Yes Nisus Writer on the classic OS did keep text in the data fork and formatting in the resource fork, but surely any word processor will be able to just export a text file, so you could utilise the variable tab stops in any word processor or use a spreadsheet, then export as text? Patrick On

Hi Chris, Thanks for the feedback and the example. I like the simpler pattern too :-) As to why I am activating it from a clipping, well because it is part of a bigger set of clippings. Clippings are the sensible method for most of the set. This one is the oddball, but I want to keep everything

I am excited to start using BBedit. I am long time Textmate user and just got bbedit 10. One thing that I can't find that I would like to know. In Textmate if you do command T you get a window that allows you to start typing the name of files in the project and it will list the closes matching
