, in
which he referred to Lewinsky as a stalker. "I have no idea how anything
came to be attributed to a White House source," he said in his
deposition.

"I never mentioned my conversation. I regarded that conversation as a
private conversation in confidence, and I didn't mention it to my
colleagues, I didn't mention it to my friends, I didn't mention it to my
family, besides my wife."

Hitchens' affidavit also quotes Blumenthal implying a plan to smear
Kathleen Willey, the former White House volunteer who claimed Clinton
had groped her. The affidavit says Blumenthal said Willey was highly
rated in public opinion polls, but said that would change when things
began to come out about her.

The British-born Hitchens, a longtime Beltway reporter, has been a

Deflation?

by Don L. Tiggre

Some months ago, a friend of mine who is a permanent tourist cautioned
me about impending deflation. I was skeptical, as the United States
hasn’t seen serious deflation since the last century (except for the
early 1930s), but he made some good points, and I tried to keep an open
mind about it. And now that I’ve been helping out at the local newspa
per, certain items among the countless bits of information that flow
across my desk have stood out and the pattern they suggest is as clear
as it is startling: a giant economic deflationary "adjustment" may well
be on its way.

The argument made by the tourist was that while the Fed and monetary
policymaking agencies around the world are still trying to control
inflation, economic forces are shifting around to create deflationary
pressures. This makes for a real possibility for turmoil when the
central planners are caught by surprise. Governments in Latin America,
Asia and Japan are not reacting to their on-going financial difficulties
with the necessary tough measures, such as closing factories and
shutting down mines that are not profitable. The massive unemployment
that would result would topple governments in many instances, so the
factories are kept open, and the TVs and barrels of oil continue to pile
up on the docks faster than markets can be found for them. The glut in
production will drive commodities prices down so hard and fast, the
argument goes, that even unbridled cranking of the printing presses will
not be able to keep up.

This argument was not easy to swallow whole. It seemed hard to believe
that the production of other commodities could overpower the production
of fiat currency. However, one part of the argument for an impending and
abrupt economic adjustment seemed quite solid: the focus central bankers
are still placing on "controlling" inflation. Not only that, but in the
world’s leading economies governments cannot easily resort to the
printing press: they manipulate money supplies by fiddling with interest
rates to expand or contract credit. This approach has its limits, as an
interest rate can only go so low. In Japan, for example, the prime rate
has dropped to almost zero.

Evidence concerning deflationary pressures in the U.S. economy is what
has me really wondering if catastrophic deflation could actually come to
G7 countries. For example, U.S. senators from states with a heavy
reliance on agriculture are working on a package of agricultural bills
they say will ease the increased financial burden farmers and ranchers
have faced the past few years—i.e. help them deal with falling prices.
Agricultural statistics for the year end of 1998 show widespread and
major drops in prices received for crops and livestock in the U.S., with
consequent increases in livestock inventory.

The Evidence from US Agriculture

According to Wyoming’s Senator Michael Enzi, the prices farmers and
ranchers receive for their commodities are at 20 and 30 year lows. Enzi
is cosponsoring a number of agricultural measures he says will help
people who work the land. One such measure would allow state inspected
meat to be sold across state lines when the state requirements meet or
exceed federal standards. The bill is supposed to increase inspection
efficiency and add marketing possibilities. "We already allow Canadian
and Mexican meat products to be sold in our nation, based on a promise
that those nations’ standards are the same as ours," said Enzi. "I find
it hard to believe our federal government trusts foreign inspectors and
not state inspectors. Ending this practice would cut some red tape and
free up domestic markets."

Enzi hopes to introduce a bill in the Senate in the next couple of
weeks, after finalizing details with House Agriculture Committee
Chairman Larry Combest of Texas. Dan Glickman, the Secretary of
Agriculture is also expected to issue a report by Mar. 31 on the effects
of the federal inspection on interstate distribution of state-inspected
meat. Of course, if Enzi and other republicans were as interested in
cutting red tape as they pretend to be, they’d just scrap the entire
government inspection process and let the market take care of quality
assurance. But still, as tiny as this easing of some regulations is, the
fact that any loosening of regulations is being proposed at all is a
sign of the deep economic trouble ranchers are in because of the
deflated value of their products.

