Odd. I had this problem a week or two ago, but then the plugin seemed to start working of its own accord anyway. Anyway. Has anyone got any idea if it possible (and if it was how hard it would be) to allow the Spotify app on LMS to be controlled by the real Spotify App? I have found being able to control the various instances of Spotify I have running throughout my house and office from one source very useful. The only source I am lacking this ability on is LMS and its this instance where I want it most. The obvious advantage is that this would put the full capability of Spotify within a player connected LMS. I see two futures for my SqueezeBoxes, now that Apple Music is coming and the Spotify Plugins are still so weak and will most probably stay so: a) somebody (Apple? ex-Logitech? one of us?) develops a good plugin for Apple Music on the SqueezeBox (with good I mean something equivalent to the iOS version) or b) my SqueezeBoxes land in my basement, just next to my Amigas's floppy disk drive and my wife's 1979 video game. A friend of mine bought a new Laptop today and we tried to install the Triode Pluggin. Running the self test the Help App passes but the Login to Spotify keeps failing. We used my Laptop for his Spotify Account and the Triode Pluggin and everything works fine. We noticed that the LMS that he downloaded from the Logitech Site was version 7.8 or so. Mine was 7.9 So, we found the Beta site for LMS versions and downloaded 7.9 on his Laptop. Seemed to make a difference as the 'Orange Spotify Icon appeared in LMS, but the Self Test still fails to Login to Spotify. I have a couple computers that have this problem now and I cannot find a solution. Need some help, thanks! The only difference I noted on this installation (rather than activating the plug in remotely on my WHS server) was that I needed to allow spotifyd.exe to run on my network ... I do not recall doing this on the WHS - could this be the problem? And if so, how dio I fix it? Another suggestion was that, if it worked on a new machine, I just clear cache and prefs on LMS - how do I do this? Thanks for all the help! Cannot get the Triode Spotify working on Vista System. Spotify works fine, but cannot Login to LMS or Spotify with Windows Vista. Have no problems with same LMS and Spotify Accounts on Wndows 7 or Windows 8.1. Only thing that seems different is Windows Vista. I'm seeing 'connection reset by local host'. I can browse tracks on the GUI as normal, but nothing plays. Is this a file types problem? Or something else? All ideas welcome. I have 5 squeezeboxes. When playing a second spotify stream on one of the devices either the first or the second stream only plays the first five seconds from each song. I would rather see that automatically the first stream stops when the second stream starts. I have been running Spotify Premium on my various SBs via the Triode plug in for about 3 years, and have got used to rock solid performance. However recently it has been pretty damn flaky, various errors come and go with no explanation. I have had bad player, bad gateway and various other messages appear then go again without me changing anything. Other times it just does not play and gives no error message, then an hour later it is playing fine again. I always get a list of albums for the Artist and artwork, so the connection is there, but nothing actually plays. Other internet radio options like BBC and Radio Paradise play fine, so I do not think it is my local connection. Current location is Norway, anyone else having problems? Some of the genres in Spotify Radio (in Triode's plugin, of course,) seems dead. No message that something's wrong, but nothing plays. I need help! After spending hours just trying to get Spotify to take my credit card, now I can't get this plugin to work. The helper app will not run. I don't know if it matters, but I had a Premium account years ago that was reverted to free, but when I rejoined today, I did it as a new account. I am on Windows Home Server 2011 LMS 7.9.0 - 1428327734 I installed the Visual C++ redistributable I have removed and reinstalled the plugin multiple times, including manually deleting the spotify.prefs I have manually added spotifyd.exe to the firewall exceptions. I have refreshed the Spotify settings page with my new username and password countless times. I have set the helper app logging to debug, but the log is always empty. I have restarted my server machine multiple times. I have been using SqueezePlay to play Spotify without problem for years, now I get Bad Player Error 5 The only change is that I am now in Norway, previously in UK, but cannot see that should make a