Hi, OM:
Try using the " K3 Freq Memory Editor " available here:
http://www.elecraft.com/K3/FreqMemEdit/K3_Freq_Mem_Editor.htm
Enter frequencies you want to store, and then you can frequency-hop with the
mouse or the button-sequence " press M>V then turn A knob then press M>V
again ".

Hi, all concerned:
Operating computer-assisted digital modes has become easier and
simpler, for me at least, with the K3's accessibility features. I started
with WSPR, added WSJT-HF, and am looking at other modes, after reading a
post here somewhere by K9YC (thanks, Jim, heh heh).

Hi, all concerned:
I swl with the K3, and have been trying to make it scan the widest possible
spans outside the ham bands.
In the process, I have accumulated a list of frequencies (found by tuning
first A, then B, from 490 KHz to 30 MHz) where the K3 behave in interesting
ways. The "A list" o
Hi, all concerned:
I'm glad to report that the problem seems to be cured.
I saved the params with the K3 utility.
I performed an EE INIT, which by itself eliminated the syndrome.
Then I reloaded the saved params. Syndrome returned.
To be thorough, I downloaded and re-installed RV4.39 f/w.

Ive sent requested stuff to DickD who will look into it.
It seems to remember the *last* entry, no matter what band is hand-entered
or switched to.

Hi, all concerned:
I've been using v4.39 firmware for a while.
In a prior fw version, at least a year ago, using the K3 MemEd, I programmed
in, eg, vfo A=7000.00 and vfo B=7030.00, so I can use the M>V button as a
bandswitch, and scan from A to B. Worked fine afterwards. Didn't have a P3

Hi, all concerned:
In the next six months or so, I will be moving to an in-law suite in the
Jacksonville FL area, exact location unknown.
In the last 5-6 years, I've put a decent ELECRAFT-ALPHA station together in
Cincinnati. The antenna system can be seen on qrz.com, googleearth, and
bingmaps.
Take the panel to your choice of auto paint shops. Maaco comes to mind.

Hi, all concerned:
In the next 6 months, I'll be going from having a competitive station to . .
. . . . an in-law suite which will likely have HOAs and
restrictive covenants, somewhere in or near Jacksonville FL.
I am interested in remotely controlling a K3 over the 'net, as simply as I
can, ie,
When Mr Collins himself was in control, iirc, the rumor in th '50s was that
the 'A4 cost about four large to manufacture, while, as a favor to fellow
hams, he let them steal it for ~$750. The beancounters eventually reined
him in.

Dunno if this is ideal, however, I have 2 Hustler 6BTV's and they can be fed
together as a dipole. I plan to put them in a pvc pipe, for wx resistance
and some mechanical stability, and use them as a 6-band slopper, leaning
toward my tower and fed with 7/8" line to handle vswr excursions. Suppor
To redirect what seems to be a tone of disbelief, or nonrecognition, of the
relay chatter syndrome, perhaps Gary Surrency could write up here re his
diagnosis of my K3 several months ago.
I'll ask the local who's using the K3 which has the relay chatter, if he's
willing to post his findings. Mayb
Shudda written that I haven't seen the flashes mentioned above; only heard
the relay chatter while tuning with the A knob.

Got the same problem in one of my K3s.
According to facsupport, in early units there is a custom PLD chip which
sometimes develops timing issues at random intervals, and that $99+2wayship
will likely take care of the problem.
A local fellow has been using the K3 in the mean time, and putting up w
