[FairfieldLife] Now This is Scary

Indiana’s Republican governor, Mike Pence—Trump’s running mate—has sent state
troopers
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/10/15/group-accuses-mike-pence-of-voter-suppression-after-state-police-raid-registration-program-in-indiana/
into more than half of the state’s counties to conduct “investigations” into
potential voter fraud.
In one county alone, state troopers seized application papers
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/10/15/group-accuses-mike-pence-of-voter-suppression-after-state-police-raid-registration-program-in-indiana/
for more than 45,000 newly registered black voters—effectively keeping
http://www.patriotmajority.org/news_and_events/2016-10-pences-state-police-trying-to-rig-2016-elections
them from voting in what is likely to be close presidential and Senate
contests in the state. Multiply that sort of seizure of newly registered voter
papers in 50-plus counties in Indiana by state troopers conducting
investigations, and it’s likely more than enough to make a difference in a
close contest.
Pence officials have said that the state police investigations are legitimate
and that they believe instances of voter fraud will be found. But this looks
mostly like voter suppression, conducted under the guise of an investigation of
voter “fraud” (which, again, is essentially nonexistent in America). It’s more
likely it has one simple, direct goal in mind: to disenfranchise voters. In
this case, the goal would seem to be to keep newly registered black voters from
supporting either Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton or Senate
Democratic candidate Evan Bayh.
Pence actively supports these efforts. In a video of one of his campaign
events
http://www.mediaite.com/online/pence-tells-rallygoer-dont-say-that-in-response-to-cry-for-revolution/,
for instance, an audience member said: “One of the things that a lot of us are
scared of is this voter fraud. I’m ready for a revolution, because we can’t
have her in (office).” Pence responded, “Don’t say that,” and started backing
away from her. But once he was beside the podium, Pence touted the state
trooper voter fraud investigations in dozens of Indiana counties. “There’s a
revolution coming on November 8th, I promise you,” Pence said. “I’ll tell you,
in the state of Indiana right now, we’ve got a pretty vigorous investigation
into voter fraud going on.”

Compared to voter fraud, voter intimidation, is a much more insidious (and
potentially dangerous) method of trying to win by keeping the other side from
even showing up at polls. This is the tactic that Trump and his
super-surrogate, Rudy Giuliani, have begun to deploy in recent days by actively
encouraging their supporters to go to polling places in the suburbs and urban
areas to “monitor
http://www.cnn.com/2016/10/16/politics/rudy-giuliani-rigged-elections-donald-trump/index.html”
 activities.

Do the jihadists know that the planets Mars and Saturn are manipulating them to
persecute Christians and others in the name of Allah? In other words, they've
lost control of their minds and conscience due to the effects of planetary
transits. Are they biological robots or human beings with consciousness? At
worst, they are biological systems possessed by the devil or Lucifer.

The persecution Christians are facing under ISIS is unprecedented, but it also
goes far beyond the so-called Islamic State.

[FairfieldLife] Now it can be told: REAL FACTS ABOUT TM -- Re: Duveyoung highly dishonest

2015-07-16 Thread Duveyoung

(I have no position , payment from or financial interest in the TMO. I don't
need any such motivation to want to warn people that 99 percent of what you say
here is fabrication.)

Of course a paid shill would say such a thing, so we don't know if it's true or
not.
Meanwhile, note the exaggeration: 99%...fabrication. That's the tell --
that's how you identify a person with an agenda.

I have an agenda, yep, so it's okay if a pus-sucking-putz does too -- fair is
fair.

But, sheeesh, 99%?

Confession: I exaggerate for effect. BAM...there, satisfied?

But if you were a serious person instead of a probable-bath-fart-bubble
smeller, I'd wither your brains with data that the TMO has tried to suppress
across the decades. I don't need exaggerations to prove a point; I need them
to get people to try to figure out what the real point is. If I just tell the
truth, people don't get serious enough for my taste.I want folks steamed.

You want REAL ABSOLUTELY TRUE STATEMENTS

HERE:
There was a real murder by a real meditator on TMO related property. What is
false in this statement?
That murder was avoidable if the TMO ON CAMPUS had done the legally required
thing when the pen incident happened. What is false in this statement?

