The port side chainplates from Corsair are still good. You could check
with John Reelman at Torresen Marine to see about them. Once again, he
has told me the the biggest impediment is shipping across the border.

Well, we went to Charlevoix to look at the 1981 C 32. Not the boat for us.
Interior has not been taken care of. Buckets under the portlights to catch the
leaks, forward hatch so crazed that it looks like it might break with a big
rain drop, floor so bad that it was mushy in front the mast

We moved the new (to us) 1983 C 35, Mark III from Muskegon, Michigan
to Whitehall, Michigan Saturday. Nice day for the move, started out
sunny and mild with fairly light winds out of the West with a fairly
light chop. We sailed on a close reach up the lake. The winds picked
up a little and
We are the proud new owners of a 1983 C 35, Mark III (ZCC35028M83H).
Closed the deal on it and took position this afternoon. We will move it
up from Muskegon to White Lake tomorrow, back home to Crosswinds Marina
in Whitehall.
We'll have about 4 weeks to familiarize ourselves with her
I guess our cold, snow and freezing weather doesn't sound so bad now.
Good luck. I still remember the Texas Agriculture Secretary putting his
arm in a Fire Ant hive to show that they really aren't such a problem.
He quickly withdrew his arm wiping ants off and wincing in pain. I

One of the items in our new C 35, Mark III was that there was moisture
in the rudder and the surveyor suggested drilling drainage holes.
Anyone want to suggest the location to drill? We hauled out last night
and I am going up to the boat to disconnect batteries on Wednesday. I
assume that

From somebody who has lost a rig. Of all of the things we spend our
money on, the rig is one where spending the money on a rigger makes
sense. It is no fun to be bobbing a mile off shore trying to collect
rigging and sails in three foot waves, afraid to engage the motor for
fear of tangling
Wow. Nice boat. You must be a glutton for punishment with all of that
deck teak.
Let us know how she sails.

We launched this morning for the season. Launch slot was at 8 am with a
1:45 drive to the boat. Had to VC-17 the cradle pad areas before
splashing. Rained on us from the house until about 20 minutes from
boat. Then the rain held off until we were at the dock and tied up.

Joe brings up a good point. Have someone look at the failed bolts. It
should be evident as to whether the failure was shear or fatigue due to
a misaligned engine or twisting due to broken motor mount.
The failed surfaces will look different between a shear failure and low
cycle fatigue.
