For the upcoming release, we are translating both the UI and the entire Web

Hi,

I browsed every page of the new Admin, but i could't find the location to
edit the kill-file and the SMTP access table. Any idea??

Imail 2006 runs still on a test server in the intranet. Like others said,
the WebMail is quite slow.

@Kevin: Any news about the localisation of the webmail?

The Kill List is found as a link on the left side, when in the
Services tab SMTP.
Same with the Control Access (SMTP).

Web mail performance is linked to IIS performance. Microsoft
would be the one to best tell you how to improve IIS performance.
Here is one link I found:

2005-05-04 Thread CyberSharks.Net Support Team
If users will be checking mail from 2 or 3 different locations use IMAP
instead of POP and just have them purge the deleted messages when they no
longer need them. Much more reliable than the settings in Outlook or OE that
say to leave messages on the server. I have seen many problems with this
setting that either the messages aren't left on the server or if they have
it set to delete them after a certain number of days they are never deleted.

IMAP is much better for a roaming user...

Weird –
Something that I have seen on the list in the past is that if you have an on
access virus scanner that is set to delete infected messages it can delete
the MBX because it is one file.  Maybe that is what happened, because of the
huge volume of viruses over the last day or two…

Hi,

I have quite a weird issue, concerning mail disappearing last night.

A few of the management team use Outlook Express to view email at home
(using the leave a copy on mail server option).  They have been doing this
for over a year now.

Emails that where received at their home have not been received on their
work machines.  Now, normally I would say that there's 80% chance that the
problem lies with their OE settings at home (the leave a copy of mail server
box has been unchecked by their kids etc).  But I also had people who had
been checking their mail via webmail and the exact same issue has happened
their.  - Just a coincidence, possibly.  But the people who reported the
issue with webmail are extremely competent.  So now I'm left scratching my
head wondering what happened.

There's a definite gap in my own mail between 11.00 PM last night and 9.00
AM this morning.  I have checked the logs and it shows that mail was
delivered to my Mailbox (about 17 messages)???

Any suggestions about how to figure out

RE: [IMail Forum] Missing

2005-05-04 Thread Travis Rabe

10 to 1 their mailbox (*.mbx) file had a
virus in it and your virus scanner removed the whole thing or quarantined it.
Check your AV logs to see what it has done over the night. And remove
\imail\users and imail\spool from the scan.

I had some issue with mail not being
downloaded by OE (in pop) if they were marked as read in webmail or with an IMAP account

Maybe this is the problem? As soon as you mark the message as unread
in webmail (or with IMAP) it fixes the problem

When you mark mail that has been read read
to unread on the web mail interface your mail client will re-download
it. Ive done this for a few of the less organized people here.

I had some issue with mail not being
downloaded by OE (in pop) if they were marked as read in webmail
or with an IMAP account

Maybe this is the problem? As soon
as you mark the message as unread in webmail (or with IMAP) it
fixes the problem

10 to 1 their mailbox

Hi,

I have quite a weird issue, concerning
mail disappearing last night.

A few of the management team use
Outlook Express to view email at home (using the leave a copy on mail
server option). They have been doing this for over a year now.

Emails that where received at their
home have not been received on their work machines. Now, normally I would
say that there's 80% chance that the problem lies with their OE settings at
home (the leave a copy of mail server box has been unchecked by their kids
etc). But I also hadpeople who had been checking their mail via
webmail and the exact same issue has happened their. - Just a
coincidence, possibly. But the people who reported the issue with webmail
are extremely competent. So now I'm left scratching my head wondering what
happened.

There's a definite gap in my own
mail between 11.00 PM last night and 9.00 AM this morning. I have checked
the logs and it shows that mail was delivered to my Mailbox (about 17
messages)???

Any suggestions about how to figure
out where these message went?

Removing the spool directory will only
stop incoming/infected e-mails from being orphaned or deleted. Was the users
directory removed from the scan? If it was, then this is not your
problem.