Many women have said Maharishi Mahesh Yogi had sex with them. What is false in
this statement?

There have been campus suicides. What is false in this statement?

The course office will pull your badge, and you cannot find out why. What is
false in this statement?

There's a good chance that, heh go figure, 99% of the TMers in town know about
Bev and Hag's sexual exploits. What is false in this statement?

The TMO had their teachers gaining thousands of dollars-worth of credits
towards future courses, and then the TMO simply took that money away from most
of those teachers who couldn't immediately use the credits because of other
real-world necessities. What is false in this statement?

There's dozens of stories and testimonies in town of international money
laundering. What is false in this statement?

There are REAL boys behind a barbed wired enclosed compound and they are so
abused that they even broke out in a protest that had to have the cops called.
What is false in this statement?

Anyone in Fairfield can tell you a story or several about folks who relied on
TMO's Ayurveda health advice instead of Western Medicine and ended up worse or
using Western Medicine at the very end when it's too late. Many of Ayurvedic
medicines had to be smuggled into the USA because they had illegal amounts of
mercury in them. What is false in these statements?

The vast majority of TM related science is obviously biased. What is false in
this statement?

The TMO's top leaders have been caught, again and again, in scandals of every
sort. Many went to prison, millions of dollars were fraudulently bilked,
women drugged and raped, etc. What is false in this statement?

Do I need to continue? The above TRUE FACTS are enough to send anyone running
at top speed AWAY from the TMO. No matter how good the technique, the results
in these evil personalities shows that the technique DOES NOT AFFECT MORALITY.

[FairfieldLife] Now Online: Air Force UFO Files

John Greenewald's efforts pay off with website culled via Freedom of Info Act

By Jenn Gidman, Newser Staff
Posted Jan 19, 2015 1:21 PM CST

(Newser) – In the latest one-stop shopping for conspiracy theorists news, a
UFO enthusiast has launched a site he says is the first complete, searchable
database of the Air Force's declassified UFO files, the Air Force Times
reports. John Greenewald has spent almost 20 years reaping the benefits of the
Freedom of Information Act to amass 130,000 pages of Project Blue Book data on
his Black Vault website. Project Blue Book, an Air Force effort from 1947 to
1969 at Ohio's Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, investigated 12,618 strange
sightings; Greenewald says he has also included files from the project's
predecessors, Project Sign and Project Grudge. Although the National Archives
has housed the UFO files on microfilm (and other sites have posted partial
info), only Greenewald had the stamina to spend the time collecting,
programming, and converting all of it into an out-of-this world database.

Project Blue Book was discontinued after it was determined that none of the
UFOs posed a threat to national security, that there was never any evidence of
extraterrestrial vehicles, and that nothing that was witnessed was beyond the
scope of modern-day technology, according to a National Archives info sheet.
Roswell fans will be disappointed to hear there's nothing on the 1947 alien
crash that some people say took place there, but Greenewald thinks the info he
has put up will pique the curiosity of ET-hunters. People have this
fascination when it comes to UFOs. We can have our speculation that it's top
secret, but we simply don't know, Greenewald tells the New York Daily News.
(All those UFOs spotted in the '50s? It was just us, says the CIA.)

It was designed by a bunch of college grads:

A college degree or education won't make you a great programmer any more
than a college degree in music will make you a great musician. I know
many a college dropout who has done well in life. I also know people
with advanced degrees who don't know their field very well at all. Hey,
but they have those letters after their name. Yup, a degree doesn't say
much especially if you graduated with a C- average.

In the computer science field, very few colleges were teaching it right
until about 2000. I even sat on a an computer science advisory board
for one college where the profs, scared of losing their tenure, needed
help with setting up a curriculum that would get their graduates jobs.
By the mid 1990s programming in Pascal was not going to cut it. I hired
more people who were self taught out of books and magazines than folks
with a computer science degree. These people were very productive.

I'm not against education by any means but I have for colleges being
about getting an eduction and not just a piece of paper.

