CI env working again after the revert?

CLOUDSTACK-9348: NioConnection improvements

- Unit test to demonstrate denial of service attack
  The NioConnection uses blocking handlers for various events such as 
connect,
  accept, read, write. In case a client connects NioServer (used by
  agent mgr to service agents on port 8250) but fails to participate in SSL
  handshake or just sits idle, this would block the main IO/selector loop in
  NioConnection. Such a client could be either malicious or aggresive.

  This unit test demonstrates such a malicious client that can perform a
  denial-of-service attack on NioServer that blocks it to serve any other 
client.

- Use non-blocking SSL handshake
  - Uses non-blocking socket config in NioClient and NioServer/NioConnection
  - Scalable connectivity from agents and peer clustered-management server
  - Removes blocking ssl handshake code with a non-blocking code
  - Protects from denial-of-service issues that can degrade mgmt server 
responsiveness
due to an aggressive/malicious client
  - Uses separate executor services for handling ssl handshakes

@rhtyd I reverted this in master to hopefully unblock my CI environments 
from failing as I am basically at my freeze date.  Would you mind putting the

I think I am going to have to revert this PR because it seems to be 
responsible for the `addHost` issue I am having in all my CI environments while 
doing DeployDC.  On completely new deployments, I got the `addHost` error on 
all 6 of my CI environments with #1493 included.  I have noticed this as an 
intermittent issue for the last while, but could not isolate it.

I have reverted #1493 (and it's descendants) locally and I have not had the 
error in my first 3 tests after reverting it.  I only started seeing the 
problem after #1493. 

With the freeze basically here, I need my CI environments in action cause I 
have a few PRs that I really want to run before I merge and freeze...

This is what I plan to run to revert (brackets are for reference, not to be 
run):

there were a couple fixes to jenkins and travis in a commit a few days ago, 
so i wanted to make sure those fixes were in the code base when you pushed.  I 
am concerned some of the PRs with failing Jenkins or Travis runs are missing 
some of the recent fixes.  I am going to have to make judgement calls on some 
of these anyway.  Just trying to get a final status on everything before I 
merge and freeze.

So I would say Debian or CentOS?

A Debian minimal install is very small and easy. But do we want to maintain a 
template as well? Isn't it easier to link somewhere?

This one is pretty much ready, but without verification that it works and 
without the required code reviews I can't really justify merging it.  I just 
don't know if works and does not break anything...  Not sure what to do with 
this one...  4.9 freeze is VERY close right now, so time is of the essence...

@insom we are down to the wire here.  I would like to see if we can get 
this green and merge it before the freeze.  Can you rebase and push again to 
kick the automation.  I will likely make judgement calls and merge PRs that 
have a passing travis even if jenkins is failing.  We will see.  I would rather 
not be in that situation...

@remibergsma would you mind rebasing and re-pushing?  We don't have the 
reason why Jenkins failed, but Travis passed, so I am considering making a

@dsclose can you rebase and re-push this PR to try to get it green.  We are 
down to the wire now.  I will probably merge some PRs that only have jenkins 
failing if travis is passing, but I don't think I can make exceptions if both 
jenkins and travis are failing.

Taking a long-term view, I'm not overly keen on the project's dependence on 
Wido for cloudstack.apt-get.eu either.
The CloudStack alliance owning whatever the domain name might be could well be 
the best/most neutral way forward.  

Now 'just' to get everyone to agree on what that domain name should be.

@Ian, yes, but I think there is more to it than that.  We can change it going 
forward and we can move everything from there over to a new domain.
I believe the problem is with all of the existing ACS or CCP installs out there 
currently pointing at the download.cloud.com URL, so when it goes down, those 
installs have to be updated.

Maybe I don't understand exactly, but that is the impression I am getting from 
this thread.  Can this be confirmed?

So far I don't think any of the other changes that have gotten in have 
required system template changes.  Which is why I am asking.  There is one that 
I think is probably ready to get added, but it is a one liner.  StrongSwan and 
OSPF were the big ones that would have required a new system vm template...

the content move Citrix may choose to remove the content from the location.

@Ian, yes, but I think there is more to it than that.  We can change it
going forward and we can move everything from there over to a new domain.
I believe the problem is with all of the existing ACS or CCP installs out
there currently pointing at the download.cloud.com URL, so when it goes
down, those installs have to be updated.

Maybe I don't understand exactly, but that is the impression I am getting
from this thread.  Can this be confirmed?

It only changes the iso not the template. So what do you mean @swill it is 
part of the run to create a new iso and use it, right?

Paul,  

trust me, it won’t be go away overnight.  We are talking to Citrix and 
requested them to keep it active for another year.  

