[Audyssey] Entombed

2010-03-04 Thread Tristan B
Hi,
I launch Entombed and for some reason it instantaniously comes up with
Entombed.exe has encountered an error and needs to close. What's going on.
Thanks.

Hello,
I know who sent the email. If you look at the header, it came from
TrekGames.net. Tristan Bussiere is the owner of TrekGames.net (and the
MUD Cosmos). (I am not sure if you all know how email headers work,
but the email was definitely sent from TrekGames.net.) While I do not
know if he sent it personally, he certainly needs to be smarter about
securing his VPS, or if he did send it, to show some maturity.
Here is part of the email header:

Received: from li127-90.members.linode.com ([69.164.212.90]

Received: from Trekgames.net (trekgames.net [127.0.0.1])

I know for a fact Tristan uses Linode, and owns the domain
TrekGames.net. I assure you all, my computers are secure, and he
spoofed the email using my Gmail address.

I am not sure if this is part of the recent attacks of spoofing Raul
has spoken of. To be sure of this, you can easily check the email

Thank you.

Hi, I was told by a friend that you guys would be able to help me. I'm
currently trying this online text-based game called Dragon Realms. I'm
having trouble with it though, cause I'm totally blind and I need to be
able to read what I'm doing in a battle, but I can't because the messages
from the monsters attacking me go by to fast and I can't keep up. I was
wondering if their was way to make this better for me, I really love the
game, I used to play games like final fantasy 11 and world of warcraft
which weren't all that accessible, and then I discovered this game and
it's much more ccessible except for the minor inconvientses, which why I
come to this list, I need help!!! So, if someone would be willing to help
me I would be verry greatful. Thanks

Hi there.

Well, I was just about to send a message with instructions on how to use
simutronics games with vipmud, since I posted about this a few months ago.

Unfortunately, I seem to no longer have a play.net account, which is where
dragonrealms and gemstone IV are located! grin

But anyway, here is a copy of a message I sent to the list regarding
logging

into gemstone IV with vipmud. I know the question is regarding
dragonrealms, but I am sure that other than the difference in host names,
the instructions would be the same.

The below message talks about logging into the website as if you were
going to login with the Wizard client. What you will want to do though is
download the .sal file that comes up when you click on the go play link.
The only way I was able to download this .sal file without Internet
explorer trying to launch the wizard front end, was to use fire fox. That
is why in the below message, I refer to firefox. You could probably stop
the wizard frontend from launching if you disable active X for the
dragonrealms.net site.

Use the below at your own risk. Beings that it is the Christmas Holiday,
I will be away from my computer for most of the next few days.

I would suggest that you do a search in the play.net forums regarding
logging in with a telnet client, that was where I originally got the
instructions.

Basicly, what you will need to do is get the userKey from the .sal file of
your character. This is how simutronics keeps people from logging in for
free.

When you use vipmud to connect to whatever the host and port are, you will
not see anything when you connect. This is normal. You will need to
paste in the user key into vipmud's window and press enter. Again, you
will see or hear nothing. You then want to type FE/JAVA all in caps as
shown and press enter. You should then be good to go.

Again, this is for gemstone IV but it will work with whatever dragonrealms
uses as their host.

Rest assured, Simutronics muds including dragon realms can be played with
vipmud, at least, they could be played a few months ago. grin

a page came up saying that if my browser didn't launch using active x to
click here. When I did, firefox brought a file save dialog with my
character's .sal file, ie, grogrond.sal. I then saved it to disc, and
opened it in notepad, and copied the key to the clipboard, and used the
host

of prime.gs4.game.play.net and the port of 4900 entered into the host and
port sections in vipMud. Then, I pasted the key from the clipboard and
hit

I'm not sure what to tell you: Dragon Realms scrolls by as fast as any

Hi all,

With the success of Q9, I am much encouraged to make new games in the near
future. Now I wish to put the question out, what games would you like to
see? I plan to create mainly adventure games with a plot and characters,
coupled together with the same audio work and fast paced game play that
you saw in Q9. Do you wish for more sidescrollers, or is 3d the next step
do you think?

I would not wish to create a full 3d environment like in Shades of Doom
where you spin around in degrees as I personally find these rather
difficult to navigate and end up spending more time trying to remember
where I've been and where I am supposed to go next, rather than enjoying
the game. So I would adopt the method where you sidestep, moving one step
in each direction for each press of either of the four arrow keys. Would
you folks like to see something like this, or do you all want more
sidescrollers?