Another concern the agricultural community has raised is the
consolidation in all areas of agribusiness. Senate Agriculture Committee
Chairman Richard Lugar held a hearing the week of January 25 focusing on
the issue. During the hearing Keith Collins, Chief Economist of the U.S.

Canada in a Skinner Box

by Peter Topolewski

In his still-radical 1971 book, Beyond Freedom Dignity, behaviorist
champion B.F. Skinner wrote about control, specifically how to control
behavior, and who should control it in order to ensure that mankind not
only survives but thrives. He called autonomous man, the inner man and
his will, a fiction created to explain the unexplainable.

He was speaking both psychologically and politically, and so his
theories are anathema to our tradition of man’s innate freedom and
dignity. Skinner declared autonomous man dead, bruising our pride and
leaving us, despite the vehemence of our libertarian mantras, to wonder
if our declaration of freedom has more smoke than substance. Under
Skinner’s light the history of man’s achievements looks frighteningly
unfamiliar, particularly when we admit that no where do humans live as
free individuals, only as controlled ones.

"Control" of itself is not bad. It is a fact of life and, as Skinner
puts it, is "ethically neutral". Questions of right and wrong pertain
only to how it’s used, and to what ends. On political control he wrote:
"A party in power may act primarily to keep its power, or to reinforce
those it governs (who in return keep it in power), or to promote the
state by instituting a program of austerity which may cost the party
both power and support." In Canada these days there is no way to know
whether the ruling party is acting for its own survival or that of the
country.

On the east coast of Canada is an island called Cape Breton. In the 19th
and early 20th century the coal in its soil was like the seed that grew
the nation. Cape Breton coal fed the construction of the railroad that
tied one coast to another, powered Canada’s industrialization, and
turned the engines that helped win World War One. The men who mined the
coal never grew rich, but they grew tough and dedicated and proud, kin
to the miners in America’s coal states. By World War Two, however, the
world worked on oil, and the way of life in Cape Breton was being
threatened. By the 1960’s there was no money to be made in Cape Breton
coal mining.

Controlling Coal Mining

The Canadian government thought otherwise. Specifically, the federal
government thought that it could make mining in Cape Breton profitable.
In 1967 it created Devco, a government-owned mining company. Last week
the federal government announced that Devco is closing, and this time
for good. The "for good" is an important addition to the government’s
statement because closure has been threatened many times in the
past—"for good" reason. The Devco 30 year track record is a dismal one:
thousands employed, years of restructuring, billions invested, and not
one year of profit to show for it.

This massive socialist experiment was of course not only a poor
investment for Canadian taxpayers, it was an unjust one. What began as a
government’s attempt to bolster Cape Breton’s mines turned into a huge
redistribution of wealth. Devco spent billions dressing up a dead
industry. Three generations of miners worked in what might as well have
been fantasy land, making false contributions, mining for mining’s sake.
Of course, with the government’s benevolence, the mining way of life
continued on Cape Breton; that was really the point all along.

In preserving their way of life, the miners were themselves not above
arrogance. By some unfathomable route – perhaps too immersed in an
industry without foundation – they came to actually see the largesse as
something Canada "owed" them. Government attempts to streamline Devco
were railed against. At times union contract negotiations turned to
violence. This past month, in the face of what the government calls
"assured closure," some miners appeared ready to restructure, but many
were still holding out hope that "it ain’t over". Hope is all that most
have. The government’s kindhearted foray into mining – entered into
despite the history of socialist failure – has created a culture and
countryside of miners. Seventeen hundred miners and their families who
grew up in the mining life—and who know nothing else—last week had that
life dismantled. It is easy for the government to say: It’s time for
Cape Breton’s economy to readjust and retrain. It is an altogether more
painful thing to do.

