Can't help feeling sad as I think how the people, including Juliette, in
Raunchy's life will miss out on all the extra benefits because she doesn't
have, psychologically speaking some of those cojones she often talks about.
She doesn't have the cojones to actually go and see John Newton for herself.
Something that would have been very easy for her to do THREE times this past
year.  What's that about?  Why hasn't she attended even one presentation to see
for herself that John is authentic and has something of great value to offer
her and through her the people in her life?

No she'd rather very cleverly and in a seemingly down home kind of way snark
about someone she has chosen not to meet in person.  She'd rather cleverly and
superficially diss John for his looks.  She'd rather despicably call his
integrity into question by using the word claims in reference to John's remote
viewing training.  Which BTW he talks about in his presentations.

What's also sad is Robin's response.  Supposedly he loves Raunchy.  But what
kind of love is it that praises someone for such snarky behavior as RD exhibits
here?  Robin, learn to REALLY love someone rather than in a creepy cult leader
kind of way.  It will not only do you good, but also your loved ones.

I'm sure John would instantly forgive all this, even my ineptness here.  And he
would laugh about it all.  And he would have unconditional love for Raunchy and
Robin.  And Ravi too.  Just as I'm sure Steve has BTW.

Anyway, Raunchy I officially DARE you to attend John's next presentation.  With
or without goat.  And Robin I officially dare you to have a phone session with
John.  In the spirit of continuing to wish complete healing for you.

He's definitely dreamy looking enough to have been a pick for the movie

A Message from Maitreya

I am closer to you than you may think. No distance separates us. And
I can tell you truly that it is not long before you see My face. Be
ardurous in the task of telling the world of My presence and bring
joy to humankind. Goodnight, My friends.

On 29 December 2006 Benjamin Creme was interviewed by a well-known
American television chat show host for a film about world religions.
At the end of the interview Maitreya gave a blessing, accompanied by
this message.

Message of hope

As we enter 2007, with the 25th anniversary of Share International
magazine, we also look ahead to July which marks the 30th anniversary
of Maitreya the World Teacher's arrival in London on 19 July 1977.
In a recent article Benjamin Creme's Master states:

Short, indeed, therefore, is the time left to prepare His way, to
tell men that help and hope are at hand, that the Teacher is here,
eager to speak directly to the peoples of all the nations.
Speed, then, your efforts. Make haste to inform all who will listen
that the destined hour has arrived, that soon mankind will rejoice in
the presence of the Teacher. Tell them this and uphold their hope and
courage. Many will listen now who before did not; anxiety and fear
have taken their toll of men. The signs, too, have done their work
and awakened millions to expected happenings and revelations. Never
before in man's history have so many sensed the coming changes nor
understood their necessity.
Hence, into an expectant and prepared world will Maitreya emerge,
sure in the knowledge that His presence is longed for and eagerly
anticipated.

(From: `Maitreya's priorities', SI October 2006)
Benjamin Creme advises: It is up to all who believe in or hope for
Maitreya's presence to grasp the urgency of the task of preparation.
So little time remains for this responsible and needed work. Spare no
effort in this never-to-be-repeated opportunity to serve both
Hierarchy and humanity, and bring Maitreya and His Group forward at
the earliest lawful date.

Master's article
Maitreya steps forward
by the Master —, through Benjamin Creme

The emergence of Maitreya is all but accomplished. His open, public
work will commence really very soon. From then will begin the process
of teaching and becoming known, gradually, to the peoples of the
world. The time that this will take remains unclear, but it should
proceed relatively quickly. At first, of course, there may be much
opposition to His views and the nature of His advice. This is only to
be expected, so far from the prevailing thinking is His thought.
Gradually, however, Maitreya's incisive mind will cut through and
expose the flaws in present beliefs about the environment and on
matters social, economic and political. The logic and wise
understanding of His words will convince many to listen and
contemplate further, while His Ray will penetrate the hearts of
millions and turn His simple words into revelations of Truth. No one,
as yet, knows the loving power of Maitreya, nor can men fathom His
inscrutable wisdom.

Rally

As millions rally to His cause, demanding peace and justice through
sharing and understanding, men will be swept up and galvanized by new
hope and a longing for brotherhood and right relationship. They will
demand change on a scale hitherto unknown. The governments and men of
power will be forced to respond to the demands, and bit by bit, the
edifice against change will crumble before the onslaught of a now
empowered voice of public opinion. Thus, by logic, revelation and the
trust engendered by His love, will Maitreya harness the goodwill
which exists, even if unknown, in every heart.

Millions

Maitreya will speak to millions of men through television and radio.
All will have the opportunity to share in His blessing which will
accompany every appearance. Thus the people worldwide will become
familiar with His message and the uplifting of their hearts. Much
speculation will surround His identity and many will be the theories
presented, but all in their different ways will see Him as the
harbinger of the new, a conveyor of wholesome truths and as a way-
shower of a lifestyle close to their hearts.
Of course, there will be those who feel threatened by His ideas, and
who will attempt to stop His progress but, more and more, the beauty
and good sense of His words will inspire the people of all the
nations to see Him as their spokesman and leader. Thus will it be.
The people will call for Him to speak on their behalf to the world at
large, and the Day of

Perhaps the Christians should sponsor a series
of scientific studies to quantify sin and find
its physiological counterparts. (That is, find
something that they don't understand, and *call*
it the physiological counterparts of sin.)
Then they could (with no bias except the absolute
conviction that they're *going* to find these phys-
iological counterparts of sin to lesser degree
in Christians than in non-Christians), act sur-
prised when they find these things, and announce
to the world that they have conclusively, scien-
tifically proven that belief in Jesus causes
remission of sin.

