And that's why people came with Open Source concept. Historically, proprietary platforms have been eliminated or converted to either completely Open Source or partially, similar to what Apple did: the platform is semi-open in the sense that nothing goes to Production without their validation and approval. I believe this model could work very nicely for Elecraft. Publish the bare-bones design and have the community take a stab at it. You could still maintain the basic approach and have some immutable things in there, that we can't change. But majority of these requests are outside of the basic design. Such model allows a company to maintain a relatively small support staff but still be out there as far as usability and community support. Here is something important: I have about 20 users that bought the radio because of my software. It hides the complexities and makes it very easy to use. Is this against the Elecraft wishes for their radio? I have to think so since I have 4 times requested to have my software listed on the Elecraft Website, under third party software and even Eric asked me to send a blurb but I never got a response at all. 4 times over 1 and 1/2 years. So, unless many users ask for something on the forum, the priority is low. If a developer who has a few hundred users asks for something in a nice way, several times, it’s ignored. So is this the future of Elecrafts third party support? Does my name have to be J** to get something done? Using Wine is not really Linux. Wine is the Windows emulator for Linux and like all emulators (mostly) it has issues with hardware. A weighted tennis ball (of a BRIGHT color so it can be seen) is simple to make an accurate shot; can pass through, then be pulled to earth by the increased mass. If you clear the tree and want to shorten the flight path, simply touching the fishing line stops momentum immediately, the ball falls. So there are several options, some safer than others, some more expensive and they all work. What works best for you is the choice but please be safe and wear a hardhat. I've also seen someone using the antenna launcher to shoot tennis balls for their dog to chase. A 100 yard shot is pretty easily done. By the time the (tiring) dog came back with the ball, the launcher was ready to shoot again. 73, Rick, WA6NHC iPad = small keypad = typos = sorry ;-) On Jun 26, 2014, at 3:02 PM, Tony Estep estept...@gmail.com wrote: On Thu, Jun 26, 2014 at 2:19 PM, Phil Hystad phys...@mac.com wrote: I'm getting pretty good with the bow arrow method === For years I used a slingshot, firing a weight attached to a spinning reel. Re: [Elecraft] Using a KAT-500 and THP HL-1.5KFX
Guys, all you have to do is get Fred Kady's book: http://www.elecraft.com/elecraft_prod_list.htm#kpa500 At the bottom of the KPA500 order page. You'll see it. It lists every possible scenario of connecting these items together. And a lot of other things you're gonna wanna know about integrating these devices. You must do this before selecting an antenna. If using enhanced band switching, the tuner reads the band automatically. *Tap the KAT500 ANT to select the required antenna. *Tap the KAT500 MODE to select AUTO or MAN. oTap the KAT500 TUNE. The AUTO or MAN LED will start to flash. oHold the K3's TUNE to apply power to the KAT500 and it will find the best match that it can and then stop. The SWR LEDs will show the tuning progress and the tuner will stop clacking its relays when it finds the best VSWR. oTap the K3's TUNE to stop transmitting. *After training the tuner, you should save the configuration file. If you have trouble with your tuner, the configuration file can be sent to Elecraft Support of in-depth analysis. Hint: When training your tuner for various operating frequencies, it is useful and instructive to monitor the tuner's operation with the KAT Utility Operate screen. Re: [Elecraft] KAT500 assembly
Oh, and one question: what do people do with all these power cables? So K3 has one RCA 1A power outlet on the back, right? And i'm using that for the P3. Now i need one for the KAT500 and one for the W2. W2 came with a pre-made cable that is meant to go into the K3 (taken by the P3). So i'm guessing i'd have to make up a new one and use power poles? Looks like KPA500 doesn't have a power socket on the back like the K3, so i can't run anything off of it, right? Re: [Elecraft] How to Convert Individ. Email Status to Digest?