There is no way to know if the federal government ever believed Devco
could show a profit. In the end the only people truly helped by Devco
were the members of parliament elected to keep the checks coming.
Preserving a dying industry under false pretenses bought miners time,
but being more reliant on mining than ever has made the inevitable
transition hurt that much more. To the rest of Canada, Devco is another
of the

# El Niño Secrets in Old Egypt: Early Nile Records Valuable to Scientists.
WASHINGTON (AP) Scientists trying to unravel the mysteries of El Niño are
studying floods on the Nile, using data collected by instruments from the
days of the pharaohs. The annual Nile floods were vital to Egyptian agri-
culture, so ancient pharaohs introduced the nilometer, a device to measure
the height of the river flood. Now MIT researchers are finding those records
useful in estimating the frequency of the El Niño climate phenomenon in the

relatively frequent El Niños, similar to the pattern of the past 20 years.

The Occult Origins of the Bank of England

by The Magician

Much of the history of the last several hundred years can be interpreted
as the competition for power between the British Monarchy, or
"Perfidious Albion," and its allies, on one hand; and the Vatican and
its allies, on the other.

Of course, like any overriding theory, this one should not be pushed to
an extreme, and it doesn’t explain everything. But it explains a great
deal.

A key role in the course events initally took was played by John Dee,
the Neoplatonic Christian Cabalist and Scientific Advisor to Queen
Elisabeth. He introduced the idea that the inhabitants of Britain were
descendants of the lost tribes of Israel. It was all part of the British
propaganda barrage directed against the Vatican and the European Counter
Reformation in the Sixteenth Century.

Henry VIII Wants an Heir

Let’s start with Henry VIII. The king of England had not been able to
conceive a male heir with with his wife Catherine. So he wanted a
divorce, which he doubted the Pope would allow. Henry VIII sent his
secret agent Richard Croke to Venice in 1529 to consult with the
Christian Cabalist theologian Georgi, as well as Jewish Rabbis, on the
right way to biblically justify divorce and remarriage to the Pope.
There was a conflict between Leviticus and Deuteronomy whether a man
could marry his brother's widow, the grounds on which Henry VIII was
questioning the legality of his own marriage to Catherine.

This represented the beginnings of an alliance between the British
Monarchy and various Jewish groups. The divorce arguments, however, went
nowhere. No compromise was ever reached with the Pope. (The British
historian, Dame Francis Yates, tells the story in her book, The Occult
Philosophy in the Elizabethan Age.) So Henry VIII finally solved his
dilemma by wresting the Church of England out from under the Pope, and
proclaimed himself Head of the Church. Henry was now supreme leader,
both politically and spiritually, and did what he wanted with respect to
divorce and remarriage. (As for the heir, we now know that the
underlying infertility was Henry VIII’s own. But from such trivialities
do the major events of world history proceed.)

The Vatican was staggered. And it was furious. Not only had the head of
a leading nation defied the Pope’s authority in spiritual matters, but
this same king had set himself up as a rival Pope, so to speak. King
Henry VIII was an Anti-Pope. Or that’s how the Vatican saw it. The
Vatican and the Monarchy were now at war. The war of spiritual ideas and
spiritual concepts quickly became part and parcel of the geopolitical
war with the chief Catholic power, Spain.

Henry VIII’s seizure of the Church of England had to be justified to
English-speaking people in a spiritual sense. And so it was. The British
had a spiritual destiny, it was declared.

Information Warfare and John Dee

John Dee, the son of one of Henry VIII's court officials, grew up
surrounded by this controversy and the mystical currents concerning the
notion of British Empire. The latter involved a spiritual as well as a
geopolitical aspect: the British were to inherit the earth, and in the
process foster the spread of True Christianity. That is, not
Catholicism.

