What's the problem with practising a blend of rituals and beliefs not
associated with Catholicism? Sociologists call it syncretism and
highly value this trend! There are some amazing examples in Goa.
Cuncolim, Siolim, Mapusa, Fatorpa et al. Even Hinduism is an amalgam
of various beliefs, some Vedic others pre-Hindu in nature. Santeri and
more.

And, some 1.3 million links on the pagan links of Christianity itself:
http://www.google.co.in/search?q=pagan+roots+of+Christianityie=utf-8oe=utf-8aq=trls=com.ubuntu:en-US:unofficialclient=firefox-a

We would like to believe in a 'clean', ethnically and ideologically
divided world. But that's not the way it happens. Along the
Pernem-Sindhudurg border, where does Konkani end and Marathi begin? Is
there some thing like a pure Goan? (Who is a Goan, as Priolkar
asked, and went on to answer that in a less-than-satisfatory manner,
for reasons Augusto Pinto has in part outlined.)

[Goanet] ALBERT WRITES........ Does he need a Doctor ?

2009-11-02 Thread rosarioabel fernandes
Albert writes...writes...writes ... ... writes.

On reading his previous articles on goanet I assume that Mr Albert is
frustrated by looking around him to find Catholics  practicing a blend
of rituals and beliefs
not associated with Catholicism.  For this He holds the Catholic
Church responsible.

To show a lost person a way is a good deed. Instead of blaming others
one should do whatever
best possible in his own capacity.   If people are not willing to
listen or understand what is taught
is a different matter and no one other than the lost person is
responsible for it.    Do not rely on others
but try to do your best to guide others individually.  Every drop
makes an ocean.

As far as Mother Mary is concerned, one should know the difference
between worship and intercession.
Jesus performed his first miracle upon the request of Mother Mary who
is our intercessor.
So also in the Bible James Chapter 5 verse 13 - 20, we find
intercession by the elders of the church
for the sick.

As for miracles, does God have to work miracles ? God is not
dependent on man and is not obliged to
work miracles for man.

Keep writing more views and guidelines without any frustration in
mind towards anybody, Mr Albert.

God bless

should write himself instead of foolishly accusing me of saying whether
Jesus is better than these. I have never said that Jesus is better than
Buddha. I am not compering gods or prophets. I am saying that for me talking

Dear friends
I have read about crabs. Yes goans have crab mentality. There was a hue and
cry when Keralities invaded goa. I see Christ when I see a keralite. A
keralite is like a honey bee when he notices a drop of honey will call other
bees to share that. There was a time when every one wanted to go to the
gulf. I had my relations, neigbours and friends in every corner of the gulf.
I approached a few of them but I could not find a place in their hearts
.You will be surprised that even my sister in law landed in kuwait and
inspite of several reminders they never bothered to take me there and I said
I am going to be the last crab in that basket. Had I to be a keralite, some
John or Mathai would take me there, feed me and give me shelter. They share
brotherly love. They dress simple, they work very hard and are ready to work
for less salary but what ever they earn they will send it to their state .
Goans have migrated to Eureopean countries for better status. Please do not
feel offended and many of them visit Goa for a holiday. They always carry
themselves superior to the locals. Once I happened to go for a wedding at
Alvar Mar and was shocked to find a goan returned Canadian come in T shirt
and short pant as if we locals had no respect and sat at my table. While
amids conversation I asked the canadians whether they have any weddings in

books say the same thing over and over again”Love God with your whole heart
and love your neighbour as yourself. We are standing in different directions
of a huge mountain trying to reach the top. One is climbing on the western
side while others may be from other sides and yet that mountain has only one
top –God. The clergy has used their own weapons to keep people divided. If
we have brother hood we would not have condemned our own brothers and
sisters. Today the caste system, the different religions and the different
states and the words like goyemkars and bingtankars all these things shows
we are not religious people. Jesus loved God’s creations and it was this
love that made him work miracles. Our method of saying prayers, veneration
of saints are all not reaching us to God. Unless our clergy get together and
try to feel the presence of God and give up all the earthly ways of
collecting rotten wealth, the clergy along with their followers may not know

Nasci writes about Hindu belief. Hindus do not have any guiding force behind
them. Whatever has been passed from generation to generation has been
imbibed by them. But there are many things similar with the Catholics too.
When a person is dead they light a lamp after the funeral at the place where
he breathed his life. Food is prepared for the beggars and before the food
is eaten leaf plates full of food are kept on the food path for the birds to
eat that as a sign that the dead has gone to heaven. The list is endless.
The statues in the church and homes is also descended to us from Hindu
culture of the past as our ancestors were all hindus. Catholics are not
supposed to adore or venerate statues as it is clearly mentioned in the
bible. Read exodus, or romans and see for your self what we ought to do and
are doing and the religion we follow is entirely different from what Jesus
has taught us.

Dear friends
I have acted in Grant Road and O papagaio Canta e berra. I have acted in
place of Kamat de Assolna only in Bombay while O papagaio Canta e berra I
have acted in six shows held in Goa. There was nothing in grant road to get
A certificate. In fact no tiatrs are censored as far as I know. Grant Road
had a nice story and music by Chris Perry. It spoke about a girl who was
raped and later became a prostitute. When a couple could not get a child and
the wife had turned mad someone suggest to get a prostitute and have sex
with her and place the child in the arms of the mother. O papagio deals with
ghost taking possession and then a priest who does exorscism tries to remove
the ghost. The tiatr did not run well and Mike Mehta could stage only six
shows and that too not houseful as one by one actors tried to get out from
the tiatr.
