Rubbing solder on instead of graphite works a little better as the lead has
more mass then graphite. Thus, the oscillations are slightly less and the
lead can lower the frequency slightly more then graphite.

If you put a lubricant on the nylon gears, they will swell and bind !!! Do not
lubricate the nylon gears, metal ones are OK to lubricate.
Also, do not bang the nylon gears at their end stops. It will distort the
gears. (OK to do this if you have to w/metal gears)

I could never understand why anyone would send their cabinet to Harzell for

(Why not go to the hardware store and buy/install a wall outlet jack on the
radio as a mic jack as they are really easy to obtain). A can opener will
widen the hole for you. While one is at it, paint it pink too. That
will give it a really nice touch.

I am not interested. A 500 khz step unit would be useless for ham use.. I,