difference, I have used Spotify a lot in Norway in the past and it works on my SB Radio no problem. Or you copy the file to the same location, where the plugin stores the file (please copy the original file before) and you try to use the file directly with LMS? Last update in getting spotify back to work without asking for relogin again and again Hi Triode, working with the spotify triode app on my squeezebox since a long time. It always worked but by now every two days it asks me to relogin to spotify. Following things I have performed based on forum information: - deinstalled the plugin - restarted lms - re-installed the plugin I had spotify working with Facebook login. I removed that and have now no single sign on anymore with Facebook. Hello I have exactly the same problem. It caused me to stop using Spotify Premium a few years ago. I tried again one week ago, and the problem ist still here (I live in Switzerland). Some details, when does it happen: - when playing a song from a chosen album, sometimes but not very often - when playing the TOP 100 in the plug-in, every 3th or 4th song. Interesting: when chosing these songs by author/album/song, they play OK on the SB! THE BIG PROBLEM IS THAT THE SB STOPS PLAYING WHEN THIS OCCURS. THIS MAKES THE \TOP 100\ FUNCTION USELESS AND SPOTIFY PREMIUM ITSELF REALLY BAD. IF IT CAN NOT BE SOLVED, AT LEAST THE SB SHOULD PLAY THE NEXT SONG IN THE LIST/ALBUM WHEN IT HAPPENS! Is there any hope that the plugin could be updated? Or do I miss a setting? Or is it possible to update the plugin by myself (no idea, how it is implemented... which language, how...) If this can not be solved I will probably end my subscription to Spotify (once again). The official Spotify plugin is no alternative for me (not enough functionality). Having increasing problems playing tracks on my SB Touch via 3rd party Spotify app. The tracks/playlists fro Spotify play absolutely fine on any device e.g. phone, computer, etc but on the Touch lots are coming up with not available in your region. I have messed about with changing region from UK to US in the LMS 3rd party Spotofy app settings but no change in behaviour. Any solution to this? Thanks! Thanks for the great plugin, I've been using it on my three devices (jogglers) for an age now! One small issue - does anyone else have to do this to refresh their playlists? eg. playlists are like this before changes inbox starred pl1 pl2 pl3 then I go and make some changes on mobile or desktop: inbox starred pl4 pl5 pl6 pl1 pl2 pl3 If I make any new playlists on another device, when I go back to the joggler, the list of playlists remains as i left it, but when I go in to the playlist, it's in the new order: inbox starred pl1 -pl4 content pl2 -pl5 content pl3 -pl6 content etc. I can manually refresh the order by navigating into a new playlist, then exiting back to the main spotify menu, then entering 'playlists' again. Not a huge issue but would be nice to enter a refreshed playlists list each time. Just thinking as well, might be worth me dropping a line to the developer of the joggler software (squeezeplay os - also great) as it could possibly be an issue there. LMS 7.7.3 on Windows 7. I have been using the triode plugin with problems until today. Suddenly triode is gone and the normal offical limited spotify app is there instead. I see that the the LMS web interface indicates a new version is available (2.3.8), and it appears to install on the Web plugins page. It allows me to apply the change, but when I reboot as requested the triode plugin is not installed. Still says new plugin available and allows me to check it off, apply, and reboot. Has anyone else run into this? Is there a cache somewhere I should wipe. Thanks in advance. Spotify's desktop app has a very nice feature: You can create a playlist, and Spotify will find new music that you might like, based on your playlist. Basically, you make a radio station based on your playlist. Then you can tell Spotify whether you like or don't like the new tracks it gives you, and it uses this information to improve its new music suggestions. Is there any way to use the plugin app to do this sort of thing? The SmartMix plugin tries to do this sort of things: you can use it to eg. start a mix based on whatever you've currently queued up in your current playlist. Hello, I'm using a home automation system called Domoticz. I already added a play/pause button and now I want a shortcut to certain spotify playlist. This way I want to be able to start playing certain music with one button. Of course I need a HTTP link to achieve this. QUESTIONB 1: HOW CAN I PLAY A SPOTIFY PLAYLIST WITH ONE HTTP STRING? Today