According to Geoffrey of Monmouth, the kings of Britain were descended
from Brut, of Trojan origin. King Arthur, one of Brut's descendants, was
considered the chief exemplar of sacred British Imperial Christianity.
John Dee identified with this Arthurian notion of Empire, as he believed
himself to be descended from the ancient kings of Britain, and was thus
himself a distant cousin of the Tudor Queen Elisabeth I.

The Tudor monarchy of Dee's time was glorified as the culmination of the
Arthurian tradition, because Henry VIII's break with the Vatican had
eliminated the Pope and made the British Monarch supreme in both church
and state.

Another line of thought led to the doctrine of British-Israelism, which
held that the British were the descendants of the lost tribes of Israel.
The doctrine of British-Israelism and the Lost Ten Tribes was intended
to forge a political alliance between the British monarchy and the Jews
of Amsterdam, through a merger of the Arthurian Imperial tradition with
Cabalistic interpretations of the Hebrew scriptures.

What had happened was that after the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in
1492, some of them went East to the Ottoman Empire—the Islamic world
being at the time more religiously tolerant than Christendom. Within
Europe itself many of the Jews moved to Italy, particularly Venice,
while other Jews and marranos migrated from Spain and Portugal to
Amsterdam.

The Jewish merchants and bankers of Amsterdam were seen by the

Disorder in the Court: a Collection of 'Transquips' Collected by
Richard Lederer, reprinted in N.H. Business Review

Most language is spoken language, and most words, once they are
uttered, vanish forever into the air. But such is not the case with
language spoken during courtroom trials, for there exists an army of
courtroom reporters whose job it is to take down and preserve every
statement made during the proceedings.

Mary Louise Gilman, the venerable editor of the National Shorthand
Reporter has collected many of the more hilarious courtroom bloopers in
two books - Humor in the Court (1977) and More Humor in the Court,
published a few months ago. From Mrs. Gilman's two volumes, here are
some of my favorite transquips, all recorded by America's keepers of
the word:

Q. What is your brother-in-law's name?

A. Borofkin.

Q. What's his first name?

A. I can't remember.

Q. He's been your brother-in-law for years, and you can't remember his
first name?

A. No. I tell you I'm too excited. (Rising from the witness chair
and pointing to Mr. Borofkin.) Nathan, for God's sake, tell them your
first name!

Q. Did you ever stay all night with this man in New York?

A. I refuse to answer that question.

Q. Did you ever stay all night with this man in Chicago?

A. I refuse to answer that question.

Q. Did you ever stay all night with this man in Miami?

A. No.

Q. Now, Mrs. Johnson, how was your first marriage terminated?

A. By death.

Q. And by whose death was it terminated?

Q. Doctor, did you say he was shot in the woods?

A. No, I said he was shot in the lumbar region.

Q. What is your name?

A. Ernestine McDowell.

Q. And what is your marital status?

A. Fair.

Q. Are you married?

A. No, I'm divorced.

Q. And what did your husband do before you divorced him?

A. A lot of things I didn't know about.

Q. And who is this person you are speaking of?

A. My ex-widow said it.

Q. How did you happen to go to Dr. Cherney?

A. Well, a gal down the road had had several of her children by Dr.
Cherney, and said he was really good.

Q. Do you know how far pregnant you are right now?

A. I will be three months November 8th.

Q. Apparently then, the date of conception was August 8th?

A. Yes.

Q. What were you and your husband doing at that time?

Q. Mrs. Smith, do you believe that you are emotionally unstable?

A. I should be.

Q. How many times have you committed suicide?

A. Four times.

Q. Doctor, how many autopsies have you performed on dead people?

A. All my autopsies have been performed on dead people.

Q. Were you acquainted with the defendant?

A. Yes, sir.

Q. Before or after he died?

Q. Officer, what led you to believe the defendant was under the
influence?

A. Because he was argumentary and he couldn't pronunciate his words.

Q. What happened then?

A. He told me, he says, "I have to kill you because you can identify
me."

Q. Did he kill you?

A. No.

Q. Mrs. Jones, is your appearance this morning pursuant to a
deposition notice which I sent to your attorney?

A. No. This is how I dress when I go to work.

THE COURT: Now, as we begin, I must ask you to banish all present
information and prejudice from your minds, if you have any.

