[Felvtalk] Update on Lucky

Hi - just to update everyone, little "Lucky" that was tossed out of the car
and hit the windshield of my granddaughter's friend, Rachel, seems to have
fully recovered, and even made friends with another of Rachel's rescues, a
black lab dog. My granddaughter Toni sent me a picture of the two of them
looking into each other's face with the dog on the couch and Lucky up on the
back of the couch. They seemed very happy I love a happy ending :)

WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK ABOUT FREEZE DRIED TREATS? I HAVE FOUND 2 BRANDS AT 
PETSMART, PLUS bLUE bUFFALO NOW HAS THEM ONLY THEIR'S AE SOFT.  OUR FAVORITE IS 
DUCK OF COURSE AND WE ALSO LOVE TURKEY.

I used to use RC extreme hairball as a treat, but worried about the chicken 
feathers, also they do have grains in some of their foods and since we are all 
allergic to grains, that leaves RC out.

You will have to do what I resorted to, put food out in the am and pm and after 
an hour, take it up.  I used to leave food in the bowls all day but Dee and 
Homey would continue to eat all day and are now over weight.  The only way to 
get them back into shape is withhold the food.  Got to do that for myself.  
Can;'t have oreos in the house because they call me to come and eat them.  They 
are my comfort food when I start feeling down.

Hi Bonnie,
 All in all, I'd say that's good news. I try to avoid dry food, but the RC SO is what I have for those times someone is stubborn or insistent on dry food. They like it :) I haven't tried the canned, for wet food I use EVO, Hounds and Gatos, and others with basically meat only. That's pretty much what I use for everyone. Canned is altogether better than dry for any cat.
 Hope all the meds make him feel much better, soon.

i like the wellness turkey mostly because that is one T hey will eat.  they 
also like Blue Buffalo duck and turkey.  NO ONE LIKES CHICKEN NO MATTER WHAT 
THE BRAND.  BEEF IS SO, SO AND FISH JUST SITS THERE UNTIL I THROW IT OUT.  
UNLESS I GET CANNED MACKERAL FOR HUMANS  THAT WE LOVE BECAUSE IT IS STINKY.

that caused this, too, ut they changed the formula. Not hat SD is the greatest

 I feel better about my RC. It's a minor part of their diet, but I don't feed them the hypoallergenic dog food that's made from feathers .Iresearched the science behind the hydrolyzed hypo-allergenic foods when I had a dog with issues, so I understand some of that.
 I misunderstood, and thought that the contention was that their chicken meal is made of feathers.

Thanks, Margo (and everyone who helped).  Lucky actually ate the RC s/o diet
tonight!  And he is at least going out to the cat boxes in the garage rather
than trying to pee in the house.  We have some anti-inflammatory to help
with his urgency I hope.
Hopefully we're crossing a bridge toward better health for Lucky!  I know I
can feed him separately, the problem is, the other cats still eat the dry
food, and I need to keep him out of it.