Weird

Something that I have seen on the list in
the past is that if you have an on access virus scanner that is set to delete
infected messages it can delete the MBX because it is one file. Maybe
that is what happened, because of the huge volume of viruses over the last day

Re: [IMail Forum] missing receive from line

2005-03-25 Thread [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Normally, when I look at the header for an email, the first line is the
receive: from line. Granted that spammers can forge most of that line,
you
can still see the last place that forwarded the message to your server. I
just looked at a couple of messages and found that line missing. I was
wondering how this happened and what it means.

We had a client complain about excessive spam, and they forwarded some
samples to us. These are the messages I found missing the receive: from
line. Assuming they're receiving the mail from our server, shouldn't that
line be there? Or could they have a program on their desktop PCs that is
cutting it out?
Is you client using Outlook? Outlook seems to do a good job of removing all
of the header info I want to read. I do get all the info I want when I read
it with Outlook Exrpress.

Re: [IMail Forum] Missing Email in v8.10 Imail Server Pro

2004-05-07 Thread R. Scott Perry

Some users have reported a drastic reduction in the amount of email they
received over night, me included. Could there be a reason why email isn't
making its way to user's mailboxes (even boxes set up to catch mail hooked
out by processing rules)?
Do you have any known cases of E-mail that was not delivered? Or are
people just reporting that there is less E-mail than normal? Without any
solid evidence (Aunt Bertha tried sending me an E-mail and I did not get
it), it would be very difficult to find out what happened (you would need
to spend some time reading the log files).

If you do have a case of an E-mail that wasn't delivered, you can check the
log files to see whether it made it to your server, and if so, what
happened to it.

As far as I am aware there haven't been any instances of outgoing mail

I selected the options to have a header and trailer inserted into each
message, and the header.txt and trailer.txt files exist in the correct lists

I'm running IMail 8.05 HF2 on a Win2k3 server.

Most likely, they are HTML E-mails. Most mail clients won't display
headers/footers added outside of MIME in E-mails that use HTML (or are
otherwise MIME encoded).

Re: [IMail Forum] Missing Body In message

2004-02-23 Thread R. Scott Perry

Since implementing Imail as my incoming gateway, I've had problems with
lists from an epa.gov server. They come in with no body.
We captured the incoming packets with a packet sniffer and it appears to
arrive in with a Base64 body.
Declude virus scans something.
When it arrives in my final e-mail system, there is no body. It was
working before adding IMAIL into the mix.
This may happen if you use footers and both [1] The E-mail is sent in a
very unusual format (using MIME, but treating the entire E-mail as its own
MIME segment, rather than as E-mail with one or more MIME segments), and
[2] The mail client that processes the E-mail can't handle footers properly.

In this case, you would need to remove all footers in order to support the
problem mail client (with Declude Virus, you can remove all the lines in
the virus.cfg file that begin with FOOTER).

Marco,

First, make sure you still have a SYMCSCAN directory on the drive where your
operating system is installed and that it is populated. Next in your Control
PanelServices applet make sure you still have the Symantec CarrierScan
Services installed (both of them) and they are running. To check this telnet
to the IP address on the port (default is ) you have configured in the

220 Symantec CarrierScan Service ready.

If all of this is correct you need to turn the IMail AV on in the registry

HKLM\Software\Ipswitch\IMail\Global\ScanInstalled set to 1

This should get you back. Also send me the batch file you set up so I can

Eric, thanks for your help!

as a matter of fact, I found

echo Run date C:\SYMCScan\CSLIVE.LOG
date /t C:\SYMCScan\CSLIVE.LOG
echo at C:\SYMCScan\CSLIVE.LOG

cmd /c C:\SYMCScan\cslive.exe /silent C:\SYMCScan\CSLIVE.LOG
@echo run complete.  C:\SYMCScan\CSLIVE.LOG

anyway I could not understand the reason for which the registry key was set
to 0... nobody has ever changed this value, I'm quite sure..

my question is, do you think this can happen again? maybe liveupdate changed
this value? ..mmm... I hope it didn't..

