So this woman is a rescue type person? How did you come into contact?
Wonder if any local rescues or shelters know of her. It is all odd,
could just be emotional issues.

Hi Peggy,
Here is an example, when I rescued a double positive Mama and her
kittens, at first (6 weeks old, and pulled from Mom at that point) 2
tested double positive, the other two positive for Fiv only. A vet and
another rescuer told me that with kittens from an felv+ Mom sometimes

If no nebulizer you cam do a humidifier or sit kitty in a carrier/
bathroom with hot steamy shower. Not as good as a nebulizer but it's
been suggested to me before.

I am very sorry to hear about Muffin, it sounds like she is about the same
age as Sissy and Hobbs, and Shennanigans, I pray that they are all playing
together now, interrupted only by naps and reminders that they are well

Bless you for helping shelter kitties!

With much sadness, I wanted to share with everyone that Hobbs' sister,

very much, which was to be expected as they were quite bonded, and she began

Thank you everyone, for your kind thoughts.
Hobbs was just over a year old, they were about 6 weeks old when we found
them mid-April of 2007.
I am wondering what others' experiences have been with kittens born with
leukemia, and how long they have lived.
Thank you all for your prayers for Sissy

I thank you all so much for your caring & insightful replies!

Hello,
I first joined this group a year ago in regards to a double-positive Mom and
her kittens.
All kittens cleared FIV, remained + for Leuk. Only the two who stayed
together remain, and one has crashed hard.
I am not his caretaker but what I know is, he had a dental a little over a
month ago
Our local AS has a 10-year old blind Siamese kitty who was going to be
adopted, then tested + for Leukemia.
We are in Tampa, Florida, and none of us has been able to find a home or
foster for this kitty who will be euthanized
today.
I pardon for the urgent-placement type of message and hope it's
I know this is a long shot, but this beautiful little girl has stolen
many hearts & is very sweet, she has long, charcoal fur and has been
through a lot. She was dumped in the lot at a local vet's in Tampa,
FL. A tech took her in, she first tested light + for Leuk. and now
has retested positive
Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but as a white kitty with 2 differently
colored eyes, isn't there a good chance this kitty is deaf?
Just wanted to mention since that impacts the safety of being outside.
Thank you for helping this kitty, she sounds beautiful! We had an
all-white rescue this

I have mostly just read and only posted here once or twice before...but I've
been reading about Marmalade and am crying with you.
I know how horrible you feel as I work with rescue and have seen/heard many
similar situations. Our city is not small enough to use "backwards" as an
excuse
I want to thank everyone for their care & concern for the kittens and Mom I
posted about.
If I had a spare room or something I could at least keep the one kitten who
is being sent to the sanctuary tomorrow (that we don't want it to go to) but
I don't even have a room to put it in temporarily, I'm
Hello-
I am new to this group, having trapped an injured Mom kitty at my new job,
who turned out to be FELV & FIV positive and a nursing Mom. This was in
April, I had 3 injured cats in my first two weeks of changing jobs, I work
with ferals and it's been one of those years...it's especially sad