Kind regards,

Philip Bennefall

PVP on miriani is managable if you are a palyer who actually tries to

have been there for almost thee years now,, and i actually handle things

since i cant send them where iw ish on this list, i dont wine a bout it,
i deffend myself as i can and make them stop targetting me, as they get
bored. most of the people who do not like miriani, do so bedause they
never succeed on the game, with the exception of one or two people, who
actually played and didnt like it. now, about cosmos, i didn't really
play it to actually check what was going on, exactly because it was
very, very similar to miriani once it started, and i thought it would be
a silly, weird, copy. however, as i have been talking to tristan last

i've plaied miriani for 2 years. and i didn't left it for pvp reasons, i

well I'll just sign matheus's post.
ok I never played cosmos put it simply I heard how mirianilike it was) so
I decided to stick to that, so I think you should change the space system.
perhaps instead of gates (what ever you called them) make a large 1 long
sector where you have to move from planet to planet.
then you have power for engine upgrades and multiple speed levels, such as
sublight, and then hyperspace/warp speed or something which would require
more power.

that's 1 idea from me, hth.

So now we are reaching a 3.5 year project, and the game is near 290 players,
but only nearly 70 are active within a 1 month period or so. I want to get
oppinions, what everyone thinks, what I should do to improve the game, how I
can fix things to make your experience better, what isn't fun about the game,
etc, etc, etc.
A game will get nowhere if it has no testers. After being two years in beta,
Cosmos is now just starting to flourish.

This is coming from just the main admin of the game. You can also e-mail the
other admins of Trek Games. By sending mail to
trekga...@gmail.com

I hope we get some good feedback, but surprisingly, I do hope I get bad
feedback. Bad feedback enables the developer team to debug things and fix
what's wrong, making the bad feedback turn into good comments. :)

Regards.

Re: [Audyssey] Crysis!

Not a problem.

You also might want to try a registry error fixer. Probably won't work
though.

Download Registry XP from the JFWLite homepage:
http://jfwlite.com/programs/
and download the CCleaner cleaning tool, to use registry just open up the
program and hit enter on the registry button.

http://CCleaner.com/

Hope this helps -- although it probably won't

sinse though it sounds as if it's a registry problem with that user

User accounts are pretty much the spawm of satan I happen to think, sinse
every single major problem i'm had with a computer has involved errors
with them.

why you can't just disable the bloody thing!

While a complete reformat wouldn't be a desaster, even if my pc had
literally exploded! it wouldn't have been a desaster, as I backup
regularly, I'd just rather save all the reconfiguring and reinstalling if
I possibly can, not to mention having to pester various developers
and companies for extra registration keys.

That's why I hope it can be more easily fixed.

Hi Dark,
Okay...That's something of a big problem. I know you said you don't have
an XP cd, but do you have a product recovery partition on your hard
drive?
I ask because most new computers don't come with installation disks any
more. With my Compaq laptop I have to install Vista from a product
recovery partition already present on the laptop's hard drive. There is
an option to burn it to a cd or dvd, but by and large it is done by
starting up the computer and running the install from a hard drive
partition. If not it might be helpful to get a copy of XP for just these
kinds of emergencies.

ok, wow you should never try to diddle with your system during an
install.
Found that the hard way myself and had to fiddle but got it mostly
working.

I suggest you reformat.
Next time wait till java is installed all the way.
you should be able to remove msn explorer from windows setup in add
remove.

you should be able to add outlook express in the same way.
uninstall java and put it back in.
make a new user for yourself find and delete the other user, better
yet if you can get in user accounts and delete the other user then
make it again.

At 02:58 a.m. 11/10/2009, you wrote:

Needless to say, this is a baad! state of affiars, and what's
worse, outlook express is stil awol!

Luckily I A, have this laptop to communicate etc with, and B, have
backups of everything on my external harddrive.

Stil, the idea of starting everything from scratch on the default

not sure what I'd be unable to access from my old user profile.

Normally, I'd phone dolphin tech support with this sort of issue, but
they're not open at weakends, and I'd prefer this fixed Asap.

while I know this isn't a tech support list, I'd really! appreciate
some help from some of the cleverer people here so as to get this
sorted out.

