The normal user wants a clean shutdown or reboot and as I wrote its a dirty
hack until this problem is resolved by the maintainers

patch to fix duplex so that in the current Ubuntu package this bug is
fixed. Your patches will go in as part of a later Poppler update (to a
Poppler version which includes the patches).

Generally, the patches work well, but they have a problem. They break
the ABI. I have backported them into the current Ubuntu package and now
several other packages which use Poppler, like evince, do not work any

It should be that when installing bumblebee it should install nvidia,
but installing the nvidia drivers should not install bumblebee.
Bumblebee is a 'hack' to get dual video cards working until nvidia
supports it in their linux drivers. What bumblebee does is it stops the

Confirming - I'm seeing the same, with redshift 1.7. As others have said
above, confirming that I was also able to workaround the clearly
missing dependency via manually doing:
sudo apt-get install geoclue-hostip
Still using 1.7 instead of 1.8 as that's the vesion

ALl I want is to set DPMS to turn the screen off after 5 minutes with

I ran 'sudo update-usbids' and rebooted and tried different ports usb3
and usb2, I can't detect a difference in behaviour. Note it is listed as
