It is one Spotify Premium Family account, within this account there are
3 users. I do not know how to register these users(?) with the client
ID. I have created one client ID and inserted this into Spotty settings
of LMS web page.

But did you register those additional accounts with your client ID?
Youll have to do that in order for this to work. 

The two different apps likely are mine and yours.

Good question, I am not sure. I have one family account which uses one
e-mail adress. The other users within that family account are not
registered with e-mail adresses. So, I have only one user registered
with that client ID.

Having a closer look at my Spotify account I see that there are two
registered apps:

#1 Spotty enabled Spotify for Squeezebox, Spotify implementation for the
Logitech Media Server, without mysqueezebox.com support 

#2 Squeezebox, Squeezebox Spotty integration 

Maybe those two interfere with each other?

Okay, I removed credentials, connected again, and it is working somehow.
I have family account connected three users but they are now all called
the same. Before they had different names. Maybe I should remove Spotify
Client ID?

this error message "Konnte keinen Access Token erhalten [Couldn't get
access token]".


But not even this event was in the log file. I'd suggest you remove your 
credentials from Spotty, enable debug logging, authenticate again. Try 
to do anything with Spotty, while the logging is still enabled. Then 
send me the latest copy of server.log.zip

Where I should see a Drop-down? Plugin is installed with the web
interface of LMS

What would running "spotty.exe -x" tell you? I think the installation is

ok, the daemon is working as expected. But the plugin part does for
whatever reason not find it.

new observation: I recently accessed Spotify via LMS web page, there I
could chose my account, playlists etc. but songs would not play. This
web page was still open and I clicked play on one song I chose earlier
and now it played on one of the Squeezeboxes I selected! Hitting back
button on my browser led me the access token warning and now I cannot
enter my account anymore. Does that make sense to you?

Shame it does not show the command line that it was trying to create.
Could this be the problem in Spotty that was reported recently about the
number of "temp" locations growing over time?
If yes - then maybe a complete restart of LMS (or reboot the system to
be sure it is really is stopped).

Playing any song still returns the same error message ("Fehler beim

I noticed today Spotty does'nt work anymore, in the web interface a have
this message: "There has been a problem running the Spotty helper
application. Please make sure you have the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime
(64-bit!) installed on your system.".  A software updated the visual C++
library to 2015-2019 a few days ago so I guess it's the culprit.  I
tried repairing, uninstalling and reinstalling both 32 and 64 bits
version without success, and also revert back to 2015 only.  If I run it
manually nothing really happen, cmd stay blank but I see the spotty
process in the task manager.  I'm running it on Windows Server 2019 (64
bits).

Any clue?

Yes, once you're in an artist's Spotty menu, the bottom item should be 
the "add to library" feature.

set to 49% this morning. Of course I wasn't logging Spotty.

listed, which are used by Spotty, so I cannot open them in my firewall.


Can you give us more info about what direction you're blocking/opening, 
where you're running LMS, where the players and Spotify clients live etc.?



I am using ufw and have already opened up

These, strictly speaking, have nothing to do with Spotty, but are LMS' 
ports.



4070/tcp
5353/udp


Spotty requires standard 80/443 (outgoing) in addition.


everything is working fine, except of local player broadcast. In my ufw
logs I found out, that my smartphone tries to connect to lms on the
following ports:
35623/tcp
42978/tcp
3/tcp


Is this the source port or the target port? Certainly not ports that 
Spotty would set up to listen on.

Yes, I actually do. I just removed them all and re-authorized them for
LMS. Everything is fine again.

I'm getting a "Failed to get access token - Please check

error message on one of my radios.

The logs are giving me this message when I try to access Spotty on that
specif player:

I've tried many things so far with no success, including

- Updated the Radio to the latest firmware (8.0.1-r16855)
- Removing and reinstalling Spotty from LMS
- Clearing the LMS cache
- Configuring my Spotify Dev Portal to get an ID and configure it in
  Spotty
- Checking the "Disable asynchronous token refresh call" option (which
  generated the following error message):

I enabled Autoplay in the setting of Spotty for my Touch. I used the app
to connect to the Touch and started a random song. It did not play other
songs when the song ended.
I also started a playlist, same: did not continue with similar songs
when the playlist ended.
I sometimes listen to Spotify on my smartphone: autoplay starts a radio
station based on the last song or artist when a playlist ends, strange
that this does not work on the Touch (not a show stopper, I can always
manually start a radio station based on the last song, but it would be
nice if that works automatically).

I must admit that this is probably poorly tested, as I hardly ever use 
Connect - and rely on DSTM for LMS mode.

Ok, I removed the helper and am now able to use my squeezebox touch as a
spotify connect player, did not know that it's normal that spotty
encodes the audio as pcm when volume adjustment is enabled.

But autoplay is not working (I can still start a daily mix or something
else and that works).

Some log file covering the event might be helpful. Eg. this used to be a 
50% issue, but recently became a 49% issue...

I installed spotty on my lms (running on a raspberry pi 4, picore).
I am able to use my squeezebox touch as a Spotify connect player, but
the audio is recorded as pcm and autoplay doesnt work.
I then installed spotty helper, but that broke spotty: my touch
doesnt show up as Spotify connect player in the Spotify app.

How can I get it to work? Do I need to install the helper plug-in or is
that not required?

Yes. It seems when you put the album inside a folder, Spotify dont put
the album inside the folder. It creates a playlist. 

Then Spotify do not let to create a folder and put some albums inside a
folder.

drop the album inside the folder in the upper left Spotify screen. I
show you an screenshot


Ok, but then you don't add the album to your collection, but you create 
a playlist with the album's tracks. That's not the same, and that's not 
how the integration works.

No. If you put an album with the green heart, Spotify puts the album
into your library

If you want to put the album inside a folder, yo pu have to drag and

folder. If the album is inside a folder theN it is converted to a list.
It seems then than LMS does not recognize the album as a list.


How do you put an album inside a folder?!? You simply click the heart 
icon. That's it. There's no place to put it, as far as I know.

And one more question Michael . For LMS to work with
Albums, the album must be in the main library. It cannot be inside a
folder. If the album is inside a folder theN it is converted to a list.
It seems then than LMS does not recognize the album as a list.

Am I right? 

I apologize for doing you so much questions. I am trying to know how
Spotty manage all this data.