Re: [IMail Forum] Missing Email

2002-05-20 Thread R. Scott Perry

I am having a strange problem. I have someone wo has been sending me
email and I am not getting it. They say they don't recieve an error
message back say it wasn't delivered. Now their tech sees in their logs
that it was delivered just fine. What could be wrong here.

Now you need to check your logs. If their tech is right, then you'll see
log file entries showing the E-mail being delivered to you (MAIL FROM and
RCPT TO are the key lines to look for). If their logs show the E-mail
was delivered, either your server accepted it, or there's a slight chance
that it could be a DNS issue (in which case their logs should show the IP
address they sent the mail to).

Then you either have to [1] Request the information from the tech at the
remote mailserver, or [2] Ignore the problem. There isn't much else you
can do (aside from looking up their MX record in an attempt to guess where
their mail would have come from, and search the logs for that IP). If
their tech won't give you the information, it's safe to assume a problem on
their end.

It shouldn't be the result of a hacker.

You can ask their tech the IP address of the mailserver that sent the
E-mail (and the IP address they sent it to, to make sure it was sent to
your mailserver). You can then search your logs for that IP, in case of
some odd problem (for example, if they sent to a misspelled address).

See this is my service provider and some outside party has started with
making false accusations and started a big dispute between me and them now
all of a sudden their email no longer gets to me. Is there a known way
for a hacker to do this

It is technically possible that it could be a hacker (for example, if they
added an entry to the HOSTS file of the server the mail was being sent
from). If that is the case, though, you should be able to tell from their
logs what happened (if the HOSTS file was used, for example, you'll see
that the E-mail was sent to a bogus IP).

Re: [IMail Forum] Missing POST data?

2001-02-13 Thread Daniel Bowers

Old issue, hoping newcomer to list can help:

I now have 7 IE5.5 users whose Web Messaging activity generates these iMail
error logs:
ADMN CHNG "admin" Attempt to add user to domain "" from "" failed because
username is empty
or
ADMN CHNG "admin" Attempt to change password for user "" of domain "" failed
because userid is invalid

Users report that when they click "Save" or "Change", iMail returns an error
message similar to what's inserted into the log files.

3 users have changed to Navigator to avoid the problem. Searching through
my iMail logs revealed that this has been happening for a few months, but
users hadn't started complaining until recently. I have the latest iMail
server default templates. My gut suggests this is an IE5.5 javascript
problem, but I was hoping someone could offer a suggestion.

Re: [IMail Forum] Missing IP view from console.

2001-01-17 Thread Daniel Donnelly

Steve,

Bad data (registry) from old machine? I really don't know, but it sounds
like corruption could have occured before/just after the move. One could try
reusing the original registry and hope that it was not bad, but I suspect
you will see the problem again.

If you have the registry data as text, you might try breaking it into
smaller parts (one or 2 domains) and try using that portion. Use a few parts
at a time and try to find the 'bad' one.

I can no longer see the IPs or virtual IP addresses in the console. I made
sure the 'wizard' view was not enabled. Upon further review I noticed the
registry seems corrupted. When I check some of the IP addressed in the
registry they show aliases that are incorrect such as other virtual domains
that should not be aliased (the domains alias are correct in the console
however).

This is a new machine, new IMail install with data that was transfered from
an old machine. Any ideas?

Thanks.

On two occasions, the log file entry contained a partial domain

The complaintants can repeat this error message consistantly.
I do not get the error when using their account, nor does it

Each of the complaintants is using IE5, and one reported the

Re: [IMail Forum] missing message #1!

2000-11-30 Thread R. Scott Perry

The mailbox corrupts constantly, where that there is "no mail message
 number 1" - though there is 2, 3, etc.