Once we have the content copied over (I will work with Wido and verify this) to 
cloudstack.apt-get.eu and update the documentation (user guides update and 
create a wiki to show how an existing installation can fixed to point to new 
URLs) we don’t have a dependency on “download.cloud.com” – right?  sorry, if I 
am missing something here?   Please let me know,

Hey guys, who controls apt-get.eu and given the (rather concerning)
level of dependency on the operation of the download.cloud.com - would
it not make sense to use a domain that is under the control of party
whose alignment with CloudStack will not shift. I hesitate to
implicate the red tape of Apache Foundation, but perhaps the fabled
CloudStack alliance organization would be a good way to handle this
long term.

@swill I looked at recent Jenkins errors and they seem to be environment 
related:

1. Jenkins failed during initialization to checkout the git tag/sha, it 
fails to do a clean up. I would do a git clean -fdx && git checkout -- . && git 
fetch origin; before checking out target branch and applying the PR. I don't 
know who has access to the Jenkins job and can fix it.

2. There seem be a recurring NPE issue with corbertura maven plugin, I 
don't know how to fix it. We can perhaps try to update the version to latest 
(this probably is a Jenkins plugin, so INFRA needs to fix it).

@remibergsma, @DaanHoogland Current global support for nested 
virtualization is only vmware specific and done in VmwareGuru.  
Are you proposing to move the logic up to the HypervisorGuru and change 
vmware.nested.virtualization to just nested.virtualization ? Then the 
implementation can be done in respective Resources.

[Discuss] New built-in templates for CloudStack

Hi All,

As it looks like we're losing download.cloud.com and going to have to write new 
database entries for all of the built-in templates, I think that it's worth 
taking stock of the templates that we're using and trying to consolidate them.

CentOS 5.3(64-bit) no GUI (XenServer)

CentOS 5.5(64-bit) no GUI (KVM)

CentOS 5.6(64-bit) no GUI (XenServer)

CentOS 6.4(64-bit) GUI (Hyperv)

CentOS 5.3(64-bit) no GUI (vSphere)

CentOS 7(64-bit) no GUI (LXC)


I think we should pick one OS and version and have that available across all 
hypervisors if possible.  My criteria would be small, current, can support 
user-data and password reset and is an OS *most* Linux people would be 
comfortable with.

@remibergsma In some private cloud environments nested virtualization is 
not a good fit so it is generally disabled. That's fine but we found that it 
would be very nice to have a way to support exceptions e.g. to support users to 
run Android emulators that as it turned out needs nested virtualization.

@koushik-das sorry for late reply. A reason for defining nfs details in 
`BaseImageStoreDriverImpl` was that as `CloudStackImageStoreDriverImpl` and 
`SimulatorImageStoreDriverImpl` both extend it and they both return a NfsTO 
instance on `getStoreTO` we would need that key at least for the 2 mentioned 
classes. What would you suggest?

Paul,

Yes, you are right, this change impacts both CloudStack and CloudPlatform 
customers.  Not sure, if I understand you correctly, the move away from 
“download.cloud.com” is permanent.  I don’t know how long the content on 
download.cloud.com will be up/available.  

Based on Wido’s availability, we can get rest of the content to 
cloudstack.apt-get.eu, hopefully, by this week ?BTW, the content on 
download.cloud.com is left as is and will stay as is until Citrix decides on 
what to do with it.

Right, had a closer look. That check fails due to env problems:

i.e. "updatevirtualmachine failed, due to: errorCode: 431, errorText:Unable 
to find network with trafficType Guest and guestType Shared in zone 1"

The check should be run in a Security Group zone, not in a pure Advanced 
one.

Talked to @swill and he doesn't know how to get out of this pickle.

@wido Do things still check out for you? I'm guessing the feature is mostly 
of interest to you (,me) and others who run public cloud with SG.

Any suggestions how to move forward?

Man something is up with Jenkins now days.  We have a completely different 
set of errors now.  There seems to be two or three different situations that 
different PRs seem to be hitting and I am not sure what to do about it.  :(

@swill I can only reproduce the loadbalance errors, not the others. When I 
look at the errors I doubt they are related. They work fine for me. But anyway, 
no more time available for me to work on this unfortunately.

Hi Paul,

Thank you for the additional file details and I will request wido to copy these 
as well.  

BTW, I agree with you there is every copy of CloudStack out there and reason 
why I have requested Wido to download all the old files as well.  Looks like we 
missed few and get these uploaded as well.  

Please note that Citrix owns the “download.cloud.com” address and we have to 
get all the CloudStack related content from there.  Once we confirm on the 
content move Citrix may choose to remove the content from the location.

That said, I will get in touch with Wido again and do a complete copy such that 
we have everything.

in a `single` cluster; or similarly 1k or 10k clusters in a `single` zone.

@kiwiflyer & @dmabry for testing, I merged this into 4.7 in my lab and then 
forward merged it to 4.8 and ran CI there.  Everything came back clean.  How 
has your testing gone?

@ustcweizhou the integration tests are functional tests. If there is extra 
functionality to be tested please provide the test for it. And at least 
describe what is missing in the tests, here
You are of course right that we should be carefull with these, but given 
that @The-Loeki works at PCExtreme, I would not be surprised if this runs in 
production at the moment.
