You should now be on an overgrown path, heading north.if you take the right turn at the end, and follow the path northward, than you will eventually come to a lake, as long as you stay on the path and avoid the exits (their all bandit cashes and scenic landscape anyway).The outpost is directly to the left from where you enter the lake.Spoilers!End

add-ons for audiogames, your oppinions.

Hi all,As you may know we are currently back in active development, but i want to gather some oppinions for in the future when we release new audiogames or updated ones.We want to "introduce" add-ons. I have written the introduce word between quotes, cause i don't know if this has been done before. I thought zero sight had an add-on and smugglers 3 right?But what would you say when version 1.0 of our games will be free of charge? and that additional add-ons are purchasable? wich ad for example extra quests in your_adventure, or special criminal options in fantasy-thievery? This are kind of VIP options, of course updates from version 1.0 are free of charge as well, but additional add-ons won't be.I am not sure yet on how PayPal can eventually process the payments by itself and send out or present the downloadlinks by itself.But probably an interesting concept to consider for us when the community likes this idea Gotta run right now, servers on fire, and my boss running after me to get me my work done Greetz mike

Actually Mike it's been done several times. Smugglers 3 as you said, but also in smugglers 5 invasion with all the dlc downloadable content which were separate purchases. Then Zero site, and of course Esp pinball party pack vol 1 (shame there weren't any further volumes, I'd have bought them). other games do purchasable content as a matter of course, the Blindfold games and huboodle for instance. Personally I always think it's a cool idea, especially with games that can have some degree of expansion like rpgs, it is a way to extent the initial game and add new stuff without going for a full sequel. Imagine if Manamon had  expansion where you could take your initial character to another part of the world with more quests and different battles and items, and of course games like racing games with dvarious tracks or whatever are perfect for this type of thing. personally I'm all in favour, it's a way for developers to get more mileage without having to write so much new code from scratch, and a way for players to see an already beloved game expand. The only thing I will say, is obviously addons need to be worth it. It's happened a little too often (especially in online games), where you find that some sort of addon or dungeon costs a lot of money to access and then is finished by your character in a day,  (sryth I'm looking at you), or where one purchiceable item adds one cool game mechanic which doesn't ultimately change the game (hello kingdom of loathing). So while I'm in favour of the idea, the pricing, the amount of content available and what the addon actually does needs to be carefully worked out (I'm not always convinced here by some of the blindfold games pricing I'll admit).Still, as a basic concept, I'd say go for it.

Hi,@darkwhoopsie,certainly missed a lot thanks for your reply. When we are talking about current add-on ideas for your_adventure for example, we were thinking of creating a quest add-on. There will be 35 quests available in the free game, but when you purchase the quests add-on there will be another 45 to complete. but don't worrie, you won't see the npc's wich give these quests when you don't have the add-on. And various other add-ons, like a pirate party pack, wich (we hope) will include ships, a see map, probably sea battles, and maybe fleets and fleetmanagement. but we are still working out that idea, but the quest add-on is almost certain.The above mentioned numbers is as example, could be more or less For fantasy_thievery we aren't not sure yet on wich add-ons to create.Greetz mike

