The fog and drizzle helped the banding pick up today! We had so many birds to process we had to close the nets twice to catch up! Highlights of today were two Clay-colored Sparrows and four Lark Sparrows. Our list - 74 birds processed! BLGR BUOR CCSP 2 CHSP 22 COYE GRCA 2 HOWR 4 LASP 4 LAZB 34

When doing my BBS Edison School Route this year I was impressed with higher number of Cassin's Sparrows. Compared to last year when there were almost no Lark Buntings, there were more, but not up to usual census. I found Mountain Plover in three new places :) But no Burrowing Owls :( Dave David