Q. Did he pick the dog up by the ears?

A. No.

Q. What was he doing with the dog's ears?

A. Picking them up in the air.

Q. Where was the dog at this time?

A. Attached to the ears.

Q. When he went, had you gone and had she, if she wanted to and were
able, for the time being excluding all the restraints on her not to go,
gone also, would he have brought you, meaning you and she, with him to

I can't speak for AOL but as for this list the reason that it does not allow
discussion of holocaust denial is very simple, we had a bad experience with a
bunch of disrupters who were trying to turn the list into an Aryan nations rag
and Jew hater list. They dominated the forum and in an effort, after much
careful consideration and many miles of rope were given to them, to take back
control they were ejected from the list and the disclaimer was added. Many
who were on board then will tell you the same thing. I am refuting your
allegation, as to this list but as I said I have nothing to say in defense of
AOL. Holocaust denial and nazi propagandizers are not permitted and posts of
that nature are disallowed on this list. Proselytizing is forbidden because
many posts that dealt with religious conspiracy had many people quoting the
Bible at length and telling people on this forum that their souls were going
to burn in hell and that they better shape up. Invariably when these people
were confronted with contradictory information regarding their beliefs they
just resorted to "God said" and declared themselves the winner and everyone
else doomed. THUS proselytizing (and not just in religious areas either) is
not permitted BECAUSE their is no way to get "true believers" to recant their
position and agree that they are wrong since these things involve personal
belief and faith, which are both unassailable to rational argument. Things
would degrade to personal attack and diatribes which have no place here.

Re: [CTRL] AOL Conspiracy?

I can empathize with this statement! Still as far as CTRL is concerned, we are not
a debate list.. Overall, we throw out ideas and news and wait to see if someone else
is capable of finding or if they know something that disproves it.

To give you an idea - recently a box of Beetles photos were found in an attic. This
lead to the playing of John Lennin's song about everyone being the same (I forget the
tile). To me the 1960's were a time when people were fighting big business to evolve
to the next era. Live and Let Live, Viva La Difference! Think of John Denver (born
of a Air Force Test Pilot - what security clearance did his dad have), Coustou, Isaac
Asimov, Jaclyn Kennedy. These people are gone. What would they have been able to add
to this list? What did they know that they would have been told "Now is not the
time."

That Kennedy's death was to keep us from looking at what was really happening?
Where are the tax credits for solar energy (are they still there?) are there as many
companies
that are capable of researching solar energy?

They are going to air a special on Kennedy tonight, how are they attempting to write
history for the current generation? What was the real battle at that time? Does
anyone hear anything about MSG nowadays. Not to long ago it was a major thing to keep
it out of the food chain since it can excite brain cells to death. I apologize for
those that think of Kennedy as a shining part of the past - but his death was just to
side track people from the real issues. He was nothing more than the current
president during a time that this country was attempting to go forward. Going forward
in that was would have meant that they big corporations would not have had their
monopolies. So what do we have now? The World Bank.

Others that are (currently) still alive: Were they just singing the songs that would
sell, or could it be that they saw enough of what was happening that if asked (from
this mind set) that they might be able to tell you what kind of propaganda has been
Fosted on us?
Michael Martin Murphy "Osmosis", Michael McDonald-Kenny Loggins, Dolly Parton, Queen,
The Beach Boys. Add Ross Perot and ex-TX-speaker of the house White -- from their
angle, what would they see in this post - in this list?