If people would prefer to take this off list, just E-mail me on

Any help much and distinctly appreciated.

Btw, as I said, I'm using windows xp. Luckily hal, though not my
individual settings or installs of dolphin orphius, is accessible
from the default profile, so poking around windows will at least be
possible.

sorry again for this, but I am rather stuck here.

Hi Dark,

I will outline the steps you will need to take, if you can use that
(secondary) user account to full capacity:

1. Since Outlook Express is part of the Internet Explorer 6 package, you
will have to install Microsoft Internet Explorer 6, or in your case you may
have to downgrade from IE 7 or 8.

Here is the link to download Internet Explorer + Outlook Express 6.0 SP 1
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/downloads/critical/ie6sp1/default.mspx

2. SSave the download and try to run it on the secondary user account. Lets
hope this works... (And do not, fiddle around with anything during the
install/downgrade process :-p)

Hope this helps.
Tristan

Stil, the idea of starting everything from scratch on the default profile

I'd be unable to access from my old user profile.

Normally, I'd phone dolphin tech support with this sort of issue, but
they're not open at weakends, and I'd prefer this fixed Asap.

while I know this isn't a tech support list, I'd really! appreciate some
help from some of the cleverer people here so as to get this sorted out.

If people would prefer to take this off list, just E-mail me on

Any help much and distinctly appreciated.

Btw, as I said, I'm using windows xp. Luckily hal, though not my
individual settings or installs of dolphin orphius, is accessible from the
default profile, so poking around windows will at least be possible.

sorry again for this, but I am rather stuck here.

all the best,

Dark.

For AutoIt Scripting:

For AutoHotkey:

For MOO:

I hope this helps, and a suggestion: please keep programming-related (off

That site looks great. It’s just not exactly what I’m looking for.

I definitely agree that the Audio Mario game could have used a lot more
work. For one thing I don't think they should have used MIDI music files.
Anytime the MIDI ended and started over the game would hang just long
enough for you to die. Not to mention the control scheme left a lot to be
desired. They had a lot of potential but they quit before they could really
explore it.

Hi,
I have to agree. In terms of actual game content goes Dragon Slayer Games
never created anything of note. All of their games are what I would
classify as practice games. Every developer in the world writes a few
programs purely for practice, proof of concept, and obviously some of
those early practice programs aren't very good. That's kind of how I see
Dragon Slayer Games titles.

In many respects they were still getting their feet wet, learning their
craft, and what they produced was largely of the practice variety. The
Audio Mario game was certainly better than their earlier games, but it
could have used more work in various areas of development. At the time
the lead developer quit they were just beginning to explore and design
serious action games, and certainly would have gotten better in time.
However, they quit before they really got started.

dark wrote:

Hello Allan.

Dragonslayer games was a set of small quick games produced by a group of
developers who were just getting used to making games and finding their
feet.

they had some quick online games using sound effects and text messages,
and two downloadable games with text boxes, dragon warrior and
elemental battle which functioned as simple turn based combat and item
collection games, they were working on some more serious audio games
under developement including an audio marrio with original sfx and
music, (which was interesting if a trifle problematic), but
unfortunately the lead programmer basically decided to throw in the
towel.

I'm not sure if their stuff is stil available, but while they
showed some promise and were improving with each title, I'd say your not
missing too much.

yes there are packs.
I think most of the muds miriani, cosmos and maybe a couple others use
the

same packs or atleast sfx.
so if you get the cosmos pack that will work.
you will need to change the addresses and such for the mud but everything
will work and the name of the pack maybe.
a miriani pack will work to.
if you have issues trying to find a good one I know that pkb games has
one,

but you will have to ask piter for that.
over that though shane davidson has a pack I know of but its in beta, and
not sure if released yet, it was the same as the standard miriani pack.
so if you get liam's pack wich is the basic pack for miriani I forget the
direct address
I think www.liamerven.com/miriani then that should work.

My question is what is a MOO game?
What do I need to run a MOO game?
Is there a site that lists MOO games or does anyone know of any I can try?
Will the MOO games work on mud client or is there a better engine I should

Has anyone played the browser-based Legendary Tales text RPG games?
It says all I need is a browser that has flash 9 installed and I have
that. However it also calls these games muds, so do I need a mud client to
play them? Or will they just play using my screen reader in my browser?

