One good quality about QTFaireUse that will be sorely missed was that
it intercepted the audio prior to reaching your soundcard and
re-encoded it bit-for-bit back into a duplicate .m4a file without any
re-compression (minus the DRM).

I'd say so, yes. It's a mplayer issue - nothing which could be changed by
the SC/SS side.

Can't this still be caused by having playlists in you main music folder
which gets scanned?
I think playlists need to be in a separate folder, or they will get
scanned and added to the db as well as the actual files, showing tracks
and albums twice. Using SC7 here, so not sre about SS6.5.

I have just upgraded to last night's beta of SC7 and I notice some of

Load your music files in a tag program and look at the tags. That is the
only way to know for sure.
Personally, I delete ALL tags except the id 3v2 tags.Very simple to do
with mp3 tag. Since I use cover.jpg in each folder I also delete ALL
embedded cover art.
Cleans tags yield clean results :)
I had to look twice for this to find it. On the SlimServer webinterface
I select ServerSettings and the select Plug-ins from the list. Than
below the list of all plug-in names I have a section MUSICMAGIC
HTTP-PORT followed by a section LAST.FM / AUDIOSCROBBLER. This is the
section you are looking
Browse Music is now Music Library.
New Music is an item under Music Library.

I have 2xSB2 and 1xSB3 using WPA running on the same model Netgear
router without any issues.
What Mode do you have it running in? If on up to 270 try taking it
down to gb mode and seeing if that improves your connection rate.
Also, what router firmware are you running?

the server gets stuck in a loop refreshing the page about once a second

my comfy 6.5 environment with everything running smoothly and upgrade