I do the same thing: separate Elecraft folder in my Gmail-based google apps email. And I also made the filter to bypass the Inbox and only apply the Elecraft label (archive right away). This way my unread message count does not include the Elecraft messages. So whenever I have the time - I just navigate to the Electaft label and read whatever new messages had arrived. I find this approach less distracting. Re: [Elecraft] Problems with erratic USB/serial connection
Hi all! After seeing all the potential issues with various USB-to-SERIAL converters i decided to go a different route: picked up this Gearmo 4-port dongle on Amazon for $48. It uses an FTDI chipset and a single USB port gives me 4 DB9 RS232 ports. It also seems to keep the COM port numbering constant. Oh, and i'm using it on my MacBook Pro, running Windows 7 (32bit) in Parallels. Works famously so far (been a few months now). Hooked it up via the LP-Bridge program, and now i can turn the radio off (K3) without HRD crashing. I'm only using 2 COM ports right now: one for the LP-Bridge/K3 and another for this ERC rotor ad--on card that i just assembled last weekend. Brought my ancient CDE HAM IV control box into the 21st century. Anyways, this Gearmo dongle seems like a really good alternative for Macs and PCs that don't have native RS232 ports. Hi Slava, A de-esser works in the 6-8 kHz range, and you need it in a studio, especially with mics like the SM58 that are sibilant, it's totally useless for ham radio. If you want to use an SM58, you can run it straight into the front panel mic input with a suitable adapter -- pin 2 of the XLR is hot, pin 3 and pin 1 get tied together and go to the connector shell. The K3 has excellent EQ and compression built in, so you've got a lot of stuff there that you don't need. The SM58 is an singer's vocal mic, it has proximity effect, which adds a lot of bass that must be equalized out. Pro mics are overkill for ham radio (in terms of cost), but if you want to use one, go for one of the EV variable-D mics -- RE10, 11, 15, 16, 18. No proximity effect, no sibilance. Another issue with trying to use a pro mic in ham radio is that ham mics have presence peaks around 3 kHz to compensate for the rolloff of the crystal filter, so you must add that with an equalizer. The TXEQ in the K3 works VERY well for that. Before W6XU turned me onto the Yahama CM500 headset, I was using an RE16 from my stash of recording mics, on an AKG boom. Worked fine, I got great reports, but the CM500 is $60, and sounds great too. So line-in is taken. I can't put a Y cable there because, correct me if i'm wrong, every time Signalink would key up - the mic would go live. So that's not an option for me. I think its a lot easier to just hit a couple of buttons and switch to the front panel mic for digital work, isn't it? And the rear mic won't go live either. As far as audio interface goes, yes, i have an E-mu 0404 USB that i can use. But signalink works just fine. No drivers to install. And it has just enough controls. If you're happy with it, use the Line In. But remember that it has a Pin One Problem, so you could run into RFI with it. I really don't see why i would need a studio quality sound card for PSK31. See my exchange with N7WS about that in this thread -- a better sound card can improve linearity at the bottom of the dynamic range. In fact, you need a decent USB sound card a LOT more than all that outboard gear. The 0404 is overkill, although nice if you want to feed a spectrum display using NaP3. The Signal Link may be good enough -- the cheap Numark and somewhat nicer Tascam certainly are. I use the CM500 plugged into the rear panel mic and headphone jacks, assign the Headphones + Speaker toggle to one of the PF keys. That lets you use the K3's excellent audio processing, get rid of all that outboard gear, and makes it very easy to switch from SSB to digital modes. 73, Jim K9YC Retired audio professional __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to sla...@nullserv.com __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

