Re: CSPosting to the correct list

2008-08-23 Thread Clayton Family
Mike has been very very generous in dealing with off topic posts. I
enjoy them in general, but when they erode the credibility of the list
in general, I object. Those who have just experienced just that very
thing by the inflammatory articles that Kurt posts, are giving us all a
very timely wake up call. In my humble opinion, these are very
different from many general off topic posts I have read, and I usually
do not read them. From the list rules, on the website:

Off Topic Posts

Posts that are clearly Off Topic are generally discouraged. Do not
start an obviously off topic thread. Do not reply to off topic posts
made by others. If a thread morphs off-topic, end it or take it off
list! There should not be lengthy threads on obviously off-topic
subjects. I've provided the Off Topic List for such subjects.

This does not apply to threads that result from someone's health
related questions as described in the Permitted Topics section above,
which may continue until basic information is given and important
resources identified.

If you are in doubt or have a special need you believe justifies an off
topic post, please ask me in private e-mail: mdev...@eskimo.com

simply Log out, reboot

Hi all,

This will be my last post before I un-subscribe.
It appears that a number of people are unaware of how and when to
use the off topic list, and also unaware of many general health
support groups available on the internet. As a result the silver
list, a pretty specific subject all in itself, is overloaded with
posts. The only thing missing now is posts on how to make a nice
cuppa and detailed knitting patterns.

On other topic specific lists, any off topic posts are considered spam.

Wishing everyone all the best and good health.

I wasn't offended at all by your posts about your computer problems, Dee. I simply skimmed through them and then hit the delete button as they weren't pertinent for me. I also wasn't offended by Kurt's posts either (although I think they're mostly paranoid -- sorry Kurt). I think it's normal for any group of people to drift into conversations other than on-topic, if said topic happens to be stagnant at the moment. Be pretty hard to legislate against human nature. Also, that's what God made the *delete* button for (uh-oh -- does that make this a religious post? LOL) As long as the off-topic posts are related to health issues (well, even the computer post was related to health -- your mental health Dee, right?)I don't think they're out of line as long as they don't go on forever. As far as new people are concerned, well if I was recommending this list to someone, I would probably forewarn them that off-topic stuff does come up once in awhile. Perhaps that could be mentioned in a *welcome letter* to new members, Mike, if such a thing exists. I think that only a complete skeptic (to CS), or an absolute newbie to the concept of internet chat groups (does such a person exist?) would blow off an internet group because of off-topic or odd posts. And I think it's sad that intelligent people who are members of this list would be willing to leave because the list isn't performing in the way that they'd like. Personally, I'm willing to ignore a lot of *crap* in order to read the occasional valuable nugget of information that I'd otherwisenot have access to. JMHO, of course.

Also a friends mother is diabetic.

You might tell her about Dr. Young's book =

The pH Miracle for Diabetes

The Revolution Diet Plan for Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetics
The author of the successful The pH Miracle offers a revolutionary new
diet and health program for the millions who suffer from either Type 1
or Type 2 diabetes. Diabetes has become an epidemic in the United
States with an estimated 17 million people diagnosed with the disease
and millions more at risk. With attention focused on blood sugar and
insulin levels, however, the underlying cause of all the
devastation-excess acidity of the body-has been overlooked. Dr. Robert
Young, a nationally known microbiologist and nutritionist changes all
that with this diet and lifestyle plan designed specifically for
people with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.
With advice on which foods to eat, which to avoid, and delicious
recipes, as well as guidance on managing stress and exercising safely,
Dr. Robert Young's program balances the body's pH, controlling acidity
and helping to reverse diabetes - or stop it before it starts.
This remarkable plan can reduce and sometimes eliminate the need for
insulin or oral medications. The pH Miracle for Diabetes empowers
readers to take control of their health, and feel better than they
ever thought possible.

The book should be at Barnes Nobles or Border's.
Or, google for on-line purchase.

That's Carole (with an e) and I manage my posts very well thank you.

I have asked questions before and got answers, but that is not my complaint.
Off topic is my complaint.

So, in order to stay on topic I will ask this in response to Mary's post about
flu shots.

I never get them any more myself. Have not had one now in over 10 years and I
haven't had the flu since then either. Seems before when I got the shot I
always got the flu. (Humm, see a pattern here?)

The thing that concerns me is my elderly mother. She is 85 and gets the shot
every year because that is what her doctor recommends to her. My question is
this; If she were to take CS on a daily basis, say 1 oz per day, could she
fight off the flu if she came into contact with it? And if not, say she got
the flu anyway, could she fight it off easier taking say 8 oz of CS per day
while feeling the symptoms? I don't even know if my mom would take my advice
about CS but it wouldn't hurt to try.

I take about an oz of CS per day myself, don't measure it just take a swig of
it and hold it in mymouth for 3-4 minutes after brushing/flossing my teeth in
the AM and PM. I assume I'm taking it adequately?

