I'm having trouble with XFree86 4.2.0. My box is a IBM 300PL with an embedded S3 Trio
3D graphics card. I blew it away and installed Mandrake 8.2 -- no problems. I then
upgraded to XFree86 4.2.0 (it was using 3.3.6 or something - why such an old version

gets a Security Warning: World Writeable files found : message added to
it along with a list of files (shown below). Is this really a
problem? Should I simply run chmod o-w for each of these files?

Writeable is incorrectly spelled. It should be Writable.

Below is a patch that excludes sockets (and also replaces a numeric value
by the proper named constant (MACRO)). Hopefully it can get added to 8.2

He's comes also with a basic interpreter (don't remember the distrib).
If your friends basic program is compiled then there is no pb to run it in the

You have the FreeS/WAN (freeswan package) on Mandrake 8.2 (may also be
on 8.1, I'm not sure) for IPsec implementation. It should interface
with the Cisco router with minimal difficulty. Check out

I had this same problem You had a couple of years ago. It was pretty common to
have a monitor that didn't have preset info in it.