FWIW, the SignalLink box is highly overrated, thanks to advertising by those who sell it. And help info on the DX Engineering website to solve RFI issues strongly suggest that it has a Pin One Problem. Hello again, everyone! I just installed the K3EXREF board in my K3 and i also have the KTCXO3 unit in there from before. The idea was to use the XG3 as the external 10 MHz reference for calibration. I wasn't thrilled with the accuracy of the zero-beat method that i was using (or rather i wasn't thrilled with MY accuracy). I think i did the procedure correctly: went to REF CAL menu, enabled the K3EXREF, hooked up the BNC cable, the asterisk started flashing, the frequency changed (clearly the zero-beat i did before wasn't correct). My only question is about the output level of the XG3: i used the zero dBm. But the calibration procedure mentioned that the reference signal should be between +4 dBm and something else (higher). XG3 doesn't seem to go that high though. Is that ok? Using zero dBm for this? Thanks in advance! But if i try to do the same by clicking on the BandMap call signs - i can only do that if the K3 is on the same band as being displayed on the BandMap screen. If the K3 is on 20 meters and i'm looking at the BandMap screen for, say, 15 meters and i try clicking on a call sign - K3 clicks, trying to switch to that band and then clicks right back to where it was before. Is that by design? Anyone else notice that? Again, i can do this from the DX Cluster view by double-clicking on a spot. And K3 will switch to whatever band the spot was on. But from the BandMap view I can only change frequency if the band matches that of a K3. Thanks a bunch in advance! Re: [Elecraft] [Elecraft_K3] P3 beta software with noise blanker
Hi everyone! Is there a reason why you can't save the P3 settings using the P3 Utility, like we do in the K3 Utility? Also, not sure if anyone saw this but would it be possible to keep the last used label highlighted on the screen? When you press any of the FN* buttons - to keep the label lit up on screen? Makes it a lot easier to see what the current setting is, especially if its being used for the SPAN. Thanks! Now with the P3 NB engaged this annoyance is eliminated. Great job! As always, beta test firmware may have new issues that we haven't caught during field testing. Please report them to k3supp...@elecraft.com. This version has a number of enhancements and bug fixes as described in the p3fwnotes.rtf file. The major new feature is noise blanking. Below is some explanatory text that I will be submitting to add to the P3 Owner's Manual. Enjoy! Alan N1AL = Noise Blanker The noise blanker in the P3 reduces the effect of impulse-type noise on the display. It has little or no effect on other types of noise such as thermal noise and static crashes but can dramatically reduce impulse noise from sources such as the AC power line and the ignition systems of motor vehicles. The noise blanker is turned on or off using the menu entry NB En, which can be assigned to a function key for easy access. You can adjust the aggressiveness of the noise blanker algorithm with the menu entry NB Level. The higher the setting the more completely it blanks the noise but also the more likely it will cause distortion of desired signals. Use the lowest setting that effectively blanks the noise. A value of about 10 or 11 is a good starting point for experimentation. Note that the REF LVL and SCALE settings have no effect on the noise blanker. If there are one or more very strong signals within the P3 displayed frequency range, the noise blanker has a hard time detecting the difference between the unwanted pulses and the wanted signals. The solution is to narrow the span and/or offset the center frequency (perhaps using fixed-tune mode) to place the strong signals well outside the P3's display range. === __._,_.___ Reply via web posthttps://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Elecraft_K3/conversations/messages/20555;_ylc=X3oDMTJyOGs2aTZsBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwMTQ5NDI4BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARtc2dJZAMyMDU1NQRzZWMDZnRyBHNsawNycGx5BHN0aW1lAzEzOTgzNzAzOTM-?act=replymessageNum=20555 Reply to sender a...@elecraft.com?subject=Re%3A%20P3%20beta%20software%20with%20noise%20blanker Reply to group elecraft...