Re: [Audyssey] off topic: qbasic compiler

2009-09-04 Thread Tristan B
You will need a compiler, Visual Basic would be your best bet, from
Microsoft's site.

It does cost a good handful of cash, though. So watch that.

I have Ms Vb.net, and I think its definitely worth it if you don't have to
pay anything, because there is a free version of VB.net, I believe.

The free version has more accessibility issues though, so just giving you a
heads up there.

Its on the Microsoft Visual Basic website, just try googling it should be in
the first three results.

to learn about mudding on allbeit a little hack and slash.

I was wondering however if there was a soundpack available which I could

with Vip mud, sense; I do enjoy having sound in games.

I read about a customized version of mushclient which included a

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hey all!

I have made a few new cars for topspeed. I have a random car, which got
it's name because I don't know what it is, 2 ford rangers, a yamaha road
star, which is my dad's actual bike, and a 1988 olds. Plus a revised,
faster version of my old merk, and a 1989 carra van. If you want any of
these cars, email me or add me to your contacts with the info listed
below. If you have any new cars which you have made or gotten, let me
know!

Make it a great one!

Hello Mike,

The connection information is below
Host: dentinmud.org
Port: 3000
They also have a blind-friendly port that will strip the ansi colors and
text from the game.

--
Host: dentinmud.org
Port: 3010
Most blind and visually impaired users use this port.

To get a sound pack for both Alter Aeon and toastsoft.net's Miriani that is
universally accessible with both games, and it also has a script that makes
adding games easy.

Valiant8086 can tell you more -- he created it!

Hope this helps.

I read about a customized version of mushclient which included a

I am writing a tutorial, that will be easier. I realise that alot of the
tutorials are very hard to understand. I may put up a learning MOO, made for

Try these two sites.

My MOO archive that I've set up has alot of useful tutorials under the docs
folder, just look around there.

http://TrekGames.net/MOO

And also Lisdude's website has alot of great docs and tutorials for MOO,
that I found easier than most.

Also, CosmosCore will have its own MOO devoted to expanding and new

Hello all,
I just had an idea, and decided to put it out on the list.
I, for one, am very interested in learning the moo programming
language. Unfortunately, this language is very old, and out of date.
But there are still quite a few people who continue to use it in games
(EG: Miriani, etc).
I understand that most of these people were adults who were around
when moo was developed. Therefore, there was much support for it and
those who were interested could learn it.
However, those of us who are interested but were not around for moo’s
development do not have the option of learning it from others.
Unfortunately, there are very few tutorials that I find very easy to
understand, and those who know moo do not want to teach it, except for
the few that ran “Learn moo”
I am sorry to learn that the classes they kindly offered did not do
well at all. I for one would have come, all though I had college.
Anyway, it would be great if, in stead of hosting live lessons,
someone could write a series of lessons for those who were interested
to download at their convenience.
I for one would be perfectly happy to host the files and write an intro.
Although I am not ashamed to admit I only know the basics of building and
verbs.

Would it be possible for someone who knows moo, or even a group of
people, to write lessons for those interested to take and use?
I just don’t think it’s very fair for us to have to scrounge around
the web for tutorials made in 2000 and earlier.
Just an idea and one I hope someone will give some attention to.
Thanks much,
Nick

Top ten ways to get mainstream game accessibility
10. Organize all the guide dog owners in the country to visit mainstream
game company headquarters and have their dogs poop on the floor.
9. Kidnap the children of mainstream game company executives and hold
them ransom until their games are Accessible.
8. Picket mainstream game company headquarters with Braille signs saying
that they are discriminating to the blind.
7. Have every blind person in the world learn computer programming and
require them to debug a line of game code before they can read an audio
book.
6. Start a charity, National Association of Accessible Games, and get
people to donate millions of dollars, then hire sighted programmers to
develop accessible games.
5. Get all colleges to add a class of Accessible game development to all
computer programming courses.
4. Get the NFB and ACB to protest that there are not enough mainstream
game accessibility.
3. Petition Stevie Wonder to be the spokesperson for mainstream game
accessibility.
2. Get all blind people to send a dollar to Thomas Ward so he can finish
his accessible game engine.

