Our club has used N1MM for past field days with K3s using DTR RTS settings
in the radio and in N1MM to send CW.
I am trying this with my K3S with a laptop from Field Day, and get errors
whenever i set PTT-KEY to anything but the default. Additionally, some of
these cause steady key down or
The XG50 signal generator is no longer available and I’m in need of a stable
signal to do the extended temperature compensation procedure on my KX3. I
remember a discussion about using the K3’s external converter output but cannot
locate any details.

When I was first a ham, one of the locals was W7QYA, Flo, a school teacher
not far away. I had managed to crank my speed up to 40 (with some struggle)
but she said that was painfully slow for her. Her nominal speed was 65
wpm. I have yet to get much above 40.

I have been using a wire out the window from my upstairs office for an
antenna for my kx3. The wire goes to a tree about 30 feet away, so it is
essentially a random wire. I have an additional wire that goes to a ground
rod one floor below.

There are a few of those around now. Of course they have varying capabilities
relative to SMD. A buddy of mine just recently had a K3 repaired by N3CZ over
in North Carolina. He turned it in a few weeks.

380 with but I was a very happy camper when you did!
I take pride that my KSYN3A-updated K3 is still one of the cleanest CW

Did you confirm that the drive power from the K3 was changing on 15M when you
adjusted it on 80M and vice versa? I’ve never had this problem 160M through 6M.
Sounds like something may be set wrong in the menu or a failure of some sort.

I will add that 240 volt wiring frequently uses what we 120v people would think
of as wimpy wire sizes. If you do the math, they give the same wattage as we
get with our #12 or #14 wore at 120v. Or at least that’s what I’ve seen when
I’ve looked at the house wiring in 240v land.
