Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
I installed spotty and I am able to use my touch as a connected player but I have noticed that the ogg vorbis is recompiled as pcm and auto play does not work. Spotty would stream PCM rather than Ogg if you had volume normalization enabled. But don't worry. It won't hurt the sound quality. I then installed the spotty helper, but now I cannot use my touch as a Spotify connect player, it doesn’t show up in the app. No need to install a helper, as it did play before, didn't it? My lms runs on a raspberry pi 4 (picore). How do I get Spotify to work and how can I use my touch as a Spotify connect player? From your description it looks as if it just worked as expected, until you started to try to change things. So please go back to default settings, no additional helper etc. And make sure you got your client ID configured correctly. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
So now I am on 4.6. And the problem persists, I tried an other player to (squeezebox touch) and the sound is the same. I have tried removing the helper applications from the plugins menu and tried adding both the legacy one, and the ARMv8/aarch64 one. But only the legacy one (the one I listed above) seems to work (when that is not there the Spotty settings page tells me there is a problem finding the helper app). I tried running the different helper apps from command line and all but the legacy fail with errors either illegal instruction or Exec format error (which I believe hints the binary is for the wrong architecture?), this includes the one called spotty-custom you mentioned. I have also enabled flac and pcm for Spotty in the File Types settings. I have also re-entered my account credentials just to be sure. I am not really sure what to try next. Any ideas? Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
The Pi model is B Plus rev 1.2 (512MB RAM). The Spotty helper application is listed as /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/SpottyARMLegacyBin/Bin/spotty (v0.12.2) I guess you've been using that before? Can you double check what binary Spotty is using? It looks as if it didn't use the above, but the default helper. It should say "spotty-custom". In any case: please update to 4.6. If the problem persists (using FLAC and PCM), then please report in http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114836 and include server.log if there's any info about spotty. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
You have to go to the Spotify list of available devices. The problem I have is that sometimes my SB3 is not in the list of available devices. To solve this, I have to power on the SB3 and to play a song. I don’t know what is happening. Spotty has a confusing number of options and modes to interact with. From your description I assume you're talking about the Connect mode. This mode unfortunately isn't very stable. But usually the players should show up automatically after a minute or two. I understand the latest update of Spotty means that it is now not compatible with 32-bit Windows 7 platform anymore. Is there a chance to uninstall that update and reinstall a prior version that would work on a 32-bit windows? The project of updating the system to 64bit will not happen right now so would really want to find a way to get Spotty working for a while more on this system. I'd recommend you do so outside LMS managed folders. This way it should survive plugin updates. Once you restart LMS, Spotty should pick up the custom version. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
Since the 4.5 update (I think) I have noticed that multiple albums are listed in an artist's discography which don't appear in the Spotify app. This seems to be a problem with Spotify's API, I can reproduce it using their API console (https://developer.spotify.com/console/get-artist-albums/?id=_groups): If you left out the "market" filter, you'd get both versions of an album, with a list of countries in which those were available. I can see that one of them was available in my market, while the other wasn't. That's fine. If OTOH you tell them what market to send results for (eg. "UK"), you'd get no availability information back, but still both versions of an album. Which means that in this case the plugin has no way to filter out unavailable items. They would show up, but not play. Haha... looking for bug reports related to this I found the following - on which I had already commented back in May... https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-for-Developers/Artist-albums-endpoint-ignores-market-parameter/m-p/5193283 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Spotty shows my Spotify 'Albums' folder as empty, though it actually contains a large number of albums. I've tried rescanning (both online music and whole library), without success. Scanner log file has this error: [21-07-06 08:45:32.3278] Plugins::Spotty::API::Sync::_call (336) Trying to read from cache for me/albums?limit=50=0 [21-07-06 08:45:32.3282] Plugins::Spotty::API::Sync::_call (338) API call: me/albums?limit=50=0 [21-07-06 08:45:33.8691] Plugins::Spotty::API::Sync::_call (384) Failed to parse JSON response from me/albums?limit=50=0: malformed JSON string, neither array, object, number, string or atom, at character offset 0 (before "(end of string)") at /usr/local/slimserver/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins/Spotty/API/Sync.pm line 377. I'm running LMS 8.1.1 on PiCore (RPi4b); Spotty 4.5.4; Spotty Helper Application for ARMv8 (0.30.2) I'd be very grateful for any suggestions about how to restore my Spotify albums to the Albums folder on Spotty. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] Spotty 4.5 - improved Ogg direct, Autoplay, multi-user setup
Now there is just one or two peeves. The most "annoying one" is that sometimes, tracks just don't play. Spotify for android, at least, has the option to "show non-playable songs" with which you obviously can hide them by not rocking the switch ;). We have found that sometimes a playlist just stops at a song or several songs. We first thought it was random, but we then found it seemed to be the same song eveytime the list was through and replayed again. Can you share the list, and what track to expect to fail? You could also enable debug logging for plugin.spotty, navigate to the item and start playback, then share the resulting server.log.zip with me. Spotty already should filter out non-playing content, if the information is shared by Spotify. The other is the thing I asked you through PM, an indication on which When did you ask so? I don't see any new PM? playlist is currently playing or a history of which playlist was playing to make it easier to change back to a nice playlist when one of the kids has changed it to their favourite kiddy's song using their iPeng or whatever. You can use the "What was that tune?" plugin to get a history of what you were playing. It's track based, not playlist. But it might be a start anyway. I keep on not updating Perl on the NAS for LMS to keep working. Does anyone have a fix for that? I guess you're a Synology Diskstation user? No real fix, only several workarounds: use Docker (if available on your NAS) or a Raspberry Pi to run LMS. Lot's of discussions around this topic can be found in these groups. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

I always tell my family "don't increase the volume yet, wait until the next track when it will sort itself out" but now starting from within a song, after shutting down whilst playing (which is in fact a seek of sorts I guess) is fixed immediately. Could there be a check to not include non-playable songs when starting a playlist, or a skip when timeout of more than 5 secs or something is reached? The other is the thing I asked you through PM, an indication on which playlist is currently playing or a history of which playlist was playing to make it easier to change back to a nice playlist when one of the kids has changed it to their favourite kiddy's song using their iPeng or whatever. Spotty was working again, I could access everything and 'play' the music, but still there was no sound, no audio output from the boxes. But the boxes are working fine otherwise, that is, they play sound when I am accessing my own music files or internet radio. I'll probably need more help when I have the Pi. :D Andy_NO's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=71553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114726 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

This should download the previous > binary from before the latest update directly from GitHub. I tried doing this but failed... I use PuTTY connect to Synology where LMS is running. Downloading from github works nice and smooth. Then I go: Code: admin@DiskStation:/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins$ chmod a+x ./spotty-hf admin@DiskStation:/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins$ ./spotty-hf -x -sh: ./spotty-hf: No such file or directory admin@DiskStation:/volume1/@appstore/SqueezeCenter/Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins$ ls SpottyARMLegacyBin spotty-hf I tried it several times, typing the code, copying the code from you. Always "No such file or directory". The only issue with Replaygain in 4.4 (apart from not > working with OGG) was that album gain wasn't used, so I was looking forward to getting this working in 4.5. See the post immediately before yours for a much less expensive solution. The minimum is Raspberry Pi (almost any version but good idea to get one of the more recent models with multiple cores (LMS only uses 1 but Spotty can use another one) - e.g. 3B+ or 4 (2GB or more) and Ethernet - a power supply and an appropriate SD card(*). Optional extra ... Case Even more optional ... keyboard, mouse You should be able to do that for half the price of that starter kit.