Last question - why would people want to shut us list(s) like this? When they come on
list, will we bow to them? Will we recognize them or will we think that we are not
good enough, out of step with the times, that their criticisms are justified? Will
this list be efficient like the Nazis or effective like the Founding Fathers? I would
rather be effective than efficient, I abore efficiency, because it does not usually
only allows limited growth in one area. It makes the company reorganize often, as
soon as the company gets to be a certain size it realizes that it needs more ideas and
has to go outside the company to get them since they have kicked out all those
inefficient people that they could not completely utilize at that time.

Are these two diseases the result of specific microbes?

Vibrio Cholera spp is a flagellated microbe, whereas Dysentery can be caused
by amoeba [cf. amoebic dysentry]

However, there is an EPIDEMIC of Coliform Gastro Enteritis in Fife, from which
the young and the old and curious researchers are dying.
E.Coli IS an indication of Faecal Contamination in the water supply.

Exotic organisms can persist in soil if the physical conditions are right

E.Coli hangs in there.

The reasoning of Michael Estes would be correct if the political
philosophy of Fascism was specifically identified only with that of
German National Socialism of the 30s and 40s. However, fascism
originated as a specific political philosophy in Italy and the word is,
in fact, Italian. And, interestingly, I believe that one of the original
theorist was Jewish. It seems to me that it is your reasoning which is
faulty. It is not based upon an analysis of political philosophy of
fascism, but upon policies which may change from "fascist" regime to
"fascist" regime while the underlying political philosophy remains the
same. Fascism is based upon the idea of using the power of government
for the benefit of the people of a nation rather then the protection of
their individual rights. It is similar to Communism, but the government
controls industry through regulation rather then through direct
ownership. Minorities are suppressed in that they are seen to weaken the
state. In Germany that minority were the Jews, in Canada they may be
"holocaust deniers". In both cases their suppression was based upon the
perceived "good of the whole" rather then the protection of their
individual rights. In my opinion, governments which base their laws upon
the good of the many rather then the protection of individual rights
often develop laws which could be described as "fascist" for this reason.

A Man and His Frog

A man takes the day off work and decides to go out golfing.
He is on the second hole when he notices a frog sitting next to the
green.

He thinks nothing of it and is about to shoot when he hears, "Ribbit
9Iron".

The man looks around and doesn't see anyone.
Again, he hears, "Ribbit 9 Iron".

He looks at the frog and decides to prove the frog wrong.
He puts the club away, and grabs a 9 iron.
Boom! He hits the ball 10 inches from the cup. He is shocked. He says
to the frog, "Wow that's amazing. You must be a lucky frog, eh?"
The frog reply's, "Ribbit Lucky frog."
The man decides to take the frog with him to the next hole
" What do you think frog?", the man asks.
"Ribbit 3 wood."

The guy takes out a 3 wood and, Boom!
Hole in one The man is befuddled and doesn't know what to say.
By the end of the day, the man golfed the best game of golf in his
life and asks the frog, "OK where to next?"
The frog replies, "Ribbit Las Vegas."

They go to Las Vegas and the guy says, "OK frog, now what?"
The frog says, "Ribbit Roulette."

Upon approaching the roulette table, the man asks, "What do you think
I should bet? The frog replies, "Ribbit" $3000, black 6."
Now, this is a million-to-one shot to win, but after the golf game,
the man figures what the heck. Boom!

Tons of cash comes sliding back across the table. The man takes his
winnings and buys the best room in the hotel. He sits the frog down
and says, "Frog, I don't know how to repay you. You've won me all this
money and I am forever grateful." The frog replies, "Ribbit Kiss Me."
He figures why not, since after all the frog did for him, he deserves it.

With a kiss, the frog turns into a gorgeous 15-year old girl.

"And that, your honor, is how the girl ended up in my room so help me
God or my name is not William Jefferson Clinton."

