There are some Vegans out there that don't seem to have health problems feeding
their
cats vegan diets, but I'm not too sure it's really a GOOD thing to do to a cat,
being, like you said, carnivores themselves. I definitely would not want to
press my
luck with turning a FELV+ cat vegan, it's
me sleep, and would meow nonstop if I
took it
away from him at any time.

Glad to hear the update on Bandy, it has been a while. It's good that he's
gained weight and looks good. His temp staying down for longer periods is also
good progress. You may be on to something with the idea of a deep inflammation
due to an old injury that flares up occasionally. I was
about it now but call it a learning
experience, and go on with life as best you can. Cats should be tested before
vaccination, if you choose to vaccinate against FELV. Not your fault, but
possibly
something your vet missed the boat on. Did your vet test for FIV as well?

Has never happened to me, in fact, just the opposite, I know for a fact that
none of
my cats have caught FELV from any of those sources, even though there was a
FELV+ cat
sharing those things with them for 18 months.

Julie, I'm so sorry to hear that Mandy is going downhill. If it's any help to
have a
second opinion on the matter... from what you said about her, I do think it is
time
to let her go.
I send you all the positive energy I can muster, and I hope the decision brings
you
peace in knowing that you
off a spay for one reason or another. When they do a spay, they
put the cat on her back on a hard metal table, and they tie them spread eagle by
all four paws and pull them very taunt on the table. That can't be good on a cat
with a bad back. That's my issue.

I would not do it unless I saw more than one large study done that proved it's
value
in at least 80% of the cats used in the studies. Like I've said many times
before, I
don't believe in the FELV vaccine at all, any normal adult cat will develop the
immunity against FELV in time anyways, so
in the room.

Certainly, starting him on Interferon would not hurt, even if he is felv
negative.
I would hold off on the immuno-regulin until I knew how bad his heart
murmur is. Anything over grade 4