We'll get to this after dealing with the next piece...

I'm running a looped query against the mailbox that request the first
message and then deletes it from the mailbox.

I'm not clear on whether you are doing this to "solve" the problem, or if
you are doing this for other reasons.

If you are doing it to solve this problem, I admire your work. But, the
right thing to do is figure out why it is happening (see below).

If you are doing this for other reasons, then it obviously is your problem.
You really shouldn't be reading and writing to mailbox files. Doing so
without knowing exactly how to do it is asking for troubles.

The mailbox corrupts constantly, where that there is "no mail message
 number 1" - though there is 2, 3, etc.

Back to this again. Assuming that looped query you wrote was in response to
the problem (IE it was occuring before you wrote that code), here is what to
do:

Take one of these corrupt mailboxes (the smallest one, or the one with the
least potentially confidential information), and send it to Ipswitch tech
support. They should be able to at least figure out what is wrong with it,
and why you are experiencing the symptoms that you mention.

The next step, once the problem with the mailbox file is determined, is to
figure out why the mailbox is getting corrupted in that way. The contents
of the corrupted mailbox file are the biggest clue (IE, missing data in
there, extra data, whatever).

Re: [IMail Forum] missing message #1!

2000-11-30 Thread Daniel Donnelly

Without seeing exactly what POP3/IMAP4 commands you (or your 'looped query')
are issuing, I cannot say exactly what you are doing and if that is
'correct'. But I can see a way to duplicate what you see, using telnet and
POP3.

If one connects to a user account, then issue a DELE 1 command, then try a
RETR 1 command, the system will say 'no such message' and if you disconnect
correctly (issue a QUIT command), then the next access to that mailbox will
show X-1 messages (as it is supposed to do and with the 2nd message becoming
#1!). However, if one disconnects incorrectly (just aborting the connection)
IMail will see that as a bad POP3 session and will _not_ perform the 'DELE
1' operation, restoring the mailbox to the state it was in before that
connection (again, as it should do to an improperly terminated session).

If you connected with another POP3 session, while the above connection was
extablished (and after the DELE command issued), that 2nd connection could
see that there are X messages (using STAT) in the mailbox, but the DELEted
one cannot be read with 'RETR #', as IMail has marked it for deletion, but
not yet performed that operation, as the first connection (that issued the
command!) is still open. Again, this is how it should work.

The only 'problem' I see with this is that IMail allows the second
connection (that could be a 'feature' depending on your perspective), so one
could connect and see the mailbox in the transition state, rather than in a
normal state, before all operations in the first session are completed.

So, I suspect you are not disconnecting correctly or connecting multiple
times to the mailbox, with your 'looped query' and 'causing' the problem.

Note that this could also happen if another access method (IMAP4, Web MSG)
were connected to that user account and similiar operations performed, at
the same time.

I even found that if the first connection were broken (not terminated
correctly, so 'DELE 1' is not performed), the second can now see the
'deleted' message, ('RETR 1' now returns the complete message) even though
it could not, prior to this.

So the mailbox is not really corrupt, just in a state of flux at the time
you see the 'no such message' error message. If your 'looped query' connects
but never disconnects before the loop starts again, you could easily have
more than one connection open to the mailbox and think you see it as
'corrupted'. Maybe you need to put a 'disconnect and wait a short while' in
the loop to give IMail the opportunity to close the mailbox and complete the
DELE 1 (and any other operations).

Also, if you used a 'DELE 2' command, instead of 'DELE 1', you probably
would find that you never have problems with message 1.

Subject: [IMail Forum] missing "message #1"!

I just sent this email to Ipswitch technical support - but was wondering
if
anyone else out there might also have an idea on how to deal with this:

 Dear Ipswitch / Imail Support:

The mailbox corrupts constantly, where that there is "no mail message
number
 1" - though there is 2, 3, etc.

