tinker. There is no need to argue, I am neither Apple fan nor PC lover.
Oh, I also don't have time to play with all the compression formats
available, those I have tried left me with some after-effect like
eating food with too
I find Slim Server to be superb. I love it. Never used I-tunes, but
quite frankly I don't see a need for it. I use SB mostly for my CD
collection ripped to FLAC lossless and some old MP3s.

I killed MusicMagic and restarted it and somehow it came back.

I wanted to look at the user interfaces other than Default, and find
that I'm now stuck with Dark.
I made several attempts to return to Default (+Change+Refresh) to no
avail.
I de-installed and re-installed SS and still got the Dark interface.
Is this a known bug and what's the way out?

The WMA stream should be decoded by your SB2. You didn't post any
d_source log using the SB2 - the log you posted was for SoftSqueeze.
There may be a settings problem which a log may uncover so post a log
using the SB2.
Logs are best saved in a file, zipped and then attached to the post.

I have two SB2s that are rock solid so far as synchronisation is
concerned. They are both wired (rather than wireless).
I won't say they never lose synch, but it is extremely rare.
On the basis they are in use every day it will be months between them
losing synch.

Strangely enough, about 15 minutes after I posted that SoftSqueeze and
the Squeezebox in question (which is wireless) came into sync and have

How are your music folders set up? Looks like you have a directory for
Derek and the Dominos. Most people have a directory for 'Derek and the
Dominos - Jams', with all songs in that directory. I wouldn't make the
structure any more complicated than needed.

1) Slimserver will not listen on port 80. Web UI does not accept this
as a valid port for some reason. Perhaps becuase the Linux folk are all
running Webservers, not sure.
2) I downloaded the AnalogX port

Also, MusicMagic has no trouble finding and reading the art files from
the album folders.

Just before I got my SB3, I found that bad tags on some of my WMA files
(a non-unique URL tag) caused SS to crash mid-scan; this sounds similar
to your situation (but might not be the same, of course). The problem
was fixed in the nightly release of 6.2.2 a few days later; so if
you're still
cool! according to the website, its AudioMorph transcode-on-the-fly
feature supports FLAC and OGG and a few other oddities via a plugin
available from them.

i tried my older sb2 and it also chokes when trying to play that file
with player settings on no limit - 320,256 adn 192 will play the fiel
though. is this getting strange?