Introduction Here is a list of audiogames I have discovered on the Amazon Alexa platform which can be enabled using the "skills" tab. Most are free as are all Alexa skills, though a couple link to services that create accounts and thus have a charge. Additions, thoughts or updates to the list are always welcome, so please use This thread[/ for comments or suggestions Note however that due to Amazon's policy,  this list contains only skills I could access from the United Kingdom version of the Alexa app, since unfortunately not all developers make their skills available in all countries, even when the language is the same (dam them!).to qualify as an audiogame an ap must: 1: Be completely accessible via audio alone such that a blind and sighted player could play equally. Thus quizzes  with the odd visual question in the ap would not count. 2: Be an actual game with a goal and some way for the player to interact  to achieve that goal. Unfortunately many of the skills in the "game's section, though often doing fun things like dispensing random facts about dragons or werewolves are not games a player can interact with. For a none official list of other things I've tried see this topic of random Alexa stuff Also note that these short descriptions contain actual reviews, ie, they represent my opinions, both positive and negative. The list will be updated from time to time as I try more skills so check back. This does not however mean that Amazon skills will not get db pages, just that since many are comparatively short games, this is a quick and easy way to keep people informed of what is out there, as well as perhaps alert developers of these skills to the fact that the audiogaming community exists.Now on with the list:Six swordsAn rpg with a lot of exploring. Take control of a group of mercenaries and slay your way around a vast map with turn based combat, towns to visit, dank underground caves, temples to weird gods. With frequent updates including bug fixing, the chance to build castles,  and lots of exploring this is definitely one for rpg fans, albeit don't expect progress to be too quick. thanks to bookrage for providing some extra info about this one.Beat the introSupposedly a music game where you hear the intros of songs and have to identify, however when we ran it we got a major advertising their version two and couldn't actually play the game itself which was annoying, I suspect there are new puzzles each day, but not getting the old ones and just being told how awesome their next version is is not exactly a way to recommend a game to new players. Also, the game works  on recorded audio from some dj or other and this is one instance where having  Alexa voice the game would've been way less irritating D.Basic adventure The title isn't kidding. A really short Cyoa style game where you rescue a princess. The fact that  I not only completed the game on my first attempt and! that the hole thing took me less than ten minutes likely tells you how much content this has.Battlecry Supposedly a skill where you get to battle people across the net in  random duels. One problem, to battle anyone you need their code. Since there are neither ai opponents, nor any way of searching for another player's code, nor (from what Google can tell me), a registered list of codes or similar there is literally no way to battle anybody! So , is it a good game? I honestly don't know, but my code is blue panther twelve and anyone is free to give me a try and let me know, hay, let me know your code too .Bbc the inspection chamber  This one is very cool! A random scifi comic game in which you are a life form in an inspection chamber being looked over by two scientists who just want to get out of the office and go home, and their database, the actually rather disturbing computer "dave" Lots of recorded audio and sfx, although this isn't quite an interactive audio drama. Highly recommended if your  strange and quirky things, I can see why it's described as a nod to Douglas Adams.Button button  Supposedly a cooperative clicker game in which people from all around the world click to press a button multiple times, however it is completely broken  told me it couldn't connect to database everytime I tried it.Bio Acoustics 101  If it weren't midnight I'd go and get my lady to show her this since it's perfect for animal lovers. Try and guess ten animal sounds whichgo from standard to unusual, you can also have the sounds demoed for you before you play to give you a head start. My only two issues are firstly voice recognition is ropy if you choose an animal not in the list, eg, it didn't know the difference between a moose and a goose (which is sort of amusing), and secondly being as the animal sounds come from public domain sites the quality isn't always great, the cobra was barely audible. @Defender, It's definitely on the list to have a much more dynamic sound system, the issue I have with the higher quality sound is that it's a battle between two different groups, the people who want better sound, and the people who want smaller file space, the problem was that the filesize became a little bit of an issue for me, I tried to keep a hq and lq sound version of my old game the wastes going and it became a big hassle, but I will work something out at some point!Will check out the lute sounds though, I recorded myself playing guitar so I can re-record them at any point, will note it down and check them out!@Dark, champions definitely need more functions and uses, should be fun!@Niklas, when a new sound system is implemented sound effects are a must, for menu options, battle sounds, encounters, taverns, exploration, the arena, Baiaa, the different regions and so on.@Dark I'll investigate that bug! cheers for telling me, it doesn't sound minor to me if you had to quit!@Defender, you've got it, I'll add another load of bard origin stories, as for more celebration options, what do you mean? like more things to select when you're creating your own celebration, I would love to hear your ideasAs for the slavery thing, this is a very very valid point! I will look into this!And you're right, the goblin minor tribes at the moment are just a placeholder though, I have some huge plans for them in the future!I will look into the bugs you've raised but the evil policy one, holy crap, can't believe I didn't see that one!I will investigate bandit gang bug and the other stuff, thanks for letting me know about this stuff!As always thank you for all the comments and suggestions guys, very helpful, at this point every time I log into the audiogames forums it feels like a warsim development conference!

I love the plans with the Sound System. I can imagine a battle for example between beasts could be epic. I am excited if it Comes. Cool plans though, hope it doesn't take to Long, but take your time. BTW: I think it is unavoidable that the game size gets bigger at some Point. I mean it will and should grow in Terms of Content, but the more you'll put in, the bigger it gets.

I have not been able to use Jaws with AHC. Jaws will not release keystrokes even when it is set to sleep. So I just leave AHC set to the Sapi option.

