PDF printer (WinXP Pro) - couldn't copy/paste, couldn't save as another
file type, couldn't do anything except look at it or print hard copy.

So, a work-around that worked was to print hard copy and then

there to up convert? Up converting dvd players take dvds and push them to
480p AFAIK. But if your source is standard 480i, then it's never going to
be better then that. Do standard directv boxes do 480p?

Agreed, upconverting really does make a difference. I use an
upconverting DVD player and while it doesn't look as perfect as 1080i,
it is still quite impressive. It certainly looks a whole lot better than
some of the 720 stuff that is being broadcast as HDTV.

either respect the lock, find a more open supplier, or apply to the LOC for a