Re: CSCan we stay on topic here?

2008-08-23 Thread Peter Converse
Hi Mike and Fellow Silver List Members,

I joined this list solely for CS information and have considered bailing due to
the incredibly high percentage of off topic posts. Having said this, I must
admit that I have found some of these off topic posts to be valuable reading.
(One of life's little ironies).

I wholeheartedly welcome freedom of expression but believe that a greater
degree of control may be needed to ensure that those who are here for CS only
can navigate relatively unimpeded. While I appreciate many of Kurt's posts and
the posts of others who veer off track somewhat, what I find most annoying are
the bickering posts which remind me of the schoolyard. The only things
missing are the name calling and the hair pulling. Other than being a little
entertaining at times they are a huge waste of time, in my opinion, and occupy
way too much real estate on the Silver List's pages.

I think that we need a mechanism combined with bigger teeth to police the list
a lttle more. I am not being critical of Mike's moderation...far from it...he
is doing an amazing job! What about setting down a ground rule that off topic
posts MUST be posted in the off topic post section with the proviso that if
someone has something to share that they are hoping will benefit all
partipants who may be interested, that they supply a very brief introductory
post, of let's say, 100 characters or less indicating that they have posted
their gem on the off topic list. This would enable interested parties to look
into those topics with minimal disruption to CS discussion and ease the minds
of newcomers and veterans alike who may be turned off otherwise. This way we
can keep the main thing the main thing but not lose other potentially
important and valuable themes.

This list is an awesome source of badly-needed information with some great
minds onboard. It would be an awful shame to see it degrade or self-destruct.

I hope I have not offended anyone here. That was not my intention. Speaking up
honestly, I believe, in a respectful way and working together under Mike's
leadership should ensure that all input has been given a chance to come in so
decisions and constructive changes can be made.

Thanks, Mike, for a great list and thanks to all of you for your continued
contribtions.

Blessings,

Peter Converse

I'm seriously considering unsubscribing from this list due to paranoid
delusionary posts such as this one which have nothing to do with the topic of
colloidal silver. Its not even cleverly done by offering cs as an alternative
antibacterial spray. This post is about manipulating emotion. It states a bunch
of hypothesis as facts and offers nothing to back it up. This post is typical
of kmilkowski's posts. Paranoid conspiracy off topic posts which divide the

Carole,
I use CS in the same manner as you do.
I've found it to be the best way, at least for me.

If I waited for a need such as cold or flu, it would entail
suffering through a recovery time, whereas taking CS daily,
prophylactically, I never get infected to begin with.

I maintain that CS is a immune system booster, and a necessary
micronutrient. But that's just me.

I'm not having any trouble believing this. Most of it is already
happening. Do some research.. Conspiracy theory ot not, I think we need a
wake up call now and then..

Think about this: If the FDA has its way:

Â. All your food will be irradiated, pasteurized or killed
Â. All your children will be vaccinated
Â. All your medicine will be based on pharmaceuticals
Â. All your free speech about health will be suppressed
Â. All informative labeling on food and supplements will be outlawed
Â. Growing and selling non-irradiated garden vegetables will become a
 crime!

 (snip)

If you don't believe the FDA wants the public to be sick then just
look at the Oncologists, or anything to do with cancer treatment.

Already you can't sell any product other than a pharmaceutical that
claims to treat or prevent any disease.
This is by design. I believe the FDA wants the American public to be
sickened and diseased. Why else would they ban Free Speech about healing
foods like cherries, broccoli and garlic? Why would they outlaw the selling
of herbs and nutritional supplements that claim to treat and prevent disease?
The FDA wants you to be sick, enslaved and medicated, and irradiating the
food supply is the quickest way to accomplish that.

Kurt may be off topic but who can say that he is reporting inaccurately? We
need to wake up and speak up for ourselves and our children!

Why else would they ban Free Speech about healing foods
like cherries, broccoli and garlic? Why would they outlaw the selling of herbs
and nutritional supplements that claim to treat and prevent disease? The FDA
wants you to be sick, enslaved and medicated, and irradiating the food supply
is the quickest way to accomplish that.

Mike has stated repeatedly that he wishes the list to stay on the topic of CS. He doesn't mind if other topics are mentioned "briefly" when the list is quiet. But Kurt seems to have major grievances and I understand tht he is upset. However, Kurt seems to use the list to mainly post grievances and not about CS. Faith G.

CSCarole's mother and CS

2008-08-23 Thread Steven Foss
Hi Carole (with an E)

I use one to two Fluid Ounces of CS 10 ppm, daily and have (knock on wood)
been Flu free for 3 years.

I would say that CS would be less of a risk than the amount of mercury in one
Flu shot. One would have to consume 40 million ounces of Colloidal Silver at
10 ppm (using the Toxicological Registry's 1990 paper on Silver Safety) for a
extrapolated fatal dosage of Silver.