[CTRL] Nothing (Else) Happened Today! (fwd)

1999-02-07 Thread Brian Redman

 -Caveat Lector-

NOTHING (ELSE) HAPPENED TODAY!
==

(CNNS, 02/07/99) -- By a strange coincidence, nothing happened
today except for the death of King Hussein, of Jordan.

The "Monarch of Modern Jordan" picked a lucky day to die. On
most other days it would be likely that other news would have
occurred, in such places as France, Finland, Iraq, Germany,
Israel, Ireland, China, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico or the United
States, for example. But by an unusual confluence of events, the
day of King Hussein's death, February 7, 1999, NOTHING HAPPENED
elsewhere, throughout the world.

On CNN's World News, the first 20 minutes of their half-hour
broadcast was devoted to maudlin perorations on the death of King
Hussein. Said Madeline Albright: "This sad death reminds me
that I too am mortal, and will die someday. My only hope is that
my death, like King Hussein's, will occur on a day when there is
no other news." Said Bill Clinton: "We are reminded today that
we all die. But will anyone notice when I die? I hope so."
Said Defense Secretary Bill Cohen: "Hundreds of thousands have
died in Iraq, but do they get mega-news coverage? But King
Hussein has truly won honor for conspicuous consumption of news
time."

CNN's World News of February 7, 1999, did allow 3 minutes of
coverage for the only other events connected with the day: (1)
war drums for Kosovo; (2) lullabies for the Clinton impeachment
trial. CNN World News then closed its worldwide broadcast with
yet more adolescent realizations that we all die, that King
Hussein has died, and that it's so sad that King Hussein has
died.

That's it! On February 7, 1999, nothing happened except King
Hussein's death. The Koran says, "It is written." In honor of
King Hussein the gods themselves have decreed that nothing else
happens on this day (or days.)

The Feds are NOT waiting until Y2K or for "supposed" attacks by
International or domestic "Terrorists" to start the rounding up of persons who
are gun owners, confiscating their weapons, and incarcerating them. First
they will meerly be sent to local jails...then all will be rounded up by the
feds, FEMA, our National Guard and the United Nations controlled foreign
hostile troops already imported here by Clinton.

To ALL Veterans:

I am starting a Civilians' training program and could use some help from
weapons and military operations experienced Veterans to train families and
individuals in how to protect themselves and their families. I also will be
training in Disaster and Emergency Medicine, HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials
operations), and anti-NBC - Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical warfare and
weapons of mass destruction purportedly to be perpetrated by supposed
International and Domestic "Terrorists" which are really the feds themselves.
Please contact me if you can help.

   Please act accordingly,
   Thank you, USCMike1

[GUNS]: BUFFALO NY FEDERAL GRAND JURY SUBPOENA FFL'S IN KENTUCKY FOR RECORDS
OF ALL SALES
from [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Date: Mon, 1 Feb 1999 22:51:43 -0500

ATTN: ALL FFL'S (Can anyone else confirm this message?).Bad news if this
can be verified. db.

[This is happening in the Louisville and Lexington area's, and who knows where
else too.]

I have in my sweaty little fist, a fax copy of a subpoena, delivered last
week to a Louisville FFL gun dealer. It is one of many which were served to
dealers in the Louisville area. (Since I will explain soon why YOU might be in
grave danger from this, you might want to contact your favorite dealer, to see
if HE got one of these, too!)

This subpoena is genuine - I've seen a few of them in my life! The
subpoena is for a Federal Grand Jury, in Buffalo, NY, convening February 10,
1999. It is issued by United States Attorney Denise E. O'Donnell, of the
Western District of New York, with the Assistant U.S. Attorney (and writer of
the subpoena) listed as Kathleen M. Mehltretter. Issued January 6, 1999, it is
for an appearance in that court, in Buffalo, to produce the following
materials:
   (1) Every sale, trade, or other transaction to any person or entity
since January 1, 1991 which involves any weapon that is capable of firing
ammunition 7.62 x 39 mm.; and
  (2) Every sale made to any of the below listed persons since January 1,
1991:
(I will omit the list of names. There appears to be only three
individuals, though the list includes what could be aliases for each.)
(In handwriting attached is the note: "copies of 4473")

What this is, folks, is a request for evidence that someone listed here
came into possession of a gun chambered for 7.62 x 39, possibly sold

#2 You do not support the freedoms of people to endanger and sacrifice

#3 or .. you are a two face hypocrite who denies others the same
freedoms you wish to grant drunks and dope users?

