I've had three parties of Red Crossbill (all with Type 2 c alls) passing
north over St. Mary Church along South Prince in Littleton (ARA) so far
this morning, plus some Pine Siskins. 5 Lark Buntings also flew over the
church parking lot heading south. And multiple Wilson's Warblers are in the
Crossbills *(Type 2).
2 *Gray-headed Juncos* in sparse oaks amid grassland were the only ones
I've seen down out of the forest nesting habitat since mid-April. A *Red-naped
Sapsucker* in a backyard was perhaps wandered downslope or was a migrant.

Interestingly (to me), the form that I've so far seen most rarely in my
yard (Gray-headed) is the one that nests within a mile of my home. Maybe
they'll be more regular this winter as my feeding station becomes better
known among the birds.

Some *Nor. Saw-whet Owls* were pretty vocal in areas of Ponderosa or mixed
forest near Bailey.

Loon*. Indeed, the loon was the only waterbird in evidence on that body of

*Merlin* flying over. A group of 4 *Sandhill Cranes* joined the
southbound flow. Single *Swamp Sparrows* were in two different areas of
cattail marsh along Plum Creek. *Eurasian Collared Doves* were flying over
(all WSW and gathered in trees near Plum Creek, totaling to over 350 doves!

Black-backed Gulls* amid the flocks. A *Bald Eagle* perched near the lake.

White Pelicans* (Douglas Co). The
Swans flew over toward the Jefferson Co side of the world, and I later
refound them off the Swim Beach in JeffCo. An adult male *White-winged
Scoter *was also in that area, perhaps the same as I saw flying over C470
the day before.
