This means you have to upgrade to a version of rpm that is greater or equals
to rpm 3.0.3-1. So upgade to rpm 3.0.5 for example. I upgraded from a
initscript-4.9x to a 5.2x release without any problems on a Redhat system
but did not try this on mandrake yet. I think Mandrake is just redhat

If you got a static IP (I did. Woo) then just set up the ethernet as with
any network and your cool. If you got a dynamic IP then set it up w/ your
hostname (as they gave you) as the hostname option w/ dhcp. That's pretty

paranoid level. I need to make printing accessible to all users and allow
outgoing telnet and ftp. It's a server so no X-tools are available. Anyone

there was an error in the logrotate which caused this probleem.. simply
delete the /var/log/mail and /var/log/news directories and update to
the new logrotate (its in MandrakeUpdate too) check this list for the
previous discussion on this when the problem was found!

Hmpf. I tried that, adding GNOME to desktop in replacement of KDE,
then restarted linux. It tried to start kdm anyway, crashed out
to the CLI and I had to use DrakWM again to get a gnome-session
running. If I ran simply "startx" after logging in at the CLI,