I have JAWS set up to go into sleep or suspend mode while running AHC. Though I haven't gotten as deep into the game as I'd like, it does seem to work.@TargorWas that negative and uninformative poke at JAWS really necessary?With all the acceptance and accommodation problems the visually impaired community has with main stream society, it always bothers me to see members of our own community spreading a message of hate towards a screen reader for no better reason than they don't use it.I use JAWS, not Windows Eyes, System Access, or NVDA, and you don't see me trashing any of those screen readers.If you can't say anything nice or constructive, try not saying anything at all instead of being a troll.

For those of you wanting to play AHC with JAWS, Loxias has been kind enough to provide a JAWS configuration file and instructions for how to set it up so that JAWS works with AHC on your machine. This is something that has to be done by the end-user meaning we can't do it for you through AHC but there are plenty of people using these instructions to happily play AHC with JAWS. Hold up guys, there is some misinformation going on about Actually Love. I'll clarify after a spoiler tag below, but first a response to Sir Badger about key binding:I'm definitely not saying it's not possible. Nor am I saying it's not going to happen. All I was saying is that since basically all of the key mapping logic is custom coded (since the whole engine is) this sort of thing is not as easy as it would be if we were working through some API that intelligently handled all of that for us. And of course any time you have a task that requires developer resources, then you have to prioritize it...and since we're still dealing with some inexplicable lag on some users' machines, and still have a couple of tenacious crashing errors that we want to hammer out, those things definitely take priority.Now, on to clarifying the Actually Love quest.***Spoilers and pro-tips below this point. Do not read on if you want the joy of figuring out quest progression by your own ingenuity***Victoria's note has nothing to do with triggering or advancing the quest, however its contents are useful once the quest is active—but strictly speaking it's just pure auxiliary world-building. The "Tools of the Trade" quest also has nothing to do with starting this quest. The quest only triggers once you have progressed to a certain point in your conversations with Victoria, at which point it will start when you have a conversation with the blacksmith. Ordinarily I wouldn't give this kind of detail on how to start a quest but I want to be sure people aren't driving themselves crazy trying to pursue false leads. That's not a dig at you, Defender—I can understand why you made these assumptions. The quest's starting point is deliberately organic, so I wouldn't expect it to be intuitively obvious how it begins.

There is an alarm sound, which seemingly increases in frequency, at the end of which, my aircraft crashes. The black box file describes the cause of the accident as “crash” with code: 37. Any idea? It's probably not the scanner if it scanned the document and the scanner was able to return to its home position. It sounds like its crashing while trying to process the document, which is really odd, and counter intuitive. I still get nothing but jumble lya (hehehehe) with it, even though I have the level thing on and its not vibrating, I have the overhehad lighting on so its got plenty of light, but the light is far enough away there shouldn't be a glare, and the field report thing says all edges visible.

Yeah, there's definitely an L-Shape.I've been following Jade's walkthrough and he says to go all the way west then all the way north. That's where I hear the tamer and the door but there are no gaps in either of the walls.I've traveled around that area but I've not found a way to the tamer and door. I hate mazes lol.

I'm glad you found it. Yes, the guide says to go all west and north, and you will hear the door and tamer to your left, but you still have to keep going...south, then around west and then north and east. It's a stupid room layout, which I can say about a lot of the game. Walls and stuff which are there purely to get in the way, which I've never liked. But yeah, glad you figured it out.I haven't played manamon in months now, and don't think I will in the foreseeable future either. The weeks I spent on that game...well, let's just say it's time I wish I had back, in hindsight. Ditto making the guide.

We have worked very hard to make Thaumistry accessible to visually impaired players, and produced a pure text-mode version of it in order to make it completely accessible. But even with pure text-mode output, JAWS will randomly skip lines of text. This seems to be a JAWS bug we have no control over. The game is perfectly fine if the player uses the JAWS cursor to navigate and read the text line by line, instead of relying on JAWS to automatically read it out as new lines appear.We do not want to deliver a bad experience to our players. Do you think we should tell players “the game is not compatible with JAWS?” Or do you think it’s OK to say, “the game is compatible with JAWS when using the JAWS cursor?”--Bob Bates

Here's the problem with that idea of "taking initiative". Apple is not obligated to implement accessibility. They're not obligated to make their phones accessible. But we all already know that. That also means they're not obligated to add TTS voices we want. And if we send them a hundred emails, a thousand, etc the chance of them actually adding it is going to significantly diminish. If it doesn't earn them profit, chances are they won't add it. It's a common business aphorism for businesses like Apple: "If it doesn't earn us profit, it's not worth doing."