And the top way to get mainstream game accessibility,
Visit the homes of mainstream game company executives and poke their
eyes out.

Hi Che,
I know the feeling. I'm not sure why but simple and easy games appears to
be what sells in the accessible games market. As many people know one of
my plans will be to create a full blown 3d game engine, as in actual 3d
levels with 3d objects, 3d movement, as well as 3d audio support. No
sooner did i mention my plans I got various comments to the effect that
anything I made using it would be too hard even though they never seen
the final product yet.
One of the things that bothered me was some people immediately tried to
tell me that because they have problems with Audioquake and Technoshock
they absolutely know that they couldn't play any of my games. They didn't
seam to consider the fact that with Audioquake accessibility is poorly
implemented, and because it is a modified version of Quake it wasn't
designed from the ground up for a blind player. Accessibility is an add
on, and there could be a lot more done to it to provide accessibility.
Technoshock also has some accessibility issues, that make it harder than
say Shades of Doom to play, and i feel accessibility could b done better
in that game. I've seen what works and what doesn't and I'd use that
experience plus my own blindness to work out any and all accessibility
problems that might crop up.
Anyway, the bottom line is now and then we see a thread like this where
someone suggests coming up with something new, something different,
something more mainstream, and when a developer tries to do that, come up
with something truly amazing like Rail Racer, the complaints thatit is too
hard come rolling in. As a developer we really can't win. No matter if we
do something easy or something new and slightly challenging someone is
going to complain.

didn't want to spend the next 18 months on something that wasn't going to

have enjoyed the online fighting game would have really enjoyed it a lot,
as those that play rail racer constantly do, but there just aren't enough
of them out there to justify the time spent.

folks like it fine, if not, whatever, you got to go with what yer
passionate about, or the results come out luke warm at best.
as for other developers out there, i can't comment, they do what they
do, and so far innovation hasn't been at the top of any of their lists
lately from what i've seen.

We can only hope that changes soon.
This is not a money making market to spend hundreds and perhaps thousands
of hours on a project and make just a few grand on it. you have to love
doing it almost as a hobby , or yer in for dissapointment.
I set up the card room because I love poker, and also to offset some of
my dedicated server costs, and folks that have played have told me they
are the best card games out there for the blind, with features not seen
anywhere else. But even so, nobody is gonna make a living doing this
stuff.
i've seen cracked copies of most of the accessible games out there,
hosted by fellow blinks. these people are total idiots, not realizing the
damage they are doing to the accessible gaming market, but they don't
care. i know some of them are reading this, and if you are sharing any
cracked games, you should be very ashamed of yourself. in sucha small
market, the damage you are doing is immense.
Bottom line, if your a fellow developer working on a game now, my hat is
off to you, this is a hard task without much reward or thanks, but non
developers don't

You're definitely right about that Tristan. Many of us complain about how
most games are too easy, which I can definitely agree with, but then when
something new comes out or is even mentioned we start whining and
snivelling about how it'd be too hard. Take Technoshock for instance.
Granted I spent months on Technoshock before I got really frustrated with
it, but I saw complaints on the audiogames.net forum within days. Some
were quite rude as I recall.
But if this business between myself and my girlfriend Angel works out
hopefully the AG market will start to see some games we can really be
proud of. My girlfriend is a fairly apt programmer I found out and when I
mentioned the idea of computer games for the blind she got really excited
and wanted us to work together on something. She might even join this
list. It's one of the places I referred her to for information.

Hi Che,
I know the feeling. I'm not sure why but simple and easy games appears
to be what sells in the accessible games market. As many people know one
of my plans will be to create a full blown 3d game engine, as in actual
3d levels with 3d objects, 3d movement, as well as 3d audio support. No
sooner did i mention my plans I got various comments to the effect that
anything I made using it would be too hard even though they never seen
the final product yet.
One of the things that bothered me was some people immediately tried to
tell me that because they have problems with Audioquake and Technoshock
they absolutely know that they couldn't play any of my games. They
didn't seam to consider the fact that with Audioquake accessibility is
poorly implemented, and because it is a modified version of Quake it
wasn't designed from the ground up for a blind player. Accessibility is
an add on, and there could be a lot more done to it to provide
accessibility. Technoshock also has some accessibility issues, that make
it harder than say Shades of Doom to play, and i feel accessibility
could b done better in that game. I've seen what works and what doesn't
and I'd use that experience plus my own blindness to work out any and
all accessibility problems that might crop up.
Anyway, the bottom line is now and then we see a thread like this where
someone suggests coming up with something new, something different,