Although I am a college grad (B.A. in English), your post made me think back to
a time at ILOG in France in which some HR geek from the company pointed out to
me at a large convention (with some derision) that I was the only person in the
company without a Ph.D.

I got a chance to remind him of that later during the convention, when it
became obvious that the only person in the building who had suggested out loud
that it really *wasn't* a good idea to rip off the entire interface of a
Microsoft product and pass it off as your own was me.

Yes, they really did that, and yes, the *only* person in the building who was
on record as having spoken up about it and having told them not to do it was
me. If the Microsoft rep who spotted it on a screen in our booth hadn't had a
sense of humor and told them to take it down and never display it in public
again, these Ph.D.'s assumption that they knew it all could have cost the
company millions of dollars, or its very existence.

I'm not surprised. Software design is *not* science but more an art form.

Most of the programmers I hired *with* degrees did *not* have them in
computer science. I even had one who came from Microsoft whose field
was Theology. He was a good programmer too.

I heard about this story yesterday on Gil Gross's show on the local talk
station. I don't think Gil has a degree either but has had quite a
career and is a really bright guy. He worked for ABC News and knew
Peter Jennings. Referencing this article yesterday he mentioned that
Jennings did not have a degree either but was very knowledgeable about
geopolitics. In comparison some of the grads they hired couldn't even
name the capitals of some countries in the news.

Gil also knows that our local tech industry has many successful people
who don't have degrees. I've probably told the story here before but
back in the late 1990s I had a call from a recruiter looking for a
multi-media acquisitions manager. I wasn't interested but told her I
knew someone who would be very good at it. She stressed the company,
Coca-Cola (which for some reason wanted to get into this), required a
degree and the guy I knew did not have one but he would have done a bang
up job. Maybe the reason we don't associate Coca-Cola with multi-media
is that they hired someone with a degree who didn't know shit. :-D

The Big Board - by Kilgore Trout

… It was about an Earthling man and woman who were kidnapped by
extra-terrestrials. They were put on display in a zoo on a planet called
Zircon-212.

These fictitious people in the zoo had a big board supposedly showing stock
market quotations and comodity prices along one wall of their habitat, and a
news ticker, and a telephone that was supposedly connected to a brokerage on
Earth. The creatures on Zircon-212 told their captives that they had invested a
million dollars for them back on Earth, and that it was up to the captives to
manage it so that they would be fabulously wealthy when they were returned to
Earth.
The telephone and the big board and the ticker were all fakes, of course. They
were simply stimulants to make the Earthlings perform vividly for the crowds at
the zoo—to make them jump up and down and cheer, or gloat, or sulk, or tear
their hair, to be scared shitless or to feel as contented as babies in their
mothers’ arms.

The Earthlings did very well on paper. That was part of the rigging, of course.
And religion got mixed up in it, too. The news ticker reminded them that the
President of the United States had declared National Prayer Week, and that
everybody should pray. The Earthlings had had a bad week on the market before
that. They had lost a small fortune in olive oil futures. So they gave praying
a whirl.

It worked. Olive oil went up.

[FairfieldLife] Now only criminals can offer us hope

2013-10-23 Thread s3raphita
Suppose you are a struggling mother with young kids, on welfare or a
minimum-wage job - and a smoker. It is a common practice to find touts on the
streets in our inner cities offering branded cigarettes - Marlboro being the
most popular brand - at 2/3rds the price of what you'd have to pay in the
shops. The price of fags being so expensive the reduction in cost you're being
offered is a godsend. The crook is your friend in avoiding horrendous vice
taxes! (Polish bootleg vodka is a big seller here in England.)

Now politicians are always bleeding us dry with taxes, levies, VAT. The
politicians, and the media luvvies who support them, are *not* on our side.
(Our/us being those on the bottom rung of the greasy ladder.) But the cigarette
tout *is* on our side (let's put aside the health-hazard debate for now) -
struggling mothers will now have more money to spend on their children.

But why stop there? Yes, there are alas too many criminal types you cannot but
condemn - those violent thugs; the rapists; the muggers; kidnappers; . . . But
what about those who illegally squat empty property to provide somewhere to
live for the homeless? And what of people who liberate food from restaurants
and supermarkets to give to the hungry?

