Hi there,
I haven't saw my email posted and haven't received any feedback, so
I am asking again.
I'm trying to export some data from a table field to an word

type bmc remedy Microsoft word automation ole without quotes in Google and
the first item will be something that might help you. I know a fellow on here,
at one time, worked on a project of this nature and shared. It was probably for
v6.3 but might be useful.

I did some searching and it appears it is no longer available for download from
Oracle. My best guess would be a Google search or to contact your Oracle
salesperson. Is there any reason you have to stay on ARS 5.1.2?

List,
We are building task templates and variables for task templates that are going
to be in a change template. I have create variables and assigned them into a
task for input and output and they are being passed from one task to task so
all is good there. The issue I am having is when I try
Has anyone tried to access the mid-tier from a regular Blackberry browser
lately?
I found a few posts regarding this, but I didn't see anything recent.

I found out that the Midtier 7.5.0 works just fine on my BB 8310 Curve
(OS4.5). Not sure about MT7.1.0 but I know MT 7.0.1 is not accessible
on the same BB browser.

Thanks for the info. I am currently on 7.1, but that could be a good reason to
upgrade.

After thinking about this some more, I have one question. What if the new box
has a different name?
When we move to the new production box, this will likely not be an issue
because we will keep the same name. But while we are testing our process with 2
development boxes they will have to have
I would be interested in knowing if anyone out there has tried this on the 7.1

When you say it works just fine do you mean that you can see tickets, modify
them etc
We are looking at a Aeroprise implementation but we are also in the process of
starting to upgrade to 7.5

Hello Listers,
Can you share your Remedy 7.x experience on AIX platform? with or without ITSM
7 suite. How is the performance in general? What AIX OS version, RAM, CPU
power you have on your AIX platform? We would like to know if our server is
setup with appropriate resources by comparison.
Migrator is going to be a haphazard approach as you will run into
issues if there are conflicts on things like the user/group forms,
some objects doesn't migrate (core fields on display only forms), plus
it will take a long time to move things in that way.
The best approach, in my experiences,

3. Restart the Remedy server processes.
Restarting the processes will force the server to read the license files
again and re-build that .multilicense file.
If that doesn't work... you will probably need to work with BMC
support/sales to fix your license keys.
I hope this helps
Hi Fred,
It is all about timing... I am planning to move to 7.5 just as soon as
my provisioning group can get my new server in place. But we have some
Sybase licensing issues that have necessitated a migration away from
Sybase ASAP. So I am trying to make Oracle work with my existing
You should not have an issue using the OCI (part of the Oracle api
that Remedy uses) against a 9, 10, or 11 server. Again, it's
unsupported, but technically I do not see a reason it would not work.

I believe we ran the 5.x ARS against the Oracle 10 for a while. I know I've
used the 8i client against a 10g server. If I remember correctly we only had
to tell our DBA to make sure to set up the instance we connect to with a SID
instead of the newer Service Name.
Run your ARS telling it
I'm testing a BB Curve 8350i against a 7.1 mid-tier and so far I have been
unable to get it let me login.
I get the main login screen then I get a warning about a java pop-up, when it
tell it to allow it, the browser closes.
Is this similar to what you experienced on 7.0 mid-tier?
Anyone
Thanks Fred and Axton... this is very encouraging.

I just tried with our 7.5 MidTier against a 7.1 server using the default BB
browser. I got the same 2 error messages. I was able to login and the Home

Anyone use this combo? I have never used the assignment engine before
and the documentation is not very detailed. I followed all the steps and
created a ticket but nothing happens? Anyone have any pointers?

Assignment engine replaced the SHR:Assignment form and workflow.
Assignment Engines workflow uses the Company on the ITSM 7 Incident
form as the initial field it qualifies and since HD 5.6 does not have
this concept you would need to review all of the assignment engine

Hello list,
I hope this is a simple question, but somehow, it's giving me a heartache. I
was asked since we don't use the Demo account for anything, could we delete
the Demo account? My first response was just to leave it, however, security

We just tried on a Storm 9530 and a Curve 9800 against ARS 7.5 / MT 7.5. We
can get past the pop up blocker if we use a direct link with ARS credentials
in the URL. All of the forms that we tried would load just a blank white
screen. This is closer then in the past where we would get a page is
I was finally able to get it to attempt to login, but I received similar

java script and I changed my default browser emulation to Internet Explorer. If
this actually works correctly on 7.5 mid-tier, that would be
Near as I can tell, there's nothing special about the Demo account, and I agree
that it should probably be deleted so long as you have other administrative
accounts. I've heard of 3rd party installers assuming the account exists and
that the password is blank, but that someone would package
Yeah in my environment, I have an admin account for myself and also a user
account like any other support person. I figured that for day to day, I can use
the support account so if any issues come up, I might see them before an end

Very old versions of some products required the Demo account during
installation (Palm Link, Approval Server, others?) but I do not know
of anything that works that way any more. This was in the 4.x years
that this was the case.
There are other accounts in the system that have default usernames,