As you maybe aware of there is a ten year study of Flu shots in which a
relationship between 5 consecutive yearly Flu shots and a significant increase
in Alzheimer's disease. I am quoting someone else's blog on the subject, Hugh
Fudenberg, MD, an
immunogeneticist and biologist with nearly 850 papers published in peer
review journals, has reported that “if an individual had five
consecutive flu shots between 1970 and 1980 (the years studied),
his/her chances of getting Alzheimer's Disease is ten times higher than
if they had zero, one, or two shots.

I received my first and last Flu shot and was sick in the time it took to walk
home from the Doctors (a matter of 5 minutes.) When I phoned the Doctor's
office, the gate-keeper answering the phone curtly said, it's a
coincidence! and hung up the phone before I could say another word or even
request to speak to the Doctor. I could have a number of medical conditions
from severe allergic reaction, etc. In the years between 1969 and 1975 (and I
had a number of upper respiratory infections, ect) I only twice went to his
office that I did not receive an injection (including exams to participate in
sports and yearly physical exams). The in family joke was that his nursing
staff could pick out anyone's tush from a lineup. The typical greeting when
returning home from his office was, Right or Left side, and they didn't mean
arm!

The statistics for Flu shots aren't that impressive. The 2007-2008 flu season
was among the worst performance of the Flu vaccines. Based on adult deaths from
flu
and pneumonia, this season is the worst since 2003-2004 - another time
when the vaccine did not include the exact flu strain responsible for
most illnesses partly because the vaccine didn't work well against the viruses
that made most people sick.

The Flu Vaccines are best guesses as to which strains will be prevalent. Yes,
there are risks. I had an older female client still suffering 20 years later
from the Guillian Barre Syndrome after effects from the 1976 Swine Flu
vaccinations. Ironically, more people died of the Flu Shot side effects (25)
than the Flu that year. (There was no Swine Flu epidemic.)

The Cochrane Collaboration
produced a series of articles in 2005 reviewing the published
literature to determine the effectiveness of the flu shot. A total of 25
studies were
reviewed that included more than 60,000 study participants. The
Cochrane Group found that vaccination reduced risk of influenza by a
meager 6% and reduced the number of days missed from work by less than
one (0.16) day. Researchers concluded, “Universal immunization of
healthy adults was not supported by the results of this review.”

For
the elderly population, the prime target group for flu shots, The
Cochrane Group reviewed 64 studies and chided that, “The runaway 100%
effectiveness that's touted by proponents [of the flu shot] was nowhere
to be seen…What you see is that marketing rules the response to
influenza, and scientific evidence comes fourth or fifth.”

A new study, soon to be released in the prestigious medical journal, Vaccine,
resulted in the same conclusion. The study was undertaken to determine
whether the incidence of influenza had decreased in Ontario, Canada
following the introduction of the Universal Influenza Immunization
Campaign (UIIC) in 2000. All laboratory-confirmed influenza
cases—diagnosed between January 1990 and August 2005—were analyzed. It
was determined that, “…despite intensified vaccination distribution and
the increased financial resources used to promote vaccination,” the
incidence of influenza had not been decreased by the national flu shot
campaign.

I have used CS as an adjunct to my over all Health regimen for nearly 20 years.
For me it is almost a sure thing. I can't say the same for my relatives who
do receive Flu shots (its their choice). I have had respiratory challenges
since childhood, so I am more susceptible than the average person.

Other than using in excess or being allergic to Silver the chances are your Mom
would have little reason for concern in using CS, but I am not a Doctor, this
is only my opinion. However, I was involved in retail sale of CS for over 15
years, most of the products were 250ppm or higher CS. We never had a return for
adverse reaction, argyria, etc.

I would have see no problem with my 85 year old Mom using Colloidal Silver,
other than my Mom's heart Doctor has forbidden her to take any supplements of
any sort with the medicine she is on (Coumadin). He does recommend yearly Flu
Shots.

2008-08-23 Thread Norton, Steve
Here in Southern CA we have things in the soil that attack the roots of plants
and greatly reduce plant growth that are called nemetodes. I read somewhere
that CS will kill the nemetodes. Don't know myself, I nevere tried it. Wish I
had known this back when I was a gardener. I would have tried it.

CSEPA to Ban CS and CS generators as Pesticides.

2008-08-23 Thread Steven Foss
Dear Silver List,

I hope this post will be on topic.  I received a newsletter that states that
Colloidal Silver and CS Generators could be banned by March 2009 by the
Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA is being sued by an environmental
lobbyist  organization. I have checked out several websites and this is indeed
true, not a conspiracy theory.

The lawsuit mentions about every brand of CS of the market.

Of the reason for this, the EPA reclassified CS as a Pesticide using an obscure
50+year old law.

Best Regards,

Steve Foss
