Re: [vchkpw] read my mail with mozilla
2. Mozilla doesn't store mail in a Maildir format, so it would not be able to deliver to that directory. but does it store mail in mbox? 'case that's what he wrote (no trailing /) yes that is the question i just want my mails in /var/vpopmail/domains/linux-pour-lesnuls.com/deny/Maildir to read in a graphics client all the solutions are welcome thanks
Re: [vchkpw] passwd to vpasswd
Hi Martin, The answer is in the vpopmail Administration Guide (http://www.inter7.com/vpopmail/vpopmail.html): To convert all users (except root and system accounts) into a mysql domain run the following command: vconvert -e -s domain. This reads all /etc/passwd accounts and creates mysql entries using their passwords. The passwords can be in either /etc/passwd or /etc/shadow. These passwords should work under vchkpw authentication program. PS. It's not a good idea to post messages in maillists with Disposition-Notification-To turned on HTH, Stratsimir Martin Bossev wrote: Hello, I looked thru the mail list archive and didnt find anything So Im writeing here.. Hello Stratsimir, Thanks for the help. It worked that way. I knew it is something simple, just didn't had time to search.. And for the Disposition-Notification-To - i use it in my work, and forget to stop it before posting my email. Won't happen again ;) Thanks: Martin -Original Message- From: Stratsimir Kolchevski [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 3:21 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [vchkpw] passwd to vpasswd Hi Martin, The answer is in the vpopmail Administration Guide (http://www.inter7.com/vpopmail/vpopmail.html): To convert all users (except root and system accounts) into a mysql domain run the following command: vconvert -e -s domain. I am not aware of all the available graphical mail clients out there, but I know that mutt (http://www.mutt.org/) can recognize Maildir and mbox (and a few others). There are probably many others, some googling would no doubt show. if there's one , is there any configuration telling vpopmail to put messages from/var/vpopmail/domains/linux-pour-lesnuls.com/deny/Maildir in this client ? vpopmail does not currently support putting mail in a different location. But I do remember seeing a patch posted on this list that allowed storing the mail in user's home directories -- if I recall correctly. Or you could setup a .qmail file in the user's vpopmail directory (eg, /var/vpopmail/domains/linux-pour-lesnuls.com/deny/) to put the mail elsewhere - so that would be done on a per-user basis. I think your best bet would be to just IMAP or POP the messages, even if only locally. That way you can use Mozilla (or any other mail client) to read the mail. (of course, that requires you to setup an IMAP and/or POP server) Jeff -- /\ /\ ......[EMAIL PROTECTED] / \/ \ a t r i x . . . . . . . [vchkpw] libvpopmail + squirrelmail/courier-imap
Hello List, I've been following Michael Bowe's crib sheet on how to set up qmail+vpopmail+mysql+loads+loadsmore I'm experiencing a problem with squirrelmail+courier-imap which the imap list suggested was down to libvpopmail.. The Problem: Squirrelmail works fine as long as I'm the only one using it. When more than one connection is made, the Squirrelmail drops everyone back to the login prompt and no valid user-passwd combinations work. Restarting courier-imap fixes this temporarily. The courier-imap list said this was down to libvpopmail and that a very latest version of this should cure it. Im running vpopmail 5.2.1 . Does the vpopmail list agree that this is the case, and how do I repair it if you do. Do I need to re-install the whole vpopmail, ( I was looking at 5.3.28) or can I just get this libvpopmail on its own? I can't see that it should be this because Im using the same version as Michael Bowe was in his write-up. Great write-up btw Michael. Mine are set to 40 and 40, as per Michaels notes.. will try 512 At 09:00 AM 11/10/2003, jon kutassy wrote: The Problem: Squirrelmail works fine as long as I'm the only one using it. No, 512 doesnt make any difference, as soon as I open another browser and sign into a different account, the first one fails to the login screen. - Original Message - From: jon kutassy [EMAIL PROTECTED] Hello List, I've been following Michael Bowe's crib sheet on how to set up qmail+vpopmail+mysql+loads+loadsmore :-) Im running vpopmail 5.2.1 . You should not use vpopmail-5.2.1, it contains some nasty bugs that can cause unreliable operation of courier-imap (especially if you compiled courier with --with-authdaemon) You could either go for vpopmail-5.2.2, or vpopmail-5.3.28 Once you have upgraded your vpopmail, you will also need to go and rebuild your other add-on apps like qmailadmin and courier-imap, so that they can link against the updated vpopmail code. [vchkpw] compilation error with authlib
Hi! Running a server with perfectly working qmail, vpopmail (5.3.25), qmailadmin etc. on FreeBDS 4.8. Now I tried to install sqwebmail. As the sqwebmail-mailinglist is ignoring vpopmail-related stuff, I'm writing to you because I'm trying to use vchkpw autentication. As 3.6.1 didn't work I also compiled 3.5.3, but had no sucess, too. The error occured with different parameters for ./configure. Some of them are: ./configure --with-authvchkpw --without-authdaemon --without-authpam --without-authuseradb --without-authpwd --without-authshadow --enable-softtimeout=600 --enable-autopurge=7 --with-defaultlang=de --enable-cgibindir=/ad2/service/web/cgi-bin --enable-imagedir=/ad2/service/web/sqwebmail --enable-webpass=vpopmail OR ./configure --enable-softtimeout=600 --enable-autopurge=7 --with-defaultlang=de --enable-cgibindir=/ad2/web/service/cgi-bin --enable-imagedir=/ad2/web/service/sqwebmail But every time I tried some configuration the following error occured: Making all in authlib make: don't know how to make all. Stop *** Error code 1 There unfortunately are no additional information about the reason of this failure or any other usefull hints. I searched for some time over google or in your mailinglist, also in google groups but could not find anything helpfull. So it would be very kind if you could help me. Thanks for your help! Re: [vchkpw] compilation error with authlib
Perhaps take a look in your ~vpopmail/etc/ dir and see if the files inc_deps and lib_deps exist I remember there was some problems with these files not being installed correctly at around the version of vpopmail that you quote. If they are missing, you could have problems when compiling other add-on apps that use the vpopmail code. [vchkpw] Question about mailbox formats...
HI all, quick question, i've created some email accounts under a domain using qmailadmin, and i'm not going to be changing mailbox formats cause i'm a retard and forgot to install pop service using qmail-pop3d, i must change it to maildir...now do i have to delete those accounts and remake them or will the new new email just get put into maildir? and everything will work great ( i hope ) Cheers, Gary
[vchkpw] Delete Mail-- Serious Issue!
Hi Folks, So I've been using 5.3.20 vpopmail and a more recent version of qmail admin. A client has set their mail to delete in qmailadmin, and it does the following in the log file: starting delivery 561960: msg 173243 to local [EMAIL PROTECTED] delivery 561960: deferral: Unable_to_run_/bin/sh:_ status: local 1/15 remote 0/25 Why is it trying to run the shell? Their .qmail file says the following: | /var/vpopmail/bin/vdelivermail '' delete Which seems correct, especially considering qmailadmin put it there. Any ideas as to why this is happening? As it goes through the queue again and again it creates clogs. Thanks in advance, -Mike _ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
