I owned a C 24, 29-2 and 27-5. I just sold my 27-5 and bought a Hunter 37.5
1993 with a friend. We wanted a boat that had two private berths. He is more
of a cruiser and I like a performance boat. We looked at a number of

This forum is awesome. Thanks everyone for weighing in on the 83 mk3 purchase.
Your posts have lessened my concerns and we hope to be living aboard in a week.
Fingers crossed on the survey. I hope all goes well for the other fellow
currently buying a mk3 too.

Wow...almost missed a chance to brag about my boat?!! I've been trying to
cruise the Grand Traverse area of Lake Michigan, and got weathered in.
Heading to Charlevoix tomorrow, then hopefully home to St Ignace. Great
week if it were October!!

I purchased a 35 mk3 last year. I had reached the point that I was only looking
at 35 mk3's. They are notorious PHRF beaters and decent for cruising. Though
not as good for cruising as a cruising boat nor as competitive as a hardcore
racer, it's a great racer cruiser for those willing to

Well, we went to Charlevoix to look at the 1981 C 32. Not the boat for us.
Interior has not been taken care of. Buckets under the portlights to catch the
leaks, forward hatch so crazed that it looks
Great choice! Sorry to hear about the 32. Hate seeing good boats turn to

Do make sure that with the 35-3, that you and your surveyor research then
examine very closely the keel stub/mast step area. Several on this list have
repaired theirs, and a pro repair is an expensive proposition.

Daniel,
We are also looking at a 1983 C 35, Mark III that is listed at $29,900 so we
will be interested in what your final offer is. We are going to look at a C

Yup. Great boat. Offer, survey, adjust the offer or not, buy, go sail. We love
our boat. Truthfully, the key is a really thorough survey. Decide what you can
live with and are willing to pay for the boat. Whether or not it is a good boat
is easy for all on this forum.
Maybe drive on down to

Daniel,
Welcome to the list! I'm a former owner of a 35/3, but remain on the list

Biggest concern is to check the deck for water intrusion. From the photos