Let's face it: our politicians are greedy and shamelessly hypocritical. They
have no empathy with the poor and have absolutely no idea how to to get us out
of the mess they themselves have created. Anyone who seriously imagines they
are going to change is deluding himself.

POLITICIANS ARE UNABLE TO GET US OUT OF THE MESS WE'RE IN.

Criminals (some of them) can at least offer some much-needed relief.

Now, teacher alleges Girish Chandra Varma raped her for 15 years
Rageshri Ganguly

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/toireporter/author-Rageshri-Ganguly.cms

BHOPAL: In a surprising turn of events, a teacher of Maharishi Vidya Mandir
(MVM) Ratanpur, who had earlier alleged sexual harassment
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/sexual-harassment against
chairman of the group Girish Chandra Varma
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Girish-Chandra-Varma , went to
the Mahila Thana
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/thana-electric-supply-co-ltd/stocks/com
panyid-12537.cms with her husband on Sunday to file an FIR
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/FIR of repeated rape in the same
case.

Though the police did not register an FIR, the police station received her
written complaint.

The victim alleged that the police were under pressure from Varma and she
would move court with a private complaint.

In the fresh complaint, the teacher alleged that Varma not only repeatedly
raped her for 15 years from 1998, but also wanted her to bring students and
teachers of MVM http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/MVM to him with
bad intention. Also, she had alleged that Varma had threatened her and her
husband with dire consequences, including death threats, if they did not
comply with his wishes.

After coming out of thana, she alleged, the attitude of the investing
officer of sexual harassment case changed after she received a call on her
mobile phone and she said that the investigation of the previous complaint
is still on and hence any action would be taken only after into the case of
sexual harassment.

IO Seema Patel, on the other hand, remained tight-lipped.

Victim, Girish Chandra Varma with sexual harassment
threatens to commit suicide

MUMBAI: The woman complainant who had charged Girish Chandra Varma of
Maharshi Group http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Maharshi-Group
with sexual harassment and rape has threatened to commit suicide if police
failed to register an FIR. The woman had on Sunday approached the police
alleging that Varma, chairman of Maharishi Vidya Mandir (MVM) group, had
raped her for 15 years.

The couple also demanded that Varma should resign from the post of chairman
on moral grounds. The complainant and wife of Rajesh Sharma told media at a
press conference here on Monday that the only way left for her and her
family was to commit suicide. Unless the police register an FIR under
sections of rape against Varma I would commit suicide in front of the chief
minister's residence within a week, the complainant said.

We would have to take the Geetika Sharma way ( suicide )to convince the
world that we are truthful, Sharma told the media.

The couple also revealed the circumstances under which the victim was raped
repeatedly by Girish Chandra Varma, including the last time on January 1,
2013 in his Audi http://www.zigwheels.com/newcars/Audi car.

The couple questioned that when the new rape law is in place, why the FIR
was not being registered. In the name of investigation, police are just
dilly dallying since March 11. When I have detailed out the circumstances of
rape as asked by the police and have named Varma as the accused why an FIR
is not being registered in this case?, the complainant alleged.

It is also highly objectionable that police are accepting Varma's statement
provided to them in a CD rather than interrogating him face-to-face, she
said.

The victim in her complaint has stated that Varma possessed some
objectionable pictures and videos of her taken during the rape, which he had
threatened to make public unless she complied with his demands.

Since our families knew each other much before my marriage, I tried to sort
out the matter at the women's panel. But since that has proved futile, the
police should file an FIR in this matter, she said.

The complaint also alleged that Varma had used her husband's e-mail account
since October 2011 for sending mails and money transactions which later made
out as proof http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Proof-(musician)
against her. Also, my husband was made to sign on many blank papers while
he was his personal secretary, which is now being used against him, she
said.

She reiterated that Mahila Thana
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/thana-electric-supply-co-ltd/stocks/com
panyid-12537.cms investigating officer (IO) Seema Patel initially heard
her complaint on Sunday but then after a phone call received by her, refused
to even hear her complaint and also slammed the state women's commission
(SWC).

