Fioon, call you Veritas representative and ask for an evaluation copy of the
IDR (strange that there isnt an eval version, they have evals of all the
other options). I've used both, and the Veritas solution is superior in
every way to Arcserve (at least once CA got hold of it).

We currently have this issue, where some messages sent to public folders
(sent from the internet to the address of the public folder) are arriving as
Posts, and others are arriving as messages. The problem is that posted
items don't have the same features as
...and don't forget the PA's / EA's / Secretaries who may have Send As
permissions to the bosses mailbox.
You could also try and recover from the deleted items if your still within
your deleted item retention period to see if they did send the message, but
deleted it.

I have deployed both products, and personally like NetIQ a heck of a lot
better.
Essentially both products can perform the same levels of monitoring and
reporting, however MOM requires a LOT more legwork to get the same result.
The NetIQ interface as you said is more logical and easier