I'm sure that would convince pretty much exactly
the same percentage of Christians of the validity
of their beliefs as the studies on TM (dare I say
it...the similarly designed and conceived studies
on TM) have convinced already-convinced TMers
of *its* worth.

Then the whole thing would be settled...

Wow, and to think I had been making snarky comments about this guy. I
think this settles the question about his credibility. BTW was he on
before or after the two part series on Anna Nicole or was he before
the short clip of Britney shaving off her hair before entering rehab?

Maitreya will speak to millions of men through television and radio.

Was this written in the 1950's? Tell him just to post on FFL. That
will influencec the thinking of the most important people on earth.

Spare no effort in this never-to-be-repeated opportunity to serve

Earliest lawful date...let's see in Virginia I think that would be age
18 unless the dude is nor more than 2 years older. Then it is 16.

Never-to-be-repeated I think the current infomercial phrase these

Oy...

I never took the time to really connect the vague prophesies in the
Old Testament with the New claims to notice how they fail even by
their own criteria. I usually get hung up on the miracles.

The miracle stories, though, are just feel-good
stuff. They never did non-Christians any harm.

  The weird
thing is that even if you definitively pointed all this out,
the Christian just drops back and punts. Well it is just a
 matter of faith.

There's a lot to be said for faith in and of itself,
IMHO. Faith that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross (even if
it never happened) has reconciled those who accept
Jesus as Savior to God relieves a person of a huge
burden of guilt and fear over their past transgressions.
If God forgives you, who the hell are you not to forgive
yourself?

Without that guilt and fear, it's a lot easier to make
a fresh start.

That ingenious formulation was Paul's doing, so as much
as his rejection of Judaism and his homophobia and
misogyny pisses me off, I gotta give him credit for
coming up with something that works.

Maybe the evangelicals get the bennies you mention but in my Irish
and French Catholic background it doesn't work out that way. Because
Christianity instills fear and guilt you don't get off the hook by
your faith or even God's forgiveness for long. Once you throw
self-gratification into the mix to feel guilty about you are pretty
much screwed the day after confession. It seems to me that using
God's forgiveness to remove guilt distracts people from repairing the
social contract by getting forgiveness from the person harmed. So
many of the Church's transgressions are about pissing God off anyway.
I think the chimps have it right. When you do something that hurts
another member of your tribe you go to them and hold out your hand
making an oo sound. The other chimp could bit your hand, so for a
moment you are vulnerable. The other chimp kisses your hand and then
you start grooming. If you are in the Bonobo species you might dry
hump for a few minutes. Better than saying a few Our Fathers' after
confession!

Martin Luther wasn't the first. The Anti Semitism found in the church was

Replacement Theology in which it was taught that the Church replaced the Jews

I'm not a believer, but how any Christian could be

not as if it's an obscure point of Christian

Supposedly when Luther broke with the Church, he thought the Jews would

I once got to teach meditation (not TM) in a really
cool lecture hall at the university in Amsterdam.
It was lined with portraits -- painted from life --
of the people who had lectured in that room in the
past. We're talking the great minds of European
history; it was fun to teach there.

Anyway, one of the portraits was of Calvin, and the
other of Luther. Judging from the portraits alone,
there is simply no question who was the bigger prick.
Calvin looks like a man who *desperately* needs to
get laid, or to take his first-ever shit, or something.
Scary...really, really scary.

But the portrait of Luther makes him look like a fairly
cheerful monk, benign and harmless. I guess puttin' on
your best face for the camera started long before there
were cameras, eh?

When Luther left the Church, he immediately got married and then

Calvin, OTOH, invented, well...Calvinism. Enough said.

ALL Christian sects mangle parts of the tradition. The Sabbath is supposed to

the same time the Jews observe it, hence the reason why all Romance languages
(as far as

Luther's attitude toward Jews was based more on jealousy of Jewish
success rather than any religious bias. You can see Luther's social
jealousy in his comments about Jews sitting by the oven, eating pears,
while a self-styled good Xtian like Luther was poor and struggling his

Sure, but Protestants would like to think Luther

ALL Christian sects mangle parts of the tradition. The Sabbath is
supposed to be held at
the same time the Jews observe it, hence the reason why all
Romance languages (as far as

Yeah, but I'm talking about doctrine, not tradition.

English is a Germanic language. And the English names seem to follow (at least
partly) the
convention used by China and Japan, rather than Rome:

Sun Day, Moon Day, Fire Day, Water Day, Wood Day, Gold Day, Earth Day.

I don't think that's likely to do the trick, actually.
For Jews there are more important issues involved.

No , that will not be what makes them accept him as Messiah,
but will show them that he was Jesus.

Anybody can have scars on their hands and feet

The problem with Jesus as Messiah is that he
clearly wasn't the Messiah prophesied to the Jews
in the Hebrew Scriptures. Among other things,
The prophesied Messiah will be a human being, not
God. And it's blasphemy in Judaism to say a human
being is divine. The High Priest wasn't ripping
his garments just for dramatic effect.

I know the response to this is that the Jews have
misunderstood their own scriptures, but that's
just insulting. It's no wonder knowledgeable Jews
aren't interested.

I'm not saying Jesus wasn't a Really Big Deal, just
that Christians ought to leave the Jews the frack
alone about him and worry about their own salvation.
If God wants His Chosen People to turn to Jesus,
He'll find a way to do it, but I seriously doubt it's
going to look like a parallel between Bible stories.
And He's got a whole lot of 'splainin' to do.
