I set the Cookie Acceptance Policy to Allow Cookies for the Originating Website Only and the Cookie Retention Policy to Accept Cookies Normally and now am able to get into my ebay account! Also I see the Tools menu Cookie Manager automatically reset to Use Default Cookie Permissions. Is this normal behaviour? Am I misunderstanding how the Tools menu cookie manager settings are supposed to work? What is going on?!?? It would sure be nice if the Tools menu cookie manager would work the way it appears to be meant to work, it's such a pain to have to dig into that preferences panel every time I want to log in to a site! ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Sometimes a website at address www.foo.com will file cookies under derived addresses like bar.foo.com. SM considers them as different servers. Try this: set Retention Policy to Ask for each cookie. Then the dialog will let you see that address. If you don't do that you won't be able to set policy for such addresses, because you won't land on a page with that address unless the cookie is set up! Ebay (ab)uses such multiple addresses. Look at this excerpt from my hostperm.1 file: hostcookie 8 myworld.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 jeux-video.listings.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 signin.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 cgi6.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 contact.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 cgi3.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 informatique-pda.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 listings.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 sofe.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 jeux-video.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 frame.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 my.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 rover.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 secureportal.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 scgi.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 feedback.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 www.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 payments.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 shiptrack.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 search.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 pages.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 maison-jardin.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 promo.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 jeux-video.search.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 cgi.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 hub.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 offer.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 catalog.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 shop.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 stores.ebay.fr hostcookie 2 search.avis-membres.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 cgi4.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 bmsgs.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 search-desc.ebay.fr hostcookie 8 cgi1.ebay.fr What you can do is edit your hostperm.1, remove all lines with ???.ebay.[com/co.uk/fr/whatyoulike], and put a single line like hostcookie 8 ebay.[com/etc.] (These spaces are single tabs in fact.) Do this while SM is not running. This setting will apply to all derived addresses. 8 is for allowing session cookies, 1 for mere allowing, 2 for blocking. Hope this helps. -- LL ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

Re: Java JVM Ver6 Build 14 not run or install on SeaMonkey
One should also note that the Sun Java installer error is seen (at least until Sun staffers fix it and re-issue a 100% working installer) in XP SP1, SP2 level machines more than seen somewhat more rarely in SP3 level XP machines, and is very rarely seen in Vista machines. Information and discussions with both MS insiders and InstallShield staffers so far brings more finger pointing than anything else, but again, IF you or other users see the problem, it appears to have an easy workaround: http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10747256#10747256 The importance of mentioning all this in many Forums, SeaMonkey included, is that it affects most all updating Java users, or systems or applications that depend on Java for certain proper operations or browser or Email display, etc, etc. Joe - Original Message --- From: James res07...@gte.net To: support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org Subject: Re: Java JVM Ver6 Build 14 not run or install on SeaMonkey FYI: . . wrap issue when replying
SM 1.1.17, Win XP Pro SP3 I received several messages from a particular sender. When viewed in the in-box screen, the sender's text wrapped to form nice paragraphs. View message reveals that the original message is in plain text and not html. But when I selected reply and opened the compose window, the original text was quoted as one line of text a mile (1.6 kilometers) long! Is there some setting to force quoted text (or for that matter composed text) to wrap at 60 (72) characters? ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey

The setting for line length is at Edit | Mail Newsgroups | Composition: Wrap plain text messages at nn characters. But if the source is sloppy, the results may also be sloppy. For example, if paragraphs are not separated by an extra return (a blank line), SeaMonkey (like Mozilla before it) will wrap them together as one paragraph. Also, if the quote marks in the original are wrong, SeaMonkey (like Mozilla before it) doesn't think to correct them. Thus: This is a quoted reply that is mismarked. will be treated as two separate authors. Often when you have a single long line with one quote mark, SeaMonkey (like Mozilla before it) will rewrap with one quote mark on the first line and leave the other lines unmarked. You can manually enter the quote marks and rewrap again, but it's an extra step. And finally, some HTML mails will be treated as if they had returns after every line, so rewrapping will introduce extra blank lines within paragraphs: This is an example of what I'm talking about. -- War doesn't determine who's right, just who's left. -- Paul B. slow message loading in NGs at Email
I've asked this before, but in 1.1.17 it seems to have gotten worse. Message loading in the newsgroups take 2 to 2.5 times longer to load than Thunderbird. Anyone else have this happening? Is there some setting I may have screwed up with? I *REALLY* love Seamonkey's browser (light as a feather and fast as lightening) but the Email/NG client seems to be heavy as an Ox :/ Any help with this greatly appreciated :) Thanks in advance :) ___ support-seamonkey mailing list support-seamonkey@lists.mozilla.org https://lists.mozilla.org/listinfo/support-seamonkey