'Defamation does not hold good'

A police officer told TOI, on condition of anonymity that the defamation
case levelled by the complainant does not hold much water as the law says
that till an FIR has been registered, no rule says that the name should be
kept a secret. Also, the husband of the woman, Rajesh Sharma, had openly
disclosed her name on

Another way is that governments

August and September; they will form the first invincibilitygroup for Hamsa,
with their influence spreading to the whole of Europe.

A coherence-creating group has also been established by a mayor in Hamsa, who

Under the leadership of the Global Mother Divine Organization*, a Maharishi

The first Maharishi Ayur-Veda training course for doctors in Europe is
currently underway with ten medical doctors taking part; by the end of the year
when they finish their training, there will be Maharishi Ayur-Veda physicians

The first Maharishi Ayur-Veda Clinicwas recently opened by the Directors of

[FairfieldLife] Now we know why Sheryl Crow appeared at the DLF concert :-)

2009-05-17 Thread TurquoiseB

She was getting paid.

Maybe. The YouTube clip below probably has nothing
to do with the recent DLF concert. Then again, given
Tina Fey's sense of humor and the fact that she's a
New Yorker, the comedy sketch in this clip may just
be a parody of that concert.

It's a scene from the latest episode of Tina's 30
Rock series showing a mock telethon fundraiser
called Kidney Now. The plot is that Alec Baldwin's
character finds his long-lost father, Milton Green.
Jack is not a tissue match, so he extorts his friends
in showbiz -- Sheryl Crow, Moby (sound familiar?),
Elvis Costello, Mary J. Blige, Adam Levine, Rachael
Yamagata, Rhett Miller, Norah Jones, Sarah Bareilles,
Cindy Lauper and others -- to perform a song to help
find Milton a kidney.

It's a hoot. Several links below, because none of

[FairfieldLife] 'Now Bubba Wants Hill's Senate Seat'

2009-01-01 Thread Robert
Bill and Hill play musical chairs...

Bill Clinton A Possible N.Y. Senate 'Caretaker?'
Democrats Pushing Paterson To Name Temp Replacement For Hillary; Scenario
Sets Up Wild Election In 2010

NEW YORK (CBS/AP) ―

Sen. Bill Clinton? Don't completely rule it out.

The former president is among several boldface names being touted as
possible caretakers for New York's Senate seat -- people who would
serve until the 2010 elections but wouldn't be interested in running to
keep the job.

As the process of picking Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's replacement
gets messier, the option may become increasingly attractive to Gov.
David Paterson, who has sole authority to name a successor.

A big name like Bill Clinton or Democratic former Gov. Mario Cuomo
could have an immediate impact for New York in the Senate while letting
the large field of hopefuls duke it out in 2010, according to three
Democratic Party advisers in New York and Washington who are close to
the discussion with Paterson's inner circle on this issue.

Two others in the party confirmed that Paterson is still considering
the caretaker option. The advisers spoke on the condition of anonymity
because they weren't authorized to comment.

You could find a very senior person who could serve New York well on
an interim basis, said Gerald Benjamin, a political scientist and dean
at the State University of New York at New Paltz. Then you can say to
Caroline Kennedy, `You know, you'd make a good senator. Run for it.'
And you can tell everyone else that it's a level playing field.

Paterson has made it clear in recent days that he's getting annoyed by
the constant jockeying by supporters of high-powered hopefuls including
Kennedy, half a dozen members of Congress and state Attorney General
Andrew Cuomo, son of the former governor.

The candidates -- especially Kennedy -- have made daily headlines as
Paterson tries to focus on a fiscal crisis of historic proportions, his
first budget proposal and preparations for his first full legislative
session as governor. He took office last spring after disgraced Gov.
Eliot Spitzer resigned.

The caretaker option was exercised last month by Delaware Gov. Ruth Ann
Minner, who picked a former aide to Vice President-elect Joe Biden to
succeed him in the Senate until a new senator is elected in 2010. By
then, Biden's son, state Attorney General Beau Biden, will have
returned from a tour in Iraq with the National Guard -- just in time to
run for his father's seat.