@yahoogroups.com?subject=Re%3A%20P3%20beta%20software%20with%20noise%20blanker Start a New Topichttps://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Elecraft_K3/conversations/newtopic;_ylc=X3oDMTJmcXR1bDNmBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwMTQ5NDI4BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARzZWMDZnRyBHNsawNudHBjBHN0aW1lAzEzOTgzNzAzOTM- Messages in this topichttps://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Elecraft_K3/conversations/topics/20555;_ylc=X3oDMTM3djcwazA4BF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwMTQ5NDI4BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARtc2dJZAMyMDU1NQRzZWMDZnRyBHNsawN2dHBjBHN0aW1lAzEzOTgzNzAzOTMEdHBjSWQDMjA1NTU-(1) Visit Your Grouphttps://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Elecraft_K3/info;_ylc=X3oDMTJmc3ZnNXFyBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwMTQ5NDI4BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARzZWMDdnRsBHNsawN2Z2hwBHN0aW1lAzEzOTgzNzAzOTM- - New Membershttps://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Elecraft_K3/members/all;_ylc=X3oDMTJnYjhtcWdtBF9TAzk3MzU5NzE0BGdycElkAzIwMTQ5NDI4BGdycHNwSWQDMTcwNTA2MzEwOARzZWMDdnRsBHNsawN2bWJycwRzdGltZQMxMzk4MzcwMzkz 1 [image: Yahoo! Here's another one: has anyone here ever ordered anything from Idiom Press? I'm really at a loss here... I ordered this RotorEZ board to give me a serial port on an older CDE HAM-IV rotor/control box. This was around March 31st time frame. I don't even know if they are still in business... I do see a charge on my card for April 11th, but even that is not for the full amount that i ordered. Still, no response, nothing... The other 3 have yet to be assigned. Averaging: 2 or sometimes 3 [exactly the opposite of Jim's setting :-))]. My screen is split in the middle and I use the monochrome waterfall setting [colorblind, thanks Alan!]. I haven't used the PEAK function since I first tried it out. I can tell the difference [barely] between the VFO A and VFO B cursor unless I'm split, then they look the same. I've gotten fairly adept at keeping track of VFO B and haven't incurred the wrath of the UP Cops in a long time. The two MKR cursors look the same to me but since they appear in the WF, I distinguish them from the VFO cursors easily. I've used MKR A a bit, usually when looking a a single signal's spectrum, I've never used MKR B and I've never QSY'd with the cursors. I run the dBm scale on the ordinate and normally have the REF LVL set so the noise is right on the baseline and the top of the spectrum display is -100 to -95 or so. My K3 S-meter is in absolute mode and I calibrated it to -73 dBm = S9 with my service monitor. Running it like this, the background of the WF is black and signals even right at the noise floor will trace visible lines. Re: [Elecraft] 756ProIII vs K3
You know, the interesting thing about Elecraft and the K3 in particular is that one can form an opinion of it's superiority ONLY after using it it for a little while. I don't think it can be done by just looking at it. In fact, by just looking at it for a few minutes one forms the exact opposite opinion. When i built my K3 (SN 8086) - i had a bunch of ham buddies come and take a short look at it. I could see it in their faces: this guy's an idiot for paying almost $4300 for THIS?!?!?!? Only one of these guys actually sat down and drove it for a few minutes. He then told everyone that it has to be the quietest and most adjustable receiver he'd ever seen. And naturally people take it with a grain of salt because they'd already seen it and they couldn't possibly be wrong about it, right? But i just smile and grin to myself anytime a conversation about my K3 surfaces. i KNOW what i bought :-) And that's all that matters. Thanks, Elecraft. P.S. BEfore i ordered my K3 - i made Wayne (or Eric) and Lisa promise me that K4 won't be announced any time soon :-) So all this talk about it is premature at best. Sorry. Re: [Elecraft] K3 First Impressions
Hi David! Congrats on the K3! I'm no expert, having just built mine few weeks ago, but where did you connect your Sub RX antenna input to? IS it connected to the RX ANT bnc or to the KAT3? If BNC - then yes, you would need to connect the actual receive only antenna. I connected mine to the KAT3, so that i could pick and choose which antenna to use for the Sub RX. Right now it shares the same antenna as used by the main receiver. I'm sure others will chime in... Enjoy the rig! I did a very short, (didn't take too long to see the difference), A/B, and things on the K3 are clearer, cleaner, and easier to understand, while on the Pro 3, they are buried in noise, and not quite as understandable. CW is a dream on the K3. The dial up filters are marvelous for CW. I can't wait to get familiar enough with the K3 to start pile up running on CW. The K3, (at this time), feels a lot more difficult to operate than the Pro 3, however I am sure this is because I used the Pro 3/2 combo for many numbers of years, and have all of 48 whole hours on the K3. There is a learning curve, but that is fine, I have no issue with that. The book by KE7X is very helpful, and fills a