Firstly, is there no way do have this happen automatically after 5 days. Secondly, I have noticed that when I run this filter manually it works just fine if I am in the Bat folder at the time, but if I am in a different folder then it will act on that folder and transfer my old messages from that folder instead of the bat folder. Is this a bug? I am writing this to the beta group as I am using Windows 98 and up until now I have not been able to create any Read filters until Beta 41 was released. -- Best regards, Stuart mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v2.03.47 On Windows 98 4.10 Build # Current beta is 2.03 Beta/47 | Using TBBETA information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Change you sort order by clicking on a header. Now leave the folder and then come back again. The folder will now be using the change you made, not the original sort order. Hello Mary, Tuesday, October 19, 2004, 8:53:55 AM, you wrote: MB In TB!'s main window click on View/Global View Mode (scroll way MB down)/No View Mode. MB Then, again in the TB! main window, click on View/Sort-by , and change MB your Sort-by choice to a different one. MB Go to another folder. Then come back to the previous folder. The MB change you set will not have been retained. The folder will have MB reverted to the one before you made the change. I see now what you mean. And actually what you are seeing here is what I would like to see when you click on on a header to change the sort order. See bug report: https://www.ritlabs.com/bt/view.php?id=3949. Maybe our views of how Viewmodes work differ. Here is my take on it. Others can correct me where I am wrong. There are two types of viewmodes, global and on a per folder basis. Global viewmodes affect all accounts and all folders. So for example, if I have 4 Global viewmodes as follows: 1) No Viewmode 2) Generic 3) By Date 4) By Sender If I select one of the bottom three, then all of my folders will be sorted by the appropriate definition in that viewmode. If I on the other hand select the first one No Viewmode, then I will be able to select a different viewmode for each folder. (As an aside here: I believe that this is really the only selection necessary as I see no real reason for Global Viewmodes. This is just me though and others may have a good use for them.) Now, once you select No Viewmodes under the Global Option, any folder that is not using By Date or By Sender will automatically use the Generic Viewmode. In your explanation above I believe this is what you are describing. You are actually changing the Viewmode, albeit temporarily, of the particular viewmode of the folder you are currently viewing. If you really want a permanent change to that viewmode then you can use Right click on the header bar and select manage viewmodes. Having said all this I think that viewmodes need to be streamlined so they are easier to understand. When you click on the view menu you should get an option for Manage Viewmodes and do away with all those choices for sort etc. seeing as they only work temporarily. I may have this all wrong but I think this is the way it works and think it needs some changes. Any comments would be welcomed. -- Stuartmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.1.33 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current beta is 3.0.2.1 Beta/1 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Odd filter and Unread folder problem
Hello tbbeta, I have noticed that I am having a problem in this version with messages arriving in my inbox and then not all being filtered to the proper folders. My situation is: Password protected account, not opened. Virtual folder that looks at this account for Unread messages. Mail is checked on startup and every five minutes. Most of the messages are to these lists. They are then filtered into a Bat folder. As the messages are being downloaded the Unread folder flashes up 1 Unread then back to 0 presumably as they are filtered into the Bat folder. Once all the messages are downloaded I noticed that there were Unread messages still showing in the Virtual folder, (which I could read)even though it is a password protected account. Upon opening the account I see that there are some messages that should have been filtered into the Bat folder still sitting in my Inbox. (Manual re-filtering will filter them properly). So there are two problems here. 1)I am able to read Unread messages in a Virtual folder that points to a password protected account. 2) All the messages are not being filtered. Protected files Wish
Hello tbbeta, I was just reading some discussion on protection of messages. I think this is a very valuable asset that The Bat! provides, but there is one thing I would like to be able to do. Maybe others have already got a good solution for this. If so maybe they could share. When I get a message in my Inbox that I think is worth protecting I have to move it to the appropriate folder and then select protect. This is because you can't move a protected message, which is good. The problem being that once moved you then have to find the message in the new folder in order to protect it. This can be difficult depending on how your folders are organized and when the file message was sent. Would a possible solution be to have a key/mouse combination that when a message is dragged from one folder to another, (ie. Ctrl/drag), it is parked automatically in the destination folder. -- Best regards, Stuart mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.1.33 On Windows 98 4.10 Build # Current beta is 3.0.2.5 Rush | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

A key combination that asks for the RTT folder and then moves and protect it, seems to be the right thing RTT here. Not sure I understand this. :( Do you mean that the developers would create such an option? RTT Well parking would be nice but only for finding the message, or? Parking from my perspective is not used for finding messages, although it does come in handy for that purpose as well. I mainly use it for messages that contain info I may have to refer to in the future and do not want deleted inadvertently. For example, my registration number for The Bat! I do not have enough room to archive all the messages we receive in tbbeta (does anyone) so I regularly delete old messages. By parking my registration info it does not get deleted by accident. -- Best regards, Stuartmailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.1.33 On Windows 98 4.10 Build # Current beta is 3.0.2.5 Rush | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/

Once the message is moved to the common folder it no longer knows which account it came from. If you use a folder under each account it will know where to delete the original from. Everything sent to Junk
Hello tbbeta, I downloaded my mail this AM and all my mail in my main account was sent to the Junk folder. On closer inspection the mail that was downloaded included all my old mail that was left on the server. Now checking with Mail Dispatcher I see that all the messages that were left on the server had now been deleted. I don't see any reason for this in my Bayesit log, nor in the log for the account. Any ideas. -- Best regards, Stuart mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Using The Bat! v3.0.2.8 on Windows 98 4.10 Build A Current beta is 3.0.2.10 | 'Using TBBETA' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html IMPORTANT: To register as a Beta tester, use this link first - http://www.ritlabs.com/en/partners/testers/
