I'll be running my IBM Thinkpad from a 12v battery. The TP wants to
see at least 13v, though, so I'm using the "All-Purpose Voltage Booster"
from N4UAU. I set mine to deliver 13v with an input from 12v down to 10v.
Current drain is a steady 1.5A. I plan to move the converter from battery
to

By 1957, I was in the Army in Alaska. Between the peak cycle conditions and

My favorite knob for my K2 is the main tuning knob from
my old Kenwood TS-180.
For anyone who was active in the 40m Fox Hunts, this rig
was Ol' Kenwood, featured in a number of stories I posted.
The knob is just the right diameter, and has a molded
"finger sharpener" dimple molded right in.

You didn't mention what kind of openings, if any, already exist in
the shed walls.
Two things you can do.
1. Put a gradual twist in the feedline, say one revolution every
six feet or so. This evens out the unbalancing due to the nearness
of the metal shed.
2. Where you do find an opening

to the K2 IF frequency, try listening to ssb directly out
of the KSB2 and see if it is watery there. If not,
the problem lies elsewhere in the rig. If it is watery,
which I doubt it will be, since you say you get the

at the narrower DSP filter settings. 10 Hz would be
good and BW less than 200 Hz.

I have a number of J310s, but no U310s.
Do you know whether they are the same
animal, just in different casings?

There's one easy trick I learned a while back.
Actually add solder to each end of the R or C
to be removed. This creates a larger thermal
mass that doesn't cool and harden as quickly,
and gives you time to get the other end melted

Problem is:
Directions say got to CONFIG:TX GAIN and tap
1. I only show CONFIG:TXGN LP, with a current setting
of 18. No response when tapping 1.