A week ago, Paterson said he favored appointing a senator soon after
Clinton is confirmed to start building seniority, and he ruled out an
interim placeholder. Under state law, there will be an election to fill
the last two years of Hillary Clinton's term in 2010 and another for a
full six-year term in 2012.

The process, however, wasn't supposed to be a big distraction.

Some of the other names circulating as possible caretakers among party
operatives include the state's retired top jurist, Judith Kaye, and
former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey, now president of the New School in New
York City.

Mario Cuomo and Kaye declined through spokesmen Tuesday to discuss the
Senate seat; Bill Clinton, Kerrey and Paterson did not respond to
questions Tuesday and Wednesday.

Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College poll, said the caretaker
option wouldn't surprise him. To pick a caretaker is to say ... win it
in the court of public opinion.

An interim appointment also could sidestep an internal struggle in New York's
Democratic Party.

Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver -- the longest-serving and most
powerful legislative leader in the state -- has reservations about
Kennedy, and Paterson needs Silver if he wants to battle powerful labor
interests to turn around the state's fiscal problems.

But Kennedy's supporters include New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg,
a Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent who is another
important ally for Paterson.

Meanwhile, the handicapping continues about the prospects of some of the
lesser-known contenders.

Rep. Carolyn Maloney of New York City, who is known as a tenacious
legislator, has been endorsed by three women's advocacy groups: the
National Organization for Women, the Feminist Majority and the National
Women's Political Caucus. Political observers say Paterson is under
pressure to pick a woman because all the state's top leaders -- except
Clinton -- are men.

In the political blog Connecting.the.dots, media critic and editor
Robert Stein wrote Sunday that a caretaker would show that Paterson has
the best interests of the state in mind during the fiscal crisis, while
letting powerful political families fight it out in an election two
years down the road.

And that was because initiations had tanked in the late 70's, after the

[FairfieldLife] Now Sudan Is Attacking Refugee Camps

*WALL STREET JOURNAL

*Now Sudan
Is Attacking
Refugee Camps
*By MIA FARROW and ERIC REEVES
September 6, 2008; Page A9

At 6 a.m. on the morning of Aug. 25, Kalma camp, home to 90,000
displaced Darfuris, was surrounded by Sudanese government forces. By 7
a.m., 60 heavily armed military vehicles had entered the camp, shooting
and setting straw huts ablaze. Terrified civilians -- who had previously
fled their burning villages when they were attacked by this same
government and its proxy killers the Janjaweed -- hastily armed
themselves with sticks, spears and knives. Of course, these were no
match for machine guns and automatic weapons. By 9 a.m., the worst of
the brutal assault was over. The vehicles rolled out leaving scores dead
and over 100 wounded. Most were women and children.

The early morning attack ensured that no aid workers were present as
witnesses. Doctors Without Borders did manage to negotiate the
transportation of 49 of the most severely wounded to a hospital in the
nearby town of Nyala. But beyond this, aid workers have been blocked
from entering the camp. Military vehicles have now increased in number
and massed around Kalma. They have permitted no humanitarian assistance
to reach the wounded. People already hard hit by recent floods and
deteriorating sanitary conditions have received no food, water or
medicine since Monday. The dead cannot even be buried with the white
shrouds requested by the families of the victims.

How can such brazen cruelty be inflicted upon our fellow human beings?
How is it that a military assault on displaced civilians in a refugee
camp creates barely a ripple in the news cycle? How does such outrageous
human destruction prompt so little outrage? How is it that those who
have been tasked with protecting the world's most vulnerable population
have failed -- and failed, and then failed yet again -- in their central
responsibility? What does this say about the United Nations and the
powerful member states? How have we come to such a moment?

Such questions can be answered by looking at our response to Darfur's
agony over the past six years. Any honest assessment would be as
shocking and dispiriting as the assault on Kalma itself. The
international response to massive crimes by Sudanese President Omar
al-Bashir and his cabal has been simply this: We accommodate and
acquiesce, with the contrived hope that these tyrants might grow weary
of their task, or that paper agreements can somehow have meaning without
a sustained and powerful international commitment backing them.