The email that "isn't there" is still visible - and can be read - through
the Imail Client on the server. Deleting it (the message that isn't there)
from the client will free the mailbox again, but the system corrupts in a
 matter of minutes.

I'm running a looped query against the mailbox that request the first
message and then deletes it from the mailbox. Though not "fast" - doing
this
to 35 messages takes a few minutes (I manipulate the data and save it into
a
database before deleting) - the Mailbox corrupts somewhere through the
loop
 almost 85% of the time.

Manually deleting a .uid file will not work as this is supposed to be an
automated process, and to be done on 100's of email accounts.

Can you please indicate a solution, or, wrap-around to the problem of the
"does not exist - message number 1" that is occurring?

 Thank you for your time,
 Stephen R. Cassady

Re: [IMail Forum] missing message #1!

2000-11-30 Thread ipswitch

Daniel Donnelly's response is pretty close on to what's happening, and I
have a workaround (very poor workaround, but one none the less) to assist
for the time being. Let me see if I can go farther:

Without seeing exactly what POP3/IMAP4 commands you
(or your 'looped query') are issuing, I cannot say exactly what
you are doing and if that is 'correct'.

Briefly: running Cold Fusion middleware, standard CFLOOP with proper
transaction code, error catching, and query locking. If I trust the code -
having gone over it a LOT does not mean it's trustworthy :) - It should be
completing all actions on it's end, waiting for completion before running
the next iteration of the loop.

Running a third-party (non-Cold Fusion) java-mail code to replace CF's CFPOP
command (highly flaky and processor intensive).

However, if one disconnects incorrectly (just aborting the connection)
IMail will see that as a bad POP3 session and will _not_ perform the 'DELE
1' operation,

This is what I assume happens, but with the following observation: the "will
_not_ perform" occurs after several interactions of the loop (which I've had
to break down to run 35 every five minutes to slow down the corruption) -
say iteration 8 through to 35 of the thirty-five. What this leads me to
believe that there is - for lack of knowing how to phrase this - something
slow in the DELE function on the Imail side - or something takes a long time
to close - and it allows the loop to issue a new RETR command, creating for
Imail and improper disconnect (or something similar).

Running one query a minute over the mail (I have the folder backed up and
have been running the queries against the EXACT SAME emails) - will cause
none of the "Missing Message #1" - problems to occur.

There just seems (and again, I can easily be wrong) to be something that
isn't moving quickly on the Imail side to keep the process in time to the
requests. Is there a timing issue of some sort that we are not aware of?

So, yup - I'm connecting with another POP3 session when the code I'm running
has completed the transaction, and gone back again for more! ("Please sir,
can I have some more?").

If I have to give Imail time to complete the process - exactly how much time
is that (milliseconds, seconds, etc.)? Does anyone know?

So, I suspect you are not disconnecting correctly or
connecting multiple times to the mailbox,
with your 'looped query' and 'causing' the problem.

Connecting multiple times. But I loop because:
I'm pulling emails into a database. I want to make sure I grab each and
every email - so I go grab one at a time. I don't want a case where I delete
message ID #1, which shifts all other message ID's down one, so by deleting
Message ID #2 I'm actually deleting Message ID #3, and Message #2 has become
#1 - and has been missed.

So the mailbox is not really corrupt,
Well, I called it corrupt because by deleting them main.uid file - the
system is forced to re-index and recognize the deletion. Now, with the scale
of the project - this becomes very cumbersome to code into the system.
Managing one email account works, but hundreds or thousands? Right now -
based on the information I get from GetAll, message one - if it's corrupt I
catch the error, delete the .uid and continue on in the loop. That does
correct the situation.

But cumbersome, messy, and - well - a performance issue that would be best
addressed at the Imail level, not through middleware.

Also, if you used a 'DELE 2' command, instead of 'DELE 1', you probably
would find that you never have problems with message 1.

