the MediaServer spec I mentioned, I would
have just informed Tracker guys which API is slow and it would have
been upto them to optimize it. i-e I wouldn't have needed to even know
about optionals and property functions, let alone to change/redesign
my code to make the queries faster.

While it is true that ideal scenerio would be for Vala to simply use
gir/typelib but gir is missing features supported by vala and its
bindings for many years now. Nested namespace is one of them. Another
example is default values for parameters.