It sends messages to the Apple Accessibility Team, which may or may not truly care about accessibility (just because it's there doesn't mean they care). Now, my reason for stating that they might not implement the feature if we bombard them with emails is simple: these are real people, reading these emails. And if they get hundreds to thousands of emails saying, basically, "Add the eloquence TS synthesizer to iOS," they'll get annoyed and start ignoring us. That's exactly the wrong thing to do. So if we want to take initiative, a few people need to get together on Skype, perhaps, and hash out a plan of some kind, bring it to this topic, and the community can give their input. But we can't just flood their inbox with emails from hundreds of people asking the same thing. We tried that with Valve and that got us absolutely nowhere.

If you have an iPhone, seeing Ai is an essential app, not only does it help in games, it helps in every day life. It can read any text in front of the camera as it comes up, so it should be able to read the menus, though keep in mind that it may be a bit garbled in places because of moving graphics and the like.

It would probably be best to say that Jaws support is limited or experimental, it would be best to use another screen reader. You might still get some flack off people, but if you've done what you can, then you've done what you can.

need some guidance on XBox and mainstream games

Hi all,I just purchased an XBox 1S. I have it set up with Narrator and have installed Killer Instinct, Injustice Gods Among Us, and Mortal Kombat XL. I am very new to mainstream games and especially fighting games.I have found a menu guide for KI and MK, which are very useful.Right now, I don't really have any sighted friends who are gamers.What resources have people used to figure out the menus in games?Also, what other games are people playing successfully on the XBox? I've read about Madden, Gears of War and possibly Halo, but I haven't found any guides for them.Also, can anyone give me links for easily readable move lists for KI, Injustice and Mortal Kombat?A lot of the move lists I'm finding use graphics to show the controller inputs. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I think a majority of the people here know how the world works, and have written to developers about accessibility issues. I'm not saying either that they care, though I have spoken to one apple rep who was very knowledgeable and did seem to, but one out of several hundred thousand employees doesn't make the image hold. I'm also not saying that its a guaranteed if we bitch loud enough. Probably the best course of action without flooding their inboxes would be to start up a petition and get as many signatures as we could get, I would say several thousand minimum, better if that number trended up to 50K. I'm not saying that will happen either, but the alternative, which is doing nothing won't accomplish anything either.I'd sign the petition, but I'm not really feeling the need to have eloquence on my iDevices.

I'd just ignore ironcross32, he just likes to troll JAWS whenever he can and doesn't care to contribute anything useful or constructive unless you are talking about his chosen screen reader. Very close minded in my opinion.I think it would be best to note that the game works with JAWS if you use the JAWS cursor, that way you give those customers who use JAWS and don't want to have to learn another screen reader a way to play the game using JAWS.It would also be helpful to note that the game works well with NVDA for those customers willing to use an alternate screen reader to play the game.And finally, if you think the line skipping is a bug in JAWS, I'd suggest notifying Freedom Scientific. If it's something they can reproduce, perhaps they will be willing to fix it.I say perhaps because Freedom Scientific seems to mostly focus on making productivity software accessible through JAWS and tends to ignore games. Unfortunate, but it is what it is.

Agreed with 6. It's a well-known fact that JAWS has more intrusive keyhooking than NVDA, so it doesn't work with most games except ones that enable the JAWS keyhook, but that's broken in newer versions of windows I think. That's a fact, not a poke at JAWS.

Well ironcross, I am testing or rather have completed testing on a text console version which should get away from the origional qt version, I had loads of issues with this to with nvda.I can't tell you when it will be out, but sooner rather than later, as while I found a few bugs, they didn't really stop me completing the game.

Um.Hi bob, I am unsure about jaws but the current qt version with nvda has a lot of issues with access so jaws will have the same thing.Now Not sure if I am allowed to discuss the text mode version here or not that I am currently testing but I was able to complete text mode with a little fiddling in about an hour without the issues I had before with nvda.Being that it is a console app, it technically will work with jaws, but jaws and its group behind it is a strange animal these days and I don't know it at least not since 6.2.q

I don't have an iDevice; I have an Android. As I've said about petitions though, you've gotta be convincing. You'll never get more than 5000 signatures, tops, if your not convincing enough. I'd ask you to look at petitions such as This one as a convincing one and this one as a not so convincing one if I knew they'd help, but they probably won't. (Yes, the ladder one does have more supporters, ,but plays off of propaganda and irrational fear. The description makes that quite clear with phrases like "their deadly 'guns everywhere' agenda", "hostile foreign power", "broke the law" and "betrayed our country".) And, in case anyone asks, I don't believe the "Russians interfered with our elections" bullshit. The evidence I saw on the news  (mainly, the IP address and tools they used) isn't hard evidence at all. It's like saying that you just "know" someone murdered someone else because you "remembered it happening". And normally, I'd go search for more information, but government services like the FBI use the news media as a mouthpiece so... anyway, that's a topic for another day.

