I've been testing iSqueeze and I have to say it is amazing, really quick
for artists and looks brilliant.
However although album view worked fine at first it now crashes every
time, I only have 1,860 albums so not sure why.

It could really do with a way to clear the playlist without opening the
play list. I few times now I have ended up accidentally adding lots of
tracks and the only way to sensibly clearing the playlist at that point
is via the web interface.

this setup worked flawlessly for months with SC version 7.0.
Once I upgraded SC (now, version 7.2), I began experiencing
disconnects on my EVDO

ok, I have this weird situation where I had for some reason to downgrade
my Windows XP from service pack 3 to service pack 2 (Samsung scanner
drivers...)
Since the latest version (7.2) of Squeezecenter had been installed when
service pack 3 was installed, after the downgrade it didn't work
I agree with aubuti, it's pretty quick and easy to clear a playlist
using the controller, as described. But I very rarely feel the need to
clear the playlist anyway. If there's stuff in a playlist and I don't
want to continue listening to that list, I select what I do want to
hear and hit Play.
Any chance there is a way to play music through the SqueezeCenter
(either the computer that my music library is sitting on, or a remote
laptop or desktop located on my home LAN)?

using the Java mp3 decoder, which does not support gapless playback.
I'm not sure about ogg files though. The limiting factor here is the
Java playback engine.

I'd suggest taking a look at the multiple library plugin that way you
can create two separate libraries, one for music and one for
audiobooks. Then when you really do want to listen to an audiobook you
can use that library and have all the SC capability at your disposal.
