I need help with two records. The writing for both is terrible, so bad that
I am barely able to read some of the names. The first is my

Hi Pam,
If you click on the person to see the details you seem to get more or most of
the name but there are cases where you only get the woman’s first name such as
Maria in tree view and in detail. I am beginning to think they transferred the
old data by something other than a gedcom and
I just tried to find the telephone number on FTDNA web site but did not find
it if it is there it is well layered.
Using an internet search I found this number 1-713-868-1438. The full
information is here. http://host.trustab.org/familytreedna Their phones have
been ringing off the hook since
Below is the marriage record of Antonio Jorge and Anna Vasconcellos (bottom

My thanks to Pam Santos for finding (and sending the link) to me.
Unfortuantely, this is a difficult one for me to read.
I cannot even read the date or the parents names, or if they were given at

Hi Denise,
Yes they are my people also. They are my 6th Great Grand Parents That would
be a bit too distant to show up on a Family Finder.

Cousin Robert Lee Carvalho. I also match Altino Demelo He is a 6th
Hi Lee,
The record is pretty difficult to read. First, there does not seem to be a
date, however maybe someone can find a mention of it somewhere in the
record. Sometimes the priest either forgot to write the date or it could be
the same date as the previous marriage record. It looks like it
Hi Rick,
I thought I was going crazy for a minute! LOL Sebastiao and Isabel are my
fathers 6th great-grands and my 7th. We descend from 2 daughters of theirs,
Maria and Barbara, and you descend from Antonia if I have it all correct. I
didn't realize that they were too far out to show the
You should use Gedmatch to further clarify the match.6th cousins often show up for my Family Finder matches. The 200 year rule isn't worth much.Doug da Rocha HolmesSacramento, CaliforniaPico Terceira Genealogist916-550-1618www.dholmes.com

I have generally said 200 yearsis about the range. If you really think about it
this could represent 10 generations or it could represent 6 or 7 generations.
It is not so much as the number of years but the number of generations. The
further back you go the smaller the segments of DNA match.
Hello

does anyone have any information on the last name GALANTE, from Sao Miguel,
Lagoa, Santa Cruz and/or Rosario. I know of one family that went to Hawaii in

This section simply states who the witnesses are, Jacinto Joze Moreira and
Bonafacio Joze and it lists their parents. They are not likely related to
your ancestors and appear often as witnesses.
