Give them permissions in exchange admin - you can add them as a user to the
mailbox, assuming that the user in question has requested this person be
able to access their inbox, or has at least approved this.

You give them permissions in Exchange admin and then add the said mailbox to
the users outlook profile using tools-services-properties-advanced. Or
file-open-other users folder.
This is all assuming you are using exchange 5.5 and Outlook. All of which
you have neglected to add in your question.
Give that user permission to do so:
i.e. right click on Inbox, click properties, click permissions ... add user,
assign permissions
On the users machine, in Outlook click File/Open/Others Users folders .
Find the name of who you want to see the inbox of who just gave you
permission to do so. On

That seems high to me as I am not a proponent of rules. You should sub a
public folder to this list and sub yourself as the poster and eliminate the
rule altogether.

Are there any rules set to permanently delete any items? I have noticed
that when I upgraded to OL 2002 that if I tried to implement a rule to
permananently delete an item, it automatically stopped processing other
rules. Just a thought.

Right, now I located the file. I can't do anything during production hours.
I was going to follow the same procedure you suggested with the exception of
stopping the IMS first. Missed that step. Thanks for telling me that. The
interesting thing is the file I located is in the archive folder
Well, thanks for the answer but it really didn't contain any info I was
hoping for. For instance...what is the rules limit? After I sent the
email to the this list, I went and exported all the emails (27), deleted
them, and imported them. Guess what, now they all work. Maybe I am
just seeing
We have customer who insisted on having more rules that the 32K we allow on
our exchange servers. We had him create a VBA add in to do his own rule
processing. Tell the person to get a book on programing exchange / outlook
using VBA.

FAQ. Although there's no limit to the number of rules, there's a
hard-coded 32KB limit to rules. Some rules take up more space than
others, by the way. There's no known workaround.

It seems to me that if your IMS is broken, you should do something

That's a feature. When a message qualifies to be deleted, it's deleted,
and therefore no subsequent rules apply to it, which makes sense, since
the message is deleted.

I need to calculate the total amount of data (mail) that gets
exchanged between two exchange sites. MTA tracking is enabled on messaging
bridge hedge server in site A. What is the best way ( events to be
considered in the calculation ) to calculate the amount of data
sent/received
I get the same error for a DL with 1 entry or 100 ! If I try and copy a DL
from the contacts folder in my Mailbox, I get a similar error Can't move
the item. The item cannot be moved. It was already moved or deleted, or
access is denied.
It's really weird. Just to check, I have created another
