I don't really believe that 72% are false positives. I think the
percentages of that are much lower. I think most of the problems wtih
the ELISA come from improper handling of the kit. However, I like most
of everything else they said in the article. The ELISA doesn't give

Those are the same tests. The definitive test is the IFA (has to be sent to
a lab). Recommended testing protocol is if the snap and IFA are
different, test again in 120 days. Unfortunately for most rescues and
shelters they don't have a place for keeping possibly positive cats for an

I've lost 9 FeLV kitties and have one survivor at this time. My vets never
suggested the bone aspiration. Part of the reason could be cost since the
vet knows I do kitty rescue and sanctuary the sick kitties.

I adopted my Cinder at 9 weeks, and she tested negative at that time. On