I had no issues playing the text mode version with NVDA, but JAWS is another beast entirely.@Orco, that had nothing to do with the current topic, and Ironcross was not being close minded in any way. He and I both prefer NVDA, but that doesn't make either of us close-minded.@Bobbates, I want to congratulate you for creating such a fantastically awesome game. Not since Infocom has a text adventure made me think as much as Thaumestry did (not just about the gameplay, but the story and ideas in the game.)

Chaotic century, a scifi based crimson moon mod

This is essentially a mod of Crimson moon see index Instead of being attacked by a vampire or werewolf and raised as undead, instead your recruited into the armed forces as one of a number of specialist troop types to join the war against the aliens who have invaded the earth. The outer area, rather than being full of fantasy creatures is a barren set of satellites and space locations where you can battle alien nasties, similarly, instead of training at the tooth and nail gym, you will find yourself tweaking your characters genetics with the virtualiser. I'm not far enough into the game to determine what exactly the differences are between this and crimson moon in gameplay terms. The game does have more player types and  to have more missions and quests, but again i'm not %100 sure here. Either way, Crimson moon had more to it than met the eye, and so if like me scifi is more your  than the undead feel free to give this one a try.Sign up here Oh and yes, that is my referal link .

Thanks for replying Jade.I got past the first 2 doors, but now I'm having a bit of trouble with the box puzzle.The walkthrough says to push it down twice, east 4 times and then west 8 spaces, but afterwords I'm unable to push it northwards into the teleporter. Stupid mazes and box puzzles lol.

@Orko, Ironcross32 does have a significant point, despite what you may believe. JAWS is hard to use in command-line environments. And don't tell me that I'm wrong because I've used it in command prompt more than once. JAWS doesn't work well with it; it either skips important things, reads things more than once, or otherwise is generally annoying in the command line, whereas NVDA works very well with the command line, makes it very easy to navigate... it feels like Linux... almost. Still got that windows touch, though. It's not based on screen-reader preference or close-mindedness; it's based off of practical usage, and JAWS fails in that department. On the CLI, as you well know, text is very, very important. JAWS loves skipping around and the JAWS cursor is just weird.

@5 that's very possible, and I don't doubt you there. In fact, I wasn't trying to imply that using NVDA would fix things. I don't know anything about this game, having never played it, and only heard of it in passing in a recent topic here.NVDA has some issues when it comes to the terminal, especially when a cursor is involved. For instance, try SSHing into a server from either puTTY or the WSL bash environment in windows 10, then open up a file in nano, and try to edit that file, its pretty bad. There's an addon that is supposed to help with this, but I think its pretty experimental as you have to increase and decrease a value to alter the timing.@Orco You just keep giving me more ammo to use against you, not smart in my opinion, but hey, if that's what you want to do, feel free to. I don't see how its trolling to give a developer advice they themselves sought out. Further, I don't believe that post contained anything derogatory about Jaws or the company who produces it. I don't like it, that's true, and I make no bones about it, I have a multitude of reasons, which would be off topic, even more so than this already is, so I won't go into them here. However, it was already stated that people were having issues using it to play the game, the issue of it skipping lines was brought up.I also thihnk it would be beneficial for you to see what a troll actually is / does, why not check out some place like 4chan, while you're doing that, maybe the rest of us will get some peace.

Hey and good evening everyone.So great, an already stressfull week got worse today. I was in the process of copying some files from a friends harddrive to my own when there were suddenly errors coming up that the files can not be copied successfully because the destination is not reachable, a network storage device or an empty CD-Rom drive.I than disconnected the drive and when I plugged it back in it took quite some time for it to show up in the windows explorer.When I clicked on the now named local storage named harddrive, it told me that the drive couldn't be accessed. I than looked at the propertys of the harddrive and it told me that there were 0 bytes of storage space and 0 bytes still available.I than tryed plugging the HDD into my friends computer and the autoplay dialogue popped up and gave the suggestion to fix the drive what we did than.When I plugged the drive back into the USB port on my machine, it came back as Harddrive1, so the name i gave to it.When I looked at the properties, it gave me the correct storage used and space remaining numbers.But, here comes the strange part, when I open the drive, I see all the folders and files in the root directory, but all the folders are empty and media files give a VLC error that they can not be played.So, I don't know what the heck is going on, empty folders, but still an almost full harddrive? I don't get it.Fact is though that I can't access my files.is there someone around here knowing what to do? I want to get a new HDD anyway, so even if it's just a quick and dirty backup solution, I am thankfull for every idea you guys have, guess that drive is going into the trash when, if it is even possible to recover my data.Thanks in advance.Greetings Moritz.