Ha ha ha ha hah aha. ROTFL. I HAVE done that. And all I get is "no such
message" error created after a while for message 2. Indeed, I tried looping
that on error I would ignore all messages up to that error. So, slowly I
grew from no errors, to message 1, to message 1 2, to, well, I went up to
message 1 though 4 before I pulled the plug.

Mr. Donnelly, thank you for your response - I think it's highly accurate as
to what and why things are happening - I just don't know of a good solution
(as in one I would trust under enterprise level abuse). I don't believe
catching the error and deleting the .uid to be a good solution. There has to
be a solution closer to the source, and that means something with the Imail
engine. (I think!).

 Larry,

So, you are saying, you get only some email left in this account, when
using
the ".,address" forwarding and the destination address, gets all the mail
including that which does not get left in the account. Without the
forward,
you still do not get the messages (because no forward, none in the

 account, either).

This sounds like Rules are having some effect. I'd have to check the oder
of
processing for the V5 to be absolutly sure, but anytime only 'some' email
is
left in an account, Rules are the most likely possibility. If Forwarding
preceeds Rules, then this could certainly expain how it might happen. All
msgs would be forwarded, but only those kept by rules would stay in the
 mailbox.

Attachments appear as the 'body' of the email (and can have what appear to
be text strings, that could match a rule), so any rule that matches could
keep the message from being kept in the mailbox. Guess I'd suggest, either
remove the Rules, or make sure all rules output got to a 'catchall'
mailbox,
so you can see them. If that shows the missing messages, then you know
that
Rules were the cause and then you can 'fix' the Rules.

By any chance did your Rules get modified on that date??

passing by. Yes I have the forward setup as ".,[EMAIL PROTECTED]",
and without the forward the message is lost.

I receive e-mail normal in the transexpress.com from IpSwitch, Sprint, ...,
but a lot of other companies like Hotmail, Okidata, CatalogCity, ... has the
problem described.

I have rebooted, check for space limited (not limited), filters (same as

Larry,

If all the other domains work as expected, why would IMail treat this one
differently and be the 'cause' of the problem??

The only things in IMail that could possible do anything like this are the
Domain settings for 'Default Max MSG Size', 'Single Max Message size' and
default 'Max Messages' (if all of those are available in the 5.0x!). So are
those settings different on the problem domain? If these are increased, does
the problem go away (for a while).

Got any logs to show IMail rejecting a message? There will be an
explaination in the log, if IMail rejects a message (and a postmaster
message from the senders SMTP server, too). How about any bounced messages,
that the sender gets (you MUST _not_ have SMPT Security, 'Refuse Null
Senders', enabled, or postmaster message might not reach their destination!.
Uncheck, Apply, stop/start SMTP service, if you do have that enabled.

Attachments usually increase the size of email, a lot! That makes me think
the Message Size settings are the most likely cause.

About two weeks ago one of my domain stop receiving e-mail from some

I am convinced that the problem is with Imail (V 5.9) and this specific

problem, also receive all the attachment.

Does any one have any idea of how to fix this problem.

 Thanks.

Re: [IMail Forum] Missing e-mails, Any idea !!!

2000-10-13 Thread Daniel Donnelly

Larry,

So, you are saying, you get only some email left in this account, when using
the ".,address" forwarding and the destination address, gets all the mail
including that which does not get left in the account. Without the forward,
you still do not get the messages (because no forward, none in the secondary
account, either).

This sounds like Rules are having some effect. I'd have to check the oder of
processing for the V5 to be absolutly sure, but anytime only 'some' email is
left in an account, Rules are the most likely possibility.

Guess I'd suggest, either
remove the Rules, or make sure all rules output got to a 'catchall' mailbox,
so you can see them. If that shows the missing messages, then you know that
Rules were the cause and then you can 'fix' the Rules.

By any chance did your Rules get modified on that date??

You were right, it seem like the following line, that was the last one I

effect.

