I'm pretty sure you still can't do that either. Those plugins that let you
get karambit asiimovs, for example, get your server banned, even though
that's not a marketplace skin.

And you still can do that without going against the server ToS in CS:GO.
Valve have made it so you can't use the community market skins to cause
false ownership of items. This makes totally sense to me.
You're allowed to download/create your own custom models and make your
community use those.
Before banning tokens, Valve did IP bans. It's impossible...
What about GSPs getting their IPs banned due to 1 customer? It affects multiple
innocent people hosted on the same IP.

Getting banned every 2 days isn't enough it should be way more often or some
other solution should be put in place. Perhaps IP ban should apply as well
not only your token.

The same has happened on the modding / server plugin front - people used to
share information pretty much freely and help each out (and server admins
willing to try their hand at coding), now it's all private in the name of
exclusivity, $$$, and laziness.
This has had a double effect of pushing
I do have to concur with Saint K. we moved to discord and pretty much all
income is gone. Always did pay for the servers, even with income. During
that time i had to pay 'less' but i don't mind because it is for the
community.
Items that where broken took sometimes years, if fixed at all. The

My point, which doesn’t seem to have come across entirely, from my first post

You’re looking at outdated data. As communities as a whole moved into an
entirely different direction, community websites don’t really matter anymore.
Most communications go through alternative platforms nowadays – such as
discord. If you looked a bit further you also see that registration
Once upon a time is dead and gone. I also had incredibly popular servers
once upon a time, with enough donations to pay for the server *and* buy
things for the community (eg games for giveaways). It's not like that
anymore around here.
I still run servers, and I pay for them with my own money,
No need to be a dick against anyone. We're all here just because we have
one thing in common, running servers. If you aren't for that here or
have nothing contributing to say, you should not post at all.
Let me tell you how i've done since 2004, - ive paid the bills myself
from my own pocket
Saint K is so adorable. Very strong, hard coded opinions about how
community servers should be run based on his 18 years of real life
community operating experience. If communities aren't run how he thinks
they should, they should die a painful death, their owners probably should
too huh?
Let's
Once upon a time we also had US based servers. Same deal.
Hosting servers as a clan or community never has been about raising or earning
money. These are hobby projects and you should treat them as such.
Besides having paid for the game, VALVe owes you nothing in terms of server
software and
Location is a huge factor. I can tell by your website you're based in
Europe (but I couldn't find your csgo servers?), which has a much different
cago community than America. There's a much greater emphasis on competitive
play in Europe and vanilla servers are more accepted, whereas in America
I've been running gaming communities since 1999.
That money grabbing attitude is something from the last 5-10 years.
Donations never have been an issue for any of the communities I've dealt with.
A simple reserved-slot reward is what users receive on donating. It's simple
economics -
You are a moron if you think that people want to pay for something that
they can get for free, I could apply the same logic to valves decision, if
people want to buy skins they will buy them why block the plugins?
And those servers who continue running these plugins are UNIQUE and they
exist
The concepts were fine before valve put all these restriction on servers.
People enjoy playing in servers with absurd skins. Just go into any 1.6 or
source server and you'll see. The problem is valve made those "illegal" in
csgo, so now you have to monetize because you have to keep buying tokens.
The problem is that they don't realize we have to pay server bills too...

It's true. For a game literally built from the ground up on community
effort, the community in this game has been severely crippled.

Why the heck there is such a thing as forbidden plugins, that is like
making a mod for skyrim, and skyrim devs would ban players for using it.
This is just plain stupid.

What is your point? They already get banned every 2 days….
Yes, they get new tokens every banwave… Valve doesn’t care, since they’ll just
earn more $$$ when they ban the servers.
Since Valve doesn’t care about the community at all, people will always use
forbidden plugins. Maybe you
Valve should create a place to report cheating servers, on website. We
don’t need to join their server to report in game.
As we can Find they listing here:
http://www.gametracker.com/search/csgo/?query=%21ws+%21knife
Those servers with !knife !gloves !ws plugins.
Thanks and best regards!
