My only problem with motorised units is the screwdriver type antennas. They
make a heck of a racket and this is the only reason I don't have that type on
my property. I had one on my car for a short while and it's quite
disconcerting hearing it winding up and down.

I see the trapezoidal analog display of relative bandwidth, but if
the dsp bandwidth is set to 300hz, does the K3 indicate such directly
to the operator?

B1 it is on page 12).
On the lower right of the display are 7 digits, which are used to display a multitude of things,

You bet an R5 can be ground mounted. However, Cushcraft has recommended it
be 4 to 6 feet above ground. You do, however, need to consider the RF
exposure limits as outlined by the FCC.
Remember, you have to consider whether the site is controlled (not
accessible by the average person) or