That's why I have started in coding my own MOO, which is a type of MUD -- on

For the most part accessible games tend to fall into two catagories.
Either they are simple board and card games, or an arcade game type

what

was available to me before I lost my sight, and is the main reason I

As for the GMA engine I have to disagree with you. Besides the fact
it
is a bit old it still is one of the best tools an accessible

used to create some killer accessible games. We have already seen

some

updates it should be able to create games more or less on par with

isn't the fault of the tool here, but perhaps it is the developer's
lack of imagination, creativity, or experience with full blown FPS

As for the Star Wars game I was working on I had to put that project

Hi Charles,
As a matter of fact that's almost exactly how I am. I'll play
something like SoundRTS for a week or two, get burned out, play Chess
or Uno, get burned out, and play something else. Eventually, the cycle
will start over. It is actually difficult for a game to keep my
attention for very long.
Take Sryth for example. While I truely enjoy the game I go through
spells where I play it almost every day, and then there will be a
spell where I don't do anything with my character for a month. Then,
one weekend I'll find myself board, login, and play actively for a
week or so before growing board with it again.
This so-called cycle is what makes it hard for me to complete a game
like Jim's NFL Football game. I'll start out a season make it through
6 or 10 games and get board off my rear. Perhaps a month later I'll
start playing and resume the season again losing my momentum and
drive to make it to the Super Bowl. I've litterally had a game of
football last a year before i made it to the Super Bowl, because even
though I like the game it can't keep my attention for very long. I'll
play a couple of games and not pick it up again for weeks .
Although, I am pretty sure why this happens. The bottom line is there
aren't very many accessible games that truly satisfies me. Before I
lost my vision I was into games like Tomb Raider, Jedi Knight, the
original Heroes Might and Magic, Mech Warrior, and various other games
that were out in the mid 1990's. There are very few accessible games
that really compare. Shades of Doom and GMA Tank Commander are the
closest I can think of which is why I purchased both as soon as I
could. I don't personally get the same entertainment or satisfaction
out

You should be able to set it up just fine. Just make sure that nothing
is

blocking the sensor bar and that the sports cd is in correctly--you'll
get

a weird blurping sound if it's not. You'll also need to sync a second
remote if you have one, by holding buttons 1 and 2, the little round
buttons, down once the Wii is activated.
I haven't tried the resort games yet, but when I get a little extra cash
I

intend to get it--the gyros are supposed to make play a lot more
realistic.
As far as accessibility goes, Party games 1 is very accessible. You'll
just have to memorize where each game is, they don't change position.
Shuffleboard, for example, is on the bottom I believe three games from
the

left--not sure. Party games 2 is harder to set up and the only
difference

is that it has a football throwing game and other game features are
enhanced; for example, every time you release the a button, the puck is
released, which doesn't always happen with the original.
Wii fit is also very accessible for the most part, but some games like
skiing you won't be able to do because you won't know which way to go.
The hoola hoop is especially awesome because you can hear which side the
hoop falls on and know to lean that way to catch it. The tightrope game
is pretty easy too, and you'll hear the chompers--and when they get too
loud you jump over them. The only problem is you won't know which way
you're leaning.
Sonic at the Olympics only has a few games in that collection that are
accessible. There are also two Wii games you can play on your PC, both
free. One is called Audiodyssey and the other is Darkroom. For that,
you'll need a Bluetooth hookup.
As far as I know, there is no GTA for the Wii, but my brother-in-law says
that they have Bully, which might be worth checking out. They also have
Mortal Kombat, which I definitely want to get, and a boxing game called
Punchout that Lliam Ervin did a podcast on, but since I missed the show I
can't tell you much about it except that you face contender after
contender until you become champ.

yes tristan, you are beign rpedgedist.
And as for the alter aeon non described combat, I think the script
sounds make up for it, and it has tons of areas and quests, but yeah.
It all goes to the same in every mud, some muds are just different.
But tristan yes, you were predgedist.

