Works for me. Try again. If you still see the problem, it's possible your browser has cached the error page and isn't really going back to the site at all. Try quitting and restarting your browser. If you're using a web proxy, then the same caching problem might occur there. If the proxy isn't under your control, then probably the best thing for you to do is leave well alone for several hours, and then try again. fatal server error
Running version 4.8, when I try to launch Windowmaker as user, I get Fatal server error Cannot move old logfile /var/log/XFree86.0.log.old. I have tried deleting XFree86.0.log.old, making a blank one, and changing permissions to allow root and user to write to and execute the file. Also, I have tried changing owners from root to user. Nothing I have done works. Any ideas? What's weird to me is that Windowmaker launches no problem from root. Does any one know the fix? You have your dhcpd configured to use 'dynamic dns' function. When the laptop gets an address via dhcp, the dhcpd sends a message to dns to update the dns name to the new IP address. Some windows clients can do this also if the option is configured in the Windows DNS settings. Here I think it is your server as the log line comes from dhcpd. In this case, the name TM25.dhcp.company.com already exists so dhcpd reports this. This may be due to a static entry in DNS zone files or because the laptop already had an entry configured earlier. You can check by doing a 'dig TM25.dhcp.company.com' and see what results you get from your DNS - you should see the name resolve to the IP address of the laptop. Try running (as root): XFree86 -configure and it should set up a working config file for any supported video card and monitor. Greetings -questioneers. I am having trouble getting started with cups. It seems to install okay. lpstat and lpinfo can be induced to give the expected results, i.e.: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/sbinlpinfo -v network socket network http network ipp network lpd direct parallel:/dev/lpt0 serial serial:/dev/ttyd0?baud=115200 direct usb:/dev/ulpt0 direct usb:/dev/unlpt0 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/sbin However, when I try to add a printer: [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/sbin!lpadm lpadmin -p wa7 -E -v parallel:/dev/lpt0 -m stphoto.ppd lpadmin: add-printer (enable) failed: server-error-service-unavailable [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr/local/sbin This happens with the web-based interface as well. Does anyone have any idea what the problem might be? I can furnish my /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file upon request. Thanks for your help, - Jason Barnes Jason Wayne Barnes -- Active on the internet.
