Re: [Audyssey] Time of conflict question.
Hi Lori, What I do when my infantry runs out of land to explore is I send them to the nearest city. I go to the unit in question, do alt+y to get a list of cities, and then send them to the closest city to their position. As for commanding cities the command you are looking for is alt+y. That gives you a list of cities under your control and is arranged by distanced to the unit currently under your command. To save a game you have to quit the game, and it will ask you to save and exit after the turn ends or abort immediately. Re: [Audyssey] GMA Tank Commander
Hi Leo, In your order for Tank Commander, did you include the user code? David can't generate a key without one. This is the 4 digit number spoken at the beginning of the game. You can also use the built in key replacement function to copy and paste your information to your clip board then paste it into a message to GMA sales. You should also include your father's name and the that you used his card to order the game. Right now, David has to manually generate a key for the game so that does mean that it mite take a few days or longer if he is on vacation. Re: [Audyssey] Time of Conflict 2.0 is now released
Hi Will, I certainly can sympathize with your situation. I myself have been strongly considering switching to Mac and leaving both Windows and Linux behind. The problem is that most of my favorite apps and games won't run on Mac without a virtual machine etc. As for my own software I can port it to Mac, but for things out of my control like Time of Conflict I consider that a big loss. So I would like to see GMA and others become more Mac compatible, but know they won't as long as they cling to ancient tech like VB 6. Cheers! Hi Devin, No, unfortunately not, nor can a Mac version be created since Time of Conflict is written in Visual Basic 6 which is proprietary to Windows. Until David Greenwood switches to C++ or something more cross-platform compatible I find him creating Mac versions of anything highly unlikely for the foreseeable future. Cheers! Re: [Audyssey] GMA Tank Commander
Hi Steven, No, GMA does not have an automatic key replacement or order system. What happens when you order a game is it sends a message to GMA Sales and it gets processed usually within two or three days. Sometimes slightly longer if David Greenwood is busy. So if you order Tank Commander or any game from GMA don't expect a product key to just show up in your inbox 10 minutes later, because GMA does not have an automatic key replacement and licensing system. Re: [Audyssey] GMA Tank Commander
Hi Leo, In regards to the license key understand it sometimes takes two or three days to get a key for a game you order from GMA. If you haven't received one within a week you should by all means e-mail GMA's sales address. I have ordered a number of games from them and have never had a problem with their service. So it could simply be David is unusually busy or some other logical explanation for the delay. As far as your spelling, grammar, etc. Its okay. I didn't go through your message carefully, but it looks okay on first glance. Re: [Audyssey] GMA Tank Commander
Hi Steven, I am not sure if David is on this list so I will try to answer your questions. Right now orders for GMA games require David to do them manually. The order needs to include credit card information and your 4 digit user code. If your brother didn't include this information the order can't get finished. I'm thinking since he just released a new version of TOC that he is very busy right now. Also sometimes messages get dumped into junk folders or deleted accidentally. I suggest he re-send the information. The new ordering system is supposed to automatically generate registration keys. But it isn't ready right now. You may download it from: http://www.GMAGames.com/toc20008.exe For the next week it will be treated as a public beta to ensure there is nothing major that was missed during its release. The new features are: Now supports NVDA, Window Eyes, Jaws, Hal, Super Nova, and MS-SAPI. Supports multi-player gaming (test version). The game now supports your choice of turn-based or real-time play. Two new UDF's are available: a Trek-like space, and a world consisting of medieval unit types. There are many new maps available. You have the ability to create lists which summarize units into cells, cells into water and land masses, water and land masses into a map summary, and the ability to do the reverse by obtaining details from these summaries. You have the option to set up your initial FORCES AT START OF PLAY FOR some developed MAPS. You have the ability to define and use terrain. terrain can affect unit attacks and movement. There are now keystroke commands to jump to recent enemy actions. You can now press Enter to set focus to the location of a stated enemy action while reviewing history. and there is much more. You may download it from: http://www.GMAGames.com/toc20008.exe For the next week it will be treated as a public beta to ensure there is nothing major that was missed during its release. Everyone has 21 days to put it through its paces before the evaluation period expires. Time of Conflict 2.0 is significantly bigger and better than version 1.0. You can play with or against any combination of up to four computer forces as opponents or as allies. We have greatly expanded the map building capabilities. There are many more unit operators to make tasks easier. There are many more unit types in the default World War II world. You have the ability to create lists which summarize units into cells, cells into water and land masses, water and land masses into a map summary, and the ability to do the reverse by obtaining details from these summaries. The multi-player version of Time of Conflict will be available for testing by all users who have ordered version 2. It appears to be relatively bug free, but some of the beta testers felt that it needed to be opened up to larger numbers of users before it can be determined how well it works.