I installed 7.8, without any patching, and it works out of the box - but the issue with the Spotify plug in is still there. I have a strange problem with the Spotify plugin on the new RPi2. The helper app doesn't start and there's no logging. When I change the log level, suddenly the helper app starts and works perfectly. When I reboot the RPi2 the exact same problem repeats itself. Changing the log level is the only way to get the helper app running. I know I've come across this problem before, but can't remember if I ever solved it. I know I've read the same multiple pages on this forum before about it! Having just reinstalled my whole system, I'm stuck again with the problem and want to try and tackle it. Things seem to work however: I can use spotify ok. What exactly does the helper app do therefore? Does the fact that I can use spotify indicate that the helper app is actually working properly- is it essential for operation or just 'help'? Using Squeezebox Classic (3) (have a spare one I haven't tried), and SoftSqueeze locally - tried with each one on in isolation. Running LMS 7.8.1 (was using 7.7.5 before) on Windows 7 64bit. Running on a home LAN/router, ethernet being used. Have AVG internet security, but have disabled the firewall. Using Triode's excellent Spotify app, the official one is disabled. When we hit the Self-Test button in Triode: Success for the 1st 4 (Helper app running, logged in, spotify metadata ok, streaming from spotify ok). PLAYER UNABLE TO CONNECT: Fail. Player did not connect to helper app - check your firewall allows the helper app to receive incoming connections from players on the helper app port defined above I have tried the app port on 9005 and 9006, and have tried the CLI interface port on 9090 and 9091 without any further success. I'm a longtime user of Spotify and this great plugin and it has worked flawless on my different devices. I can use the players interface to navigate Spotify and mostly I use it through Orangesqueeze on my phone. But I can't find a webinterface (servername:9000) to navigate it. Can anyone give me a hint of what I'm missing here? Hi Triode, Another big thank you for your Spotify plugin, has been a huge success with me and my family. I've just upgraded my music server from a RPi B to the new RPi 2. Everything has gone well apart from Spotify which I guess is due to the change of architecture from armv5 to 7. Testing the plugin works up to the point of streaming the music from Spotify. Is it possible to replace the armv5hf libspotify with the latest one from https://developer.spotify.com/technologies/libspotify/ manually or do you need to rebuild other components? Running squeezebox on my qnap TS-459, with lms7.8.1 Works with triode plugin for more then a year. Never an issue, until last 2 weeks. Buffering on squeezebox radio and squeezebox touch. No buffering on squeeze play, running on my mac via Wifi. Hello, I have some issue for making working the Spotify plugin on my DS214. Configuration: - DS214 (Arm Processor) - DSM 5.1 up to date - LMS 7.7.3-040 - Spotify plugin (2.3.9), the one proposed in the list of plugins - Spotify Premium Account I can connect to my Spotify account and see my playlists,... When I run the test, the Helper App Fails (Not running). When I try to open the files from the navigation panel, he is passing from one song to the other. What I have tested: - Restinstall and restart the NAS several times - Remove the standard Spotify Plugin - Change the output port (9005, 9006, 9007). I think that I tried also to open the corresponding port in the NAS configuration, to be confirmed Do you have any advice how to make it working, if it is possible on this device ? Normalisation works fine with my own music on arm. It's a pity that it doesn't work with spotify. So buying another NAS with a different cpu would be the only possible solution? :( Anyway, thank you very much for this nice plugin. Besides the problem with normalisation it works just fine for me. Hi - I'm having trouble with the plugin - but only on my Squeezebox Radio. When I try to listen, I am able to browse the Spotify menus without issue, but as soon as I try to play a song I get the message User has been banned on the Radio screen. Spotify is playing fine through the same LMS to my SB3 and Booms, so I don't think it's my Spotify account. The plugin self test (on LMS) runs OK until the 5th section, where it says player unable to connect. At the exact time that this part of the test fails, I also see the User has been banned message on the radio. The Radio is on my WiFi network - no firewalls, etc, in play. The Radio is otherwise working normally.