I really appreciate that help from you, and now I would like to ask you
another question, do you know how could I specify the string "file:" to

image the is doing some strange effect here.

Thanks again.

RE: [IMail Forum] Missing screens with web messaging

2000-04-12 Thread ron

This is my first day on the list--sorry if this has been covered
before.

I am having problems with the web interface using IMail 6. Users can
access most functions through the browser, but when going to the Change
Password page, there is a completely blank screen. Likewise, IMail
administrator and Host administrator screens are also blank through my
browser (IE 4). The hyperlinks appear on the main page, but a blank
page is all I get after clicking on the links.

I downloaded and installed the IMail zip file with all the latest
templates and stopped and started the web messaging service--no
improvement.

Thanks for any help--it's appreciated.

Brent,

Are you running IMail v6.03? If not, do the upgrade. Did you come to v6
from IMail v5? If so, look for any *.par files in your IMail directory
tree, and delete them. Also make sure your templates are in the default
location of IMail\Web\. Finally, make sure you didn't open and then
re-save any of the templates using a WYSIWIG editor like FrontPage,
which munges IMail templates beyond recognition.

The thing is that I couldn?t find the login.cgi file to

There is no such file. A URL with "login.cgi" in it is interpreted by

Well, darn it, neither do I. Perhaps its intended contents are in one of the
other ini files? Since we don't want to edit the text, I never looked for it
before.

Thanks a lot again!
The IMail manual, talks about a messages.ini which has all
the errors messages. I have to translate them to spanish, but
I can't find the file. It's not on my server!

For that page edit plogin.html. Also make sure you delete
any associated .par files before testing. For example,
plogin.par.

The thing is that I've modified those files but when I enter an
unexisting
user or password, it shows me the template page, not my modified
page.
And what about the messages.ini file where I have to modofy the error
messages I can't find it either.

Re: [IMail Forum] Missing

2000-03-16 Thread Len Conrad

I've seen this happen because the mail address was sent that way from the
mail client. Everytime, ime, the trailing "" was absent, the solution was
at the mail client, not at Imail.

I've seen people copy/paste a mail address into the mail client, slicing
off the last , etc, etc.

I asked this before but to no avail. Hopefully this time someone can provide
some suggestions or solutions. Why does the closing "" disappear in the
email address? Look at the log below:

RE: [IMail Forum] Missing

2000-03-16 Thread Gregor Scott

Jonas,

The issue is that the sender is not being allowed to send mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED].
Notice that there is a "" on the RCPT TO line, but not on the ERR line. It
is nothing to do with the format of the message, but either the sender or
recipient is causing the error. Only on the error line is the "" missing.

Perhaps there is no user/alias of "jonas" in the netwood.net domain, or more
likely the sender's IP address is not the list of valid senders. Check your
security for details of the sender to see if they should be allowed to send
to this address.

Using IMAP? Yes. This is a confirmed problem with OE5.
I have a friend running Exchange Server that is experiencing the
same thing.

 Hi,

Has anyone seen a problem of some messages not showing up in OE 5
running
 from Imail 4.05?

The messages appear through the web browser and actually come up on your
task bar as unread messages, but when you connect to the server, the
 messages will not download.

This is a consistent problem with IMail, but not NetScape IMAP -- running in
parallel in our shop. I don't think this one is a OE5 since it happens with
"regular" Outlook and Netscape Communicator as well. FYI.

Re: [IMail Forum] missing mails

1999-08-23 Thread ## Dusty Carden

Have you actually traced one of their messages back to the log file to
see if it was delivered to its destination domain? I have had users
say this on occasion and as long as I could provide a snip from
the log showing it being delivered to the remote server they were
off my case anyway.

 Hello every one,

I have a strange problems here now. After a long time some users now are
complaining that they are missing mails. People call them and tell them
they
have send mails but users haven't received it. and they have not received
bounced mail too. I was wondering where the he.. has gone. I can not
figure
 it out whats happening.