   Which is it Jethro?
((MY ANSWERS: #1 NO, the way you have stated it is do I support those groups
being allowed to sacrifice innocent victims, absolutely not, no one should be
allowed to hurt another (innocent) person, period. #2 That is correct I do
not support a persons freedom to harm others, I THOUGHT I MADE THIS CLEAR. #3
I don't want to give ANYONE the freedom to hurt others, period, whether dope
users or drunks, or Joe Tea-totaler either. AGAIN, you make the specious
argument that being allowed to drive drunk is THE SAME as harming or
"sacrificing" someone, IT IS NOT! UNTIL AN INJURY HAS BEEN DONE TO PERSON OR
PROPERTY NO CRIME HAS BEEN COMMITTED. It's simple, why can't you get it? NO
ONE HAS THE "RIGHT" TO HARM ANOTHER INNOCENT PERSON, PERIOD.

 ///
Your arguments are specious and you jump to ridiculous conclusions.
  My opinion of course.
The connections you make in your e-mails are not valid.
It boils down to freedom, as you say, but freedom to do as one pleases as
 long
as it does not hurt someone else or damage property that does not belong
 to
 you.
 \\\
 * Note how this one WILL NOT RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS.
((Done))
 * Next he says it is his opinion but he does not give HIS opinion of any
other possibilities then the 3 listed (THERE ARE NONE !)
((Done, No one has the right to harm others. Neither dope users, or drunks as
you say, nor someone who is perfectly sober. I support everyone's right to do
WHATEVER they want as long as they do no injury to person or property
(excluding their own). When injury is done they lose that right and should be
punished. Simple, that is the other option.))
 * The connections I make are not valid, but he has no reason why
they are not valid. His original arguments were it is the "freedom"
of people to endanger others and sacrifice a % of others so they
  can get their cookies off.
((Someone driving drunk is not a criminal since no damage has been done to
property or person just by his act of driving. You assume that he
automatically is guilty of killing or hurting property. Not so. If he
injures person or property he loses his rights and is subject to punishment.
PERIOD. Your arguments make assumptions that are invalid. People who take
drugs or drink are not universally "stupid" or "in a stupor" to such a point
that they AUTOMATICALLY kill or injure.))
Every one of my examples fit HIS arguments.
((NO they don't. You address nothing directly.))
 * Next he says people should have their freedoms as long as it does not
harm others, BUT THE FACT IS dopers/drunks... when in a stupor DO
Cause us to pay higher taxes, cause us to pay higher insurance, injure
 and kill
 innocent people !
((So do SOBER PEOPLE who have never had a drink. Or perhaps you deny that
anyone who is sober does anything that causes your taxes or insurance to go
up? Does your criteria support these people's punishment? I ask you, should
they be punished to? ))

Your observation of the differences in difficulties between our
situation in N. America and in other parts of the world is precisely why
I spend my time in studying the messages on this list and responding to
many. In Hitler's 1924 "Mein Kamph", he made fairly clear his plan for
Germany. Most did not seem to understand the ramifications of his plan.
Likewise, many do not seem to understand the ramifications of the plans
of the elite of our country. There were many steps taken before war and
the gas chambers. Some of these steps have been taken in the western
nations. It is important to understand the potentials, attempt to stop
further steps in this direction, retract these steps if possible, and
prepare for their result if this is not possible.

Read the disclaimer. Realize that this list belongs to someone else and that

start your own list. Simple, isn't it. Now as far as disruptive goes, FWP
