Okay, we're still having a problem with baby Penelope (4 months). When she
first came home, she did her business on the laminate floor in front of the
front door. So, I moved one of the litter boxes there. She went fine in the
box. Then, I tried to move the box downstairs-not with the others, but

I know you are having terrible problems, but your

You are such a sweet , patient, humorous person.
Well, it is pretty awful having this right at your

that spot.
Would you dare to try another area of the house for
Don't know how many cats you have. I need to have one more box than cats
because some of mine want to poop in one and pee in another. I got Lucy when
her previous human took her to the vet to be KILLED for going outside the box.
She was 8 months old and had diarrhea ~ a food change fixed the
Laurie, This is a very interesting subject when you
think about it. It would probably be worth a book? I
now realize why my litter boxes upstairs never have
poop in them , but the one downstairs, at the base of
the basement steps, does. Also, I have a couple of
kitties that hate using the litter

Thanks Laurie! That was great advice! I have 6 cats, 3 litter boxes-but
they're huge boxes. I think I might add more though. Penelope was a stray

Melissa and everyone,
Thanks for your input.
I am still highly concerned that my 4 year old will test positive since she
would immediately eat the wet food that was leftover in the food bowl the FeLV+
ate out of and she was not vaccinated at the time. Only time will tell I guess,
it's going to
The FELV vaccine does not cause a positive test result.
The FIV vaccine causes a positive test result, which is one reason it
isn't recommended. (If the kitty gets away and to a shelter and they
test the kitty she will come up +)

Of course, I forgot again last night to look up that stuff I wanted for you!

Dawn,
I have to wonder why a cat would test pos. after a
feline leukemia vaccination? I'm wondering if
different vets use different vaccines? My vet uses a
killed virus vaccine. I have had her explain this to
me a couple times , because I keep doubting a cat
cannot test pos. after a vaccination...
Wow! 3 times a day-if only my kitties were so lucky! Once a day is all I do
for scooping. Now I feel guilty. We change litter every 2 weeks (and wash
out the boxes). I would love to change the litter once a week, but it's so
darn expensive! We use the crystal litter which is more expensive. I know

Not sure it would work but maybe try some double sided sticky
tape where she likes to go on the floor and when you see her go over to
try and go there pick her up and put her in the cat box where ever it
may be.

Aha! I forgot about the tape trick. I've used the large industrial

in the carpet to get out the door...
Thanks!

Yes! Our litter box isn't in there, but we've got three kitties that are
obsessed with drinking out of the tub, so if I go to the bathroom, I have
many helpers, and I always have to turn on the tub for them. They love the
fresh water, even if I've just filled their water bowls.
I've had
Drinkwell. I dump and rinse and wipe it out daily with a cloth and take it
apart and wash it weekly (because of my number of cats).
Mine like to use the box when I use the bathroom. I like it, actually, as it
offers me the opportunity to closely monitor what is going on with everyone

Have you tried Cat Attract in her litterbox?
Some folks swear by it.
Also, you might have to crate her for a few, that way she can be retrained.

I also use a Drinkwell. I've had it for a year now (with three cats) and
never had a problem out of it. Personally, I'd highly recommend it.
There's also a new Drinkwell Platinum on the market, not sure if there's any