Such is the way of all muds, no matter how advanced. From godwars2, the
most advanced mud I've ever seen, all the way down the line to your
basic

diku, abyr and lp codebases, it all degenerates to the same thing in the
end. Even games like miriani and star conquest where the killing is
indirect, its all still grinding in my opinion. The difference in a lot
of

gamers is that there's different levels of grinding that people can deal
with. Some people can play alter aeon all day and grind to their hearts
content, even though the combat is hardly descriptive at all and
grinding

gets rather slow at higher levels. Some people need the more advanced
miriani to get their grinding fix and earn their place on a game. Me
personally, I generally don't like grinding in any form, but instead
look

for well-described combat or attack skills, for example: New moon,
discworld, unofficial squaresoft mud. I also look for advanced
mechanics,
godwars2, project bob, etc. Very, very few muds interest me for long,
and

even the ones that do I get bored of eventually no matter how powerful I
get, hence my ripping of miriani a few days back. Almost any mud,
provided

you've never played anything like it before, can start out good, but in
the end it all turns into the same thing after a while.

It isn't that, *yet*. It is in public beta (exitting ALPHA) stages, and we
are working our hardest to code, and build it the most realisticly. Have you
connected in the last month or two? I will ask you.

The coders and builders have made alot of modifications and changes to the

more realistic. The coder(S) and builder(S) also strive to make your time

I will be posting an email introductor-ing, as it were, the NEW Cosmos. In
Cosmos, we made alot of mistakes, that were very little at first, but slowly

The combat has been improved. We have a plot, and there are new ships. We
also have a new sound pack, thanks to Bryan Davis, one of our players.

To download the sound pack, or just browse the site, visit

Subject: [Audyssey] Release Candidate for Top Speed 2.1 has arrived!

Exactly four years after the first public release of Top Speed 1.1, an
updated version of Top Speed 2 is available for testing. Top Speed 2.1 has
some bug fixes compared to 2.0 aswell as some minor new features:

the menu has been rearranged
some new sounds, tracks and cars
more realistic physics model
support for custom tracks in multiplayer
Known issues:
In the menu, two sounds won't be playing simultaneously anymore, except in
the local internet game selection menu, where this issue can still occur.
The ReadMe contains some 'empty' sections. This will be fixed in the final
release.
Sometimes the game crashes when you leave the assign keys section of the
options menu
The X-Sight Interactive TS2 Utility Pack also could contain some bugs or
problems. As this pack isn't a product of Playing in the dark, you can
send your bug reports or questions to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
We would like to thank Davy Kager from Ducktail Games for the programming
assistance. A special thanks to Damien Sadler for contributing the
TS2Pack. Also a thank you for Arjan Tool, Melanie van Egmond, Axel Vugts
and Florian Bijers for the initial testing.
Note: This is a release candidate version, which means that the game could
still contain some bugs and issues. Please mail your bug reports (with the
tracing.txt file attached) to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

So I have some good news and bad news.

Good news. Liam got a full time job writing scripts for a company.
The bad news. This leaves me with virtually no time for writing
computer
games. My day looks like this.
wake up at 5. eat breakfast, and then make myself look presentable.
Get
in
some sort of vehicle at 7 to go to the train. get onthe trian at
7:45.

Get
to the city my office is in at like 8:30. walk to the office. in any
kind
of weather condition. And btw. it snows here a lot. then from 9
till

4:30
I am a slave to the corperate world. I get on the train at 5, get
home

at
5:45. I check email, then collapse.

I'm not exactly sure what the future will look like for LWorks. It is
possible the company may only need me part time, but.. For right now.
I'm
going in on a daily basis. I will do the best I can to update
existing

games, and do what I need to do. But it's goign to be rough on me. I
certainly will not close up shop. it's not fair to the people who
have

supported me all these years, but I want to let everyone know what's
going
on. It's only fair to keep people informed.

Liam

However, the death system has been entirely rewritten since you last

Hi,
This game is a HumanityMOO/Miriani clone. Miriani in ideas/content and
HumanityMOO in code. For example, when you go there you get a receiver
only
communicator, just like Miriani. You also have a similar creation
system.

Just the areas are different, ship classes, and stargates instead of
jumpgates, but the only activities are salvaging and deliveries (both
copied
off HumanityMOO). I'd advise not going there. Miriani has much more
content
if you want a game like that.
