That IP (66.249.67.120) really is owned by Google. So if that isn't
googlebot, it's something doing IP spoofing, which seems kinda
unlikely. Do you see it pulling robots.txt before doing other things?

OK, I just fired up softsqueeze to find this menu. I'm using the latest
(3.6) and you can get to the prefs menu by clicking the icon at the top
left of the display (looks like a list of items). The Audio tab has the
output device selector.

Trying to do transcoding (particularly double transcoding) on a NAS unit

The most likely explanation is that you have a shortcut/symlink from the
FLAC directory to the mp3 one. It's possible it's a bug, but I would

IIRC it was in the region of 5W idle and slightly more while playing. On
and off are the same but when actually playing there's more cpu
activity, more screen activity and the audio stage is taking more
power. Not much of a difference, but just about noticable.

secrets I found to stability is to make sure the
server's IP is static. If the server connection is lost and it comes
back on a different IP the SB never seems to reconnect automatically
(probably by design, how does it know it's the same server?).

Like bpa said, the announcement script is _not_ a plugin, it's a
standalone script you have to run when you want to show something on
the player. For example you could configure your email client to run it
every time you got a new email. But on it's own it won't do anything.

It works great, I use it a lot. You need to make sure of a few things:
Use a crossover cable (unless the NIC on the server is auto-sensing)
Make sure bridging is enabled - go back through network setup with the
server connected via ethernet and you will see the option to enable it.

The duet is two things, the receiver and the controller. The receiver
is basically an SB3 with no screen, pretty much everything else is the
same. The controller is however all new, and is best compared to the

127.0.0.1 is a special IP which always means this machine. So
Slimserver's address is only 127.0.0.1 if the browser is on the same
machine, if you run a browser elsewhere you need to use the machine's
actual IP, and likewise the players will use the actual IP.