huge hole in documentation that exists for the newcomer to the K3. I also gained a HUGE amount of desktop space, as the Pro 3 had the PS and external Speaker attached to it. I will be putting up a pair of speakers for the K3 later today, on a different shelf. I kind of like the minimalistic look of the operating position now. I coupled the install of the K3, with a full station rebuild. Starting with the grounding system, and ending with little wire hangers so I can pull the desk out and clean behind it as needed. It had been something like 10 years since the last full shack cleanup so you can imagine what it looked like. I have a pile of extra cables now... About the only thing that has me stumped so far is the use of the Sub RX. I suspect it is listening to the RX Antenna input, because I get no signals on it at all. I am sure as I work through things I will find that is the case. I'll post photos on my web page if anyone actually wants to see the installed station. I'll include photos of the back of the station and the cable runs as well. That will be in a week or so. Many thanks to all that helped me select the K3, and answered the large number of questions I had. You all helped me in deciding to purchase this rig, and I am not unhappy at all with it. -- Thanks and 73's, For equipment, and software setups and reviews see: www.nk7z.net for MixW support see; http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mixw/info for Dopplergram information see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/dopplergram/info for MM-SSTV see: http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/MM-SSTV/info __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to sla...@nullserv.com __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com
[Elecraft] Just built my new P3
Well, i guess i'm one step closer to completing my K-Line... Just built my new P3 that i received today (SN 3157). Very nice! Its no LP-Pan/NaP3, i tell you that, but it doesn't require a computer, so that's the major advantage. I've gotten pretty used to using the NaP3 on my Mac, click/drag and such. I guess i'll get used to the P3 just the same. Gonna start saving my pennies for the amp now... Hopefully by Dayton i'll be good to go. So much more stuff that i wanna get from Elecraft (W2, XG3). Hey guys! What are these red LEDs that are flashing inside my new P3? Just noticed it when looking at the back of the unit through that clear square plastic window that's covering that empty future port of some kind. [Elecraft] Using the K3 ACC socket
Hi everyone! I have a question about the ACC socket on the K3. I saw on HamNation that Icom IC-7000 gives you this ACC pigtail cable with all the leads marked, so that you could plug it in and easily pick out the pins you need to use for whatever it is you're doing. Does Elecraft have something like that available? I couldn't really find one... Instead, i saw this thing online: http://www.winfordeng.com/products/brksd15hd.php Its a DB15HD breakout connector that gives you screw terminal for each of the pins (K3 does have the regular Female DB15 High Density, 3-row connector, right?). Is that something that you guys are using? This site seems to have a lot of these sort of connectors... Thanks! However, I’m puzzled by the how the S-meter is behaving. It seems to be inversely proportional to the RF gain. With the RF gain all the way CCW, all segments of the S-meter are lit. With the RF gain at 12 o’clock, half of the segments are lit. Changing bands has no apparent effect on the S-meter reading, and it’s rare that any but the strongest stations has any effect on the meter. And, with the RF gain fully CW, a few segments are lit (depending upon the noise level in the band). This seems backwards to me, but this is my first HF rig, so maybe it’s supposed to behave this way? Maybe I have some config setting messed up? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed on this! Re: [Elecraft] K3 - Ergonomics
