Thanks for thinking of me, but I'm not interested. I don't buy the story. It looks like it was parked for 20 years in direct sunlight, not in a shed. Was it Crapsman branded? Yes, it was part of a crapsman tap and die set. SK and Truecraft are wonderful and reasonably priced. I had a little US 3/8 drive SK Socket set I carried in my original 190D. It came in a little steel box. Truecraft makes a Metric allen wrench set that goes up to 17mm. I am on my second set in 40 years. the first set was stolen ~20 years ago. I have never broken one of them. Truecraft 12 adjustable wrench is the #1 farm tool. To me it was used more than a pliers or a knife. snappy for special stuff. Used to buy special stuff from Mac, but they disappeared from this part of the country. Was it Crapsman branded? They've got a bunch of other crappy tool brands now to get out of the warranty business. Best thing I ever did 5-8 years ago was buy an SK ratchet, its an excellent tool. Sadly I guess they've gone in the toilet now too but the ratchet I got is fantastic. Way better than any of the Crapsman ones I've ever had. The Crapsman wrenches now are particularly egregious. They feel terrible in the hand, rough and scratchy. The HF cheapies are polished and lovely, strong too. -Curt From: Curly McLain 126die...@gmail.com To: Curt Raymond curtlud...@yahoo.com; Mercedes Discussion List mercedes@okiebenz.com Sent: Friday, August 28, 2015 3:04 PM Subject: Re: [MBZ] Rebuilding Floor Jack Not true for most of their tools with more than one moving part. -Curt the tap handle on my crapsman tap and die set broke almost immediately. ValPak is a mass mailer who sends those envelopes full of coupons for local businesses out in the mail. They're based over in Clearwater and have one of the largest offset printing operations in the U.S. Nothing nefarious there. Good HF link. [MBZ] 450SL Out gassing pipes
I slowly get the car up to date. She runs now, but still has issue with crap bosch wires that are not sending electrons to all plugs. Fuel delivery is good. The Manifold gaskets were replaced which reduced the El Camino impersonation, but there are failures along the rest of the system that want attention. I probably need a full exhaust system from in front of the cross over pipe back. My best guesstimate is coming out at $1k for the bits and bobs. Now the question, other than which make of exhaust fluid, is which manufacturer of pipes should I purchase? 1974 450SL, no cat, cali car (sort of) clay 2002 s430 - Victor, a Stately well tailored chap 1974 450sl - Frosch - Two tone green 1976 300D - Blei Vanst - it looks silvery 1972 220D - Gump - She was green, simple and ran 1995 E300D - Gave her life to save me against a Dame in a SUV POS 1987 SDL - Beware Nigerian Scammers ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