The Kalma massacre is a part of Khartoum's larger genocidal campaign.
Since 2003, 80%-90% of Darfur's African villages have been destroyed,
and more than 2.5 million survivors have fled to squalid camps across
Darfur, eastern Chad and the Central African Republic. Hundreds of
thousands have died. Khartoum's next goal is to shut down camps in
Darfur, and force people out into the desert where they cannot survive.
The homes and fields that once sustained so many of Darfur's people are
ashes now, or they have new occupants -- Arab tribes from Darfur and as
far away as Chad, Niger and Mali.

The message of the Kalma massacre is chillingly clear for Darfuris. But
this assault on civilians in full view of the international community
raises the question of what the massacre says about the rest of us. The
only message we have sent to the Sudanese government is that they can
now attack the camps and the world will watch and do nothing.

Ms. Farrow has just returned from her 10th trip to the Darfur region.
Mr. Reeves is author of A Long Day's Dying: Critical Moments in the
Darfur Genocide (The Key Publishing House, 2007).

You know, folks, I'm getting sick of this shit. Is what most people in this

digging into mistakes of the past we had all resolved to put behind

Thanks for the kind words, Bronte. Actually, when
he went after me the first time, he was so over the
top that I pretty much blew him off, responded very
briefly, and forgot about it. But then when you
started in about how we women treasure Edg's
recognition of our tender side, the irony was just
too much.

And I didn't say he'd raped and murdered me

more of an emotional than an intellectual attack.
I think as a metaphor, raped and murdered was
entirely appropriate in reference to what he tried
to do to my inner damsel or whatever your phrase
was.

Judy, I just looked up bemusement and it didn't mean what I thought
it did! I thought it meant quietly amused which is what your

misunderstand a worse word or this could have been a lot funnier!

[FairfieldLife] Now Bramananda saraswati- no longer Swami?

2007-07-15 Thread Ron
I was just talking with a friend who has been paying attention to the
celebrations. He said this past Jan 12, Guru dev was not referred to
as Swami, and he said this has been going on for a while.

He then got into speculation why and said something must have happened
with the Swamis.

I asked him why MMY was not a Swami. This guy used to be with MMY
alot. He said he heard that same thing- MMY was not a Braman so
couldn't do it. He said he did not hear that from MMY, but other
peope. I mentioned that the nothern seat is prevelent with Giri and
this would have been accepted. He answered that Giri means mountain-
that was the end of that conversation.

If you doubt the destructive power of religious sects read on. Even

Kabbalah ends Madonna-Britney friendship

By Jeannette Walls
MSNBC
Updated: 1:49 a.m. ET June 13, 2006

Looks like smooch-buddies Madonna and Britney Spears are buddies no more.

When the two locked lips on MTV, it made news around the world. Now,
Madonna has reportedly dumped Spears because the Oops I Did It Again
crooner has bailed on Kabbalah.

Madonna spent a great deal of time and money wooing the younger singer
into the Kabbalah fold, and it worked for at least a while; Spears was
spotted wearing the trendy religion's trademark red string bracelet
and toting around Kabbalah books.
But not long ago, Spears publicly ditched the mystical offshoot of
Judaism, writing on her Web site: I no longer study Kabbalah, my baby
is my religion. Spears, who was raised a Baptist, has allegedly been
consulting with a Christian Life Coach about her troubled marriage
to Kevin Federline.

Madonna spent months teaching Britney the Kabbalah system and
splashed out thousands on the ancient scripture for her, according to
a source quoted by Virgin.net, which is further reporting that Madonna
is demanding that Spears return the twelfth-century book on Kabbalah
that she gave her as a wedding present. Madonna's rep had no comment
by press time, but the source said: She feels she has wasted time,
money and precious gifts on Brit.

[FairfieldLife] Now I've Done It

2005-07-10 Thread Llundrub

Vaj now hates my guts.

I don't understand anything.
I'm off lithium.
I'm one with Lawson and Stein.
I obviously have no capacity to understand
anything.
I don't have any idea who he is.
He gave me the long blow off and said -
Goodbye.
Then he changed his email addy.

