Is there anyone from Macromedia that can validate that i can install the
windows language pack for verity on my Linux box running version 6.1 MX?
This is really making me nervous.
Is the documentation on the macromedia web site wrong?

Thanks for the help Steven. it just scares the heck out of me when the
Download page has the verity files split up into windows, HP/UX, solaris, and
Linux.
Why is the Linux tar 60 megabytes and the windows zip 41 megabytes? They
appear different!
I will make sure to back up the system before

I have run into another problem.
Apparently Linux can only do European languages with verity. All of the other
OS's can so double byte like Chinese, Korean, Japanese etc... why cant Linux?
Does anyone have a workaround or a way to get double byte languages in Linux
verity???

Not that i know of. Are they on the macromedia site or on the CD?
Thanks!

I am trying to add some verity collections using CF Admin.
I get an error on any language that i select except for English. English works
fine.
Unable to create collection.
An error occurred while performing an operation in the Search Engine native

Thanks Jochem!
Maybe my question should have been phrased... can i use CF 5 and MySQL for
Chinese characters?
I need to figure out if the ISP that i am thinking about using (who is still on
5, but on the latest version of MySQL) is worth hosting with.
What is the minimum combo? Anyone know?
What is the official combo of MySQL and CF to support complex languages?
I have heard that you have to have 4.1 MySQL and you have to have MX.
Thanks!

I have just started to get my feet wet with XML and CF.
I thought I would play with the idea of converting my current shopping
basket code so it would store all of the items in an XML structure that
is stored in a session variable.
I have figured out how to create the XML structure and search the

I have always heard that SIT is 8 bit and HQX is 7 bit
So the 8th bit of a SIT file tends to get chopped off if the file is
modified on a PC.

We are pretty new to flash.
Does anyone have a super simple example of taking a CFQUERY and passing
the data to a flash program for display?
We just want to do basically a CFOUTPUT inside of flash. Some of
macromedia's examples are really confusing.
One thing that Dreamweaver really needs is an easy way to run a Java
compiler.
I wonder if there is a way to run an outide EXE and pass arguments to
it? I will check.

I have been forcing myself to get use to Dreamweaver, and so far I am
alright with the software. I still load up CF studio out of habit. I
had to do a lot of customization to the preferences to get it to work
like CF Studio. I am still not completely happy with it yet.

Adding a web site to IIS and MX is a PITA! Anyone write a script yet to
automate this?
Is there a 15 web site cap? All web pages after the 15th seem to not
inherit MX settings.

Quick question. Are there any books or articles out there that describe
best practices for laying out product in a database?
Say you have product like a t-shirt. You could layout a relational
database like this, but is this the best method? Should sizes, and
colors have their own table?

Hello,
We are looking at developing a Java, VB, or C++ application to help us