Well, there's a few things there. First off, anyone can go download NVDA for no charge and use it to play that game, while using Jaws for everything else. Now, is that optimal, no not really, but its a lot more doable than it would be if that person were an NVDA user and that game or translation pack were exclusive to Leasey. They'd have to buy Jaws, then go buy a subscription or however it works, then take advantage of the service. Also, one thing about it, NVDA addons are flexible because they use the power of the Python language, while Jaws scripts, I can't speak for much as I've never tried to code in it, but its proprietary, their own in-house production, and it will have limitations due to that. For one thing, it might not be able to call on external libraries, or it might not be able to open network sockets and so forth. I honestly don't know, this is outside my area of expertise. So, maybe its impractical, or impossible to make such a translation pack for Jaws, I really don't know. Certainly, if they can, they should do so.

sounds like the file headers have been damaged but not sure how to fix it. scandisk seems an obvious choice but probably too obvious and won't work. you could try a chkdsk /f from a command prompt with the letter for the drive but again, probably not going to be effective enough. if you know the make and model of the drive the manufacturors usually have their own diagnostic software on their websites so that may be worth a try.

sorry to double post but I just did some checking and it does sound like a mft problem. if it is the master file table chkdsk should fix it. just open a command promt by hitting windows key plus R and typing cmd then hit enter. then type chkdsk /f then the drive letter for the drive you want to check. example, chkdsk /f f: and don't forget the colon. lol.if it can't fix it, again as I mentioned earlier, try going to the manufacturor's website and see if they have a disk repair tool. all the big ones usually do. I may have some knocking about somewhere but I'm too lazy to check rite now but I know maxtore, Seagate, western digital, Toshiba etc all have their own diagnostics.

Hi.Thanks for your quick answer.I tried the chkdsk command as you described, the problem is that it throws an error that the file system is raw and that chkdsk is not available for raw filesystems. Strangely though, when i check the drives properties, it shows the file system as NTFS.Greetings Moritz.

H WIth NVDA and Windows 10, you just press NVDA + R and it will review the contents of a screen for you.    GOlden Cursor requires you have the cordinants for the   mouse positions.  I can paste the cordinants here if you need or wnat them, there's a few and you have to follow an order for them to work properly or it will nto work at all.

hiMy girl had this issue a while ago, I tracked it down to corrupt segments[boot sector problems ETC],It took a long time, and a lot of swearing, to fix and included reformatting the entire thing.First of all, grab recuva, which will rover all your data for you.then its up to you, either grab a hammer, smack the old drive and chuck it in the bin and get a new one, or after a little bit of research you should be able to find how to reformat it through command line, and fix the issue, with the risk of it happening again.

I've never tried recuva but the investigating I just did mentioned that a lot and it does say it will usually be able to get all the data off the drive so good suggestion. I'd actually try that first then go down the route of looking at the forum post I mentioned in post 5 if you have no luck.

if those didn't work, especially recuva, I'm sorry mate, but I don't think there's anything can be done. Recuva should have been able to get it back honestly. I don't know why it couldn't, but what I do know is the underlying magnetism of the drive is there, and anything you put on there and delete is still technically there unless its been overwrittten. It would take about 7 times to completely wipe it out, which is why they make shredder programs, which do that sector by sector. As I've said, I think you may be out of luck.If its an SSD, other than the fact its not moving, and its stored on chips, I don't know much about them, perhaps if you delete from an SSD with the shift delete option, it really is gone for good.I use that a lot too, but its risky.

Hi.Two things.Badger, I did try the methods suggested in the forum post you linked, but sadly changing the drive letter won't help.It would be cool if you could look for the WD elements diagnostic tool because for some odd reason, the website doesnt work for me, at leased I can't get to the download page.Darder, I tried recuva, but well, another error on that, when I try scanning the harddrive which is now showing as local disk.harddisk volume 3, I get the error that it can't determine gthe file system.Greetings Moritz.
