I downgraded from Squeezecenter 7.0 to Slimserver 6.5.4. (on a ReadyNAS
server).
But now, my SB3 firmware is still in version 86 (no automatic downgrade
to version 81 after reinstalling of Slimserver 6.5.4???).
My question is:
- is SB3 firmeware version 86 compliant with Slimserver
Thanks for the tip about the SoftSqueeze, it's much better. I really
don't like SqueezeCenter software though, it's so clunky. Right now I'm
leaning towards iTunes and AirTunes. I can use iTunes from a Mac or PC
to control the stereo, and if I want I can get an iPod Touch or iPhone

Yes, this can be done using the Squeezebox Controller (SBC). Click on
the song and you get a number of options, including liking and
disliking.

Same situation here. I pre-ordered from a local reseller. Trying to
support the locals. They have at least 14 pre-orders but still have not

My Squeezebox 2 died recently. It all happend very fast, first there
seemed to be some kind of error, I restarted, and it came back up. But
shortly after something went wrong again, and another restart never

Sorry to hear about that. If you want to revive it, check with customer
support at Slim Devices. I believe they will repair most
out-of-warranty SBs for a flat US$90 fee.

functionally, the SB2 can for example also do the bridging trick. The

There are actually nice remote control solutions for the itunes/airtunes
approach as well, such as Signal from Alloysoft (which does rely on an
iPhone or iPod Touch). I have never found iTunes to be a great media
management (I'll use this term for the ability to organize and locate
music)

I Installed 7.0 on my mac last week, the install process was not great.
The server would not start so I ended up on these good forums and found
that I needed to delete the cache, not a great start. The installer
needs improvement guys.
The server started and I like the new look, I re-scanned the

product that works great for so long. Then Logitech buys the company
and decides to release SqueezeCenter with a different look and feel and
at the same time, breaks the indexing fuction so now I can only see half

All my music is more than 2 folder levels deep, some as much as 4 or 5.

If you place a problem folder directly in the root music folder, does

You need to make sure you are on the actual Now Playing screen. Note,
this is different from the Now Playing screensaver. The fastest way
to get to the Now Playing screen is by hitting the Home button twice.
From there, simply click the center button and you will see all of the
Pandora options.

Oh, brilliant, it was some messed up tags, actually
'musicbrainz_sortname' tags. It only seemed to affect some older
tracks so I think it was a bug (in Fedora) from ages ago, now fixed.

Just like 6.5.4 and a couple of beta 7s before, the new SlimCenter 7
works perfectly in my Vista system. When Vista is in standby, my SB2
doesn't work.

I would try a factory reset... take out the battery, and hold down the
plus key when you reinsert and all the way thru the reboot till you
hear the start-up tone.

Correct. I have the same problem SB3 will not pick up an IP address. I
has nothing to do with making the server a static. My server is already
a static IP, but until the SB3 gets an IP address, it won't see it. I
even tried it hard wired it still won't be recognized by Time Capsule.

So today I go into Windows Update and the SP1 update is gone! No longer
listed as an available update. What gives?
I know I read that Microsoft wasnt making SP1 available through windows

Hi I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. The Duet
controller is not showing any thumbnails for my playlists.

Power On Resume
You can choose how your player should resume the current playlist when
you press the POWER button to turn the player off and then again to
turn it on again later. This setting applies to this player and other
players while they are synchonized to this player.

Have I missed something - the only start up option I can find is at
login.
This means when I turn on my server I have to login before Squeeze
Center loads. Slim Server would load when I booted the server.

be rather than what the original submitter did. I find it cuts down on

JDB, 20-30% is below the acceptable level I'd say. But no reason to
dispair. the first try would obviously be to make sure that there is
not a blind-spot in the listening room. As it is on a different floor
it could be that piping/wiring is blocking a effective signal.

Contact Support and let them know that you can bring it by.
They should be able to give you an RMA # and then you can just walk in
with your unit and that RMA #.
Keep in mind that they will not fix your SB2 on the spot. But it should
not take them too long.

Hi!
In the documentation with the Duet it says that if you hold down the
Home button the controller will power down. Nothing really seems to
happen with mine if I try that. Perhaps I missed something ?

I know I have set-up MusicIP okay because on the SqueezeCenter on the
PC browser I see an M next to all my music, and if I click it, it
creates a mix for me.
However, I cannot see any M on the Duet Controller screen, and holding

Depending upon where you have the favorites stored they should not be
affected by the update. To be sure just take a copy of the favorites
folder before update.
The favorites folder is specified in the server settings.

Thanks for the help, the Netgear Router does not have an adjustable
antenna, just a little dome on the top with fancy lights. I have
thought about getting a longer cable so I can raise it a couple feet