You know Vaj, that's why I was mean to you. I had to
test your qualities as an individual. Ever since you told me not to talk about
drugs and told me I was misguided I had my doubts about our
communicability. I really didn't care to develop a further relationship
with you as you already didn't have a clue as to who I am. That also means
I didn't really want lung from you for Med Tun. No offense. I kept telling
you I didn't need the lung but you just didn't get it. I already had the lung,
knucklehead. All I wanted was the short part of the Protectors. Why was
that so difficult for you?

I didn't want lung. That is, I knew I couldn't keep any
sort of samaya with you since we were not really amicable to each other. It's
all good though because the internet is not like trying circumstances for making
deep friendships. People met on the internet are invariably fair weather
friends. As easy as a goodbye and change an email addy and no need to ever
consider them again. Much as if one just popped a Prozac to get rid of
that annoyingly irritating emotion.

All that said, having you here at FFLife has made me
want to quit being here just about every day and renounce my Bodhi Vows because
of the tedium of your voice. Fact is, I almost can't stand saying Vajra Guru
mantra because it has the word Vaj in it. It's not that I hate you. It's just
that I hate your smug, selfish superiority. "Don't say the sacred Bijam of Guru
Rinpoche before these swine." You know that sort of shit. The shit
category, which presupposes that you cannot be bothered to even consider my
replies to your listserv diatribes. I am shit. You are superior. You beef,
me shit. Because we disagree. Poor me.

Oh, I questioned the great Nath Vaj. 'm off my
lithim, sorr Sir. Let me refill my prescription. Didn't help. You just are weak.
And not full of the answers. Rather you are just full of what other people have
told you. To quote ChNN:

"...one must know what kind of bird one is, and what
kind of cage one is in. And then one must really want to come out of all cages,
because it's no good just making ones cage a little bigger or more beautiful by,
for example, adding some fascinating new bars made from some 'exotic' Tibetan
teaching. It's no good building a new crystal cage out of Dzogchen teachings.
However beautiful it is, it's still a cage."

(The Crystal and the Way of Light, Pg. 114. ChNN,
Snowlion, 2000. Ithaca, NY)

What you didn't get is that I was your teacher to open
your bars, and not the other way around. Next time you get a Dakini teaching try
to listen. Ciao.

(It would stand to reason that there's only one
base, one ground, and whatever system of interrelated thought one used would
only be relative and coemergent. One builds a house upon the ground and a
hurricane comes and look no more house. Attachment to the house is not knowledge
of the ground or base. The idea of a trekchod is not a trekchod.)

[FairfieldLife] now a ...Peace Mountain

2005-06-12 Thread claudiouk
Indian PM visits Siachen glacier

Manmohan Singh is the first premier to visit Siachen
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says a Himalayan glacier in
Kashmir should become a peace mountain between India and Pakistan.
Mr Singh was visiting the 5,500m Siachen glacier, the first Indian
premier to do so.

It is the world's highest battlefield, more soldiers have died on it
from the extreme cold than from enemy fire.

A ceasefire has been in place since November 2003 and the nuclear
rivals have engaged in a peace process.

Siachen is called the highest battlefield where living is very
difficult, Mr Singh is quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.

Our efforts should be that such an environment of peace is created
wherein nobody feels any threats, and there is no scope for a
conflict, and this place becomes an example of peace, he said.

But he also ruled out any change or any possibility of pulling Indian
troops off the icy glacier.

We feel these boundaries are important not only for our security but
it relates to the country's prestige also, he said.

Last month, talks between India and Pakistan on the long-running
military stand-off over the Siachen glacier ended without any
breakthrough.

The two sides agreed to continue talks but did not set any dates for
their next meeting.

Pakistan wants both sides to pull back to the positions they held
more than 20 years ago before India occupied most of the ice field.

India agrees but says the withdrawal should be preceded by marking
the current position of the two forces.

India and Pakistan have fought two wars over the territory but
embarked on a peace process 18 months ago.

The latest step last month was the start of the first bus service to
cross the Line of Control that divides Indian and Pakistani-
administered Kashmir.

During his current visit, the Indian prime minister said efforts
would be made to open up the road between the northern Kashmiri town
of Kargil and Skardu, which is across the Line of Control in
Pakistani-administered Kashmir.