I'm a new ham and an even newer K3 owner. For anyone who is function over form any day, like me - Elecraft's learning curve is the whole point! If i had a radio for which i didn't even need to open the manual - i'd be bored with it in two days and probably wouldn't use it or care for it as much. I did get the SS Hardware upgrade by the way (just in case, just because it was merely $20 after spending over $4K). They use real good components for the critical parts but also use the real cheapest components for the rest. It is nothing wrong with Elecraft in terms of cost engineering and it is indeed a challenge to the design engineer as well. As a result, you are now getting a tin box (yes, the advantage is light weight) but with excellent specifications in numbers. I never gave a high score for the ergonomic of elecraft radios. The screws in my K3 rust as well and this never happens in any of my other radios. From time to time, I have been asked by local hams about my comments about elecraft radios. I always say that elecraft radios are excellent but users have to face a deep learning curve. I need to read the manuals from cover to cover as well as KE7X's books. To conclude, I would consider Elecraft radios are really good but I have to accept less favourable ergonomics and relatively primitive enclosure and screws (yes, I know I can pay merely USD20 for stainless steel screws for an over $2.5k radio). 73 Johnny VR2XMC K2, K3, KX3, KAT500, KPA500, P3 寄件人︰ Bill W2BLC w2...@nycap.rr.com 收件人︰ elecraft@mailman.qth.net 傳送日期︰ 2014年04月3日 (週四) 6:19 PM 主題︰ [Elecraft] K3 - Ergonomics In a post speaking to the Sherwood chart, it was said, too many people jump on one number to rate (rank) equipment and totally disregard things like ergonomics (If they didn't the K3 would be at the bottom of the list). What is so bad about how the K3 is designed (ergonomics)? This is not the first time I have seen this said. I do not find it particularly challenging to use the panel controls or the menus - but, maybe that's just me. Is it the lack of curves and swirls or plastic molding? I go for functionality of design - not eye candy. The only thing I did to improve the controls on my K3 was to add a TenTec tire to the main VFO knob - it increases the diameter slightly and has a nicer feel to it than hard plastic. [Elecraft] K3 interface to Signalink USB question
Hello everyone! I have a Signalink USB box that I'd like to interface with my new K3. From what I understand the preferred connection method is via the rear Line-In/Out jacks, right? I am using those with my rack audio gear, though (xlr mic/EQ/mixer/etc). What would you guys suggest that I do? Can/should I use the front mic connector (it is the standard Kenwood 8-pin pinout, right?). Or is it possible to connect the Signalink inline with the audio stuff, between the rack and the K3? Also, I have a new LP-PAN with an E-mu 0404 sound card that I haven't connected yet. So I wonder if that can somehow be used for the Signalink. I also have an iPlus box (FYI). Re: [Elecraft] K3 interface to Signalink USB question
Thanks everyone! Don, will this setup liven up the mic? Or is there a way to just switch to front panel mic input only when using SL USB? I mean I know I can set the menu option to fp mic. But if I didn't and SL USB keyed up the rig - my actual mic would be live, right? Set the SignaLink for mic level output rather than line level (see the SignaLink documentation). Turn bias off for the front mic. It is feasible that you could feed the SignaLink into your audio rack, but it should not run through any of the conditioning mechanisms. If you do that, you would want to kill all other inputs to your audio rack and just run the SignaLink 'straight through' to the Line In on the K3. Whether that is possible or not depends on the capabilities of your mixer. 73, Don W3FPR On 3/26/2014 12:36 PM, Slava Baytalskiy wrote: Hello everyone! Re: [Elecraft] New Elecraft owner.
Hello again, Elecraft-ers! Just finished the first part of the assembly process. Took about 6 hours yesterday and about 3 hours today... Got the K3 calibrated (somewhat). Interesting thing: the TX Gain (5W) calibration failed using the Mac but succeeded using the same Mac but running the K3 Utility in Win7 running in Parallels. Not sure what that’s about… I’m a bit unclear on the KTCXO (i bought the 1 ppm unit) calibration process (i don’t have a freq counter on hand). Trying to use the WWV process. I think i got those zero-beat tones right but i’m not 100% on this. Now its time to power it off and install the rest: KRX3 and KPA3. That’s it! Done! Wow, what a job this was… Got the K3 all built and configured. Well, the necessary post-build configuration, that is. What is this weird descending tone when i was configuring the 100w amp unit? Is that normal? Seems to be gone now… The 5w and 50w TX Gain calibration went through fine. I guess i’ll listen to 10m tomorrow, when its light out. My hex beam project has not yet started so i’m limited to 10/12/15/17/20 meters with a 10m vertical (SPT-500) antenna